Thanks for taking us along Justin. Really cool. The 995 and 799 were quite impressive. First loader I ever saw with a buddy seat , which would be great for training new operators. Used to have to just show them the ropes and let them have at it and hope for the best, which doesn’t always work out so good. And high drive on that Liebherr dozer. First I’ve seen that on anything but Cat. Really thought there was going to be a D-12 somewhere but evidently not yet. Also noticed the much less aggressive tire treads on the loaders and haul trucks. They must have finally realized that good road maintenance is way less expensive than new rubber, and other parts also. Really interesting Justin ,Thanks! 👍👍🇺🇸
A D12 will never make it into production, at least anytime soon. There isn't really any market demand. Outside of that one off custom modification done to a D11 in Australia I believe it was, Cat won't make one.
@@Ratkill9000 Ok, heard they were in the works many years ago, but evidently never came to fruition. Pretty hard to improve on the D-11 T’s , which I’ve had the pleasure to operate, but You never know! 👍👍🇺🇸
@@brianw8963If you heard about a D12 being built many years ago they were most likely talking about the modified D11 to D12 Dozers in Australia they built a few of them
@@bethanyhaskiell9116 You’re probably correct. 👍👍🇺🇸
The big Cats were impressive! Though they were essentially beefed up versions of the 994 and 797. Now chimming in on the dozer chat!! I don't think you'll see a bigger dozer from any manufacturer anytime soon. What a lot of people don't know is that the operational cost of a D11 is almost twice that of a D10. Right now, the ideal market for a big dozer is the D10 class, that's why Liebherr targeted that size machine. Now sure, you may need two D10s to match the production of an 11, but the cost of an additional operator outweighs the operational and maintenance cost of the tractor. Now from what I've heard, that Liebherr will outpush the D10. Thanks!
Justin thank you very much for this great review of the most anticipated exhibition on mining equipment. It was awesome🥳 Komatsu D475 is so cool looking dozer...
It is, they just look so beastly. Wish they performed as such! Thanks!
All those big toys! That 24 is a favorite.
Your vid quality tops them all young man. Very easy to watch and enjoy.
Thanks and have a great rest the year!
Great tour thank you for sharing Justin!
I enjoyed every shot and every second.
I'm finding out after the fact that some interesting people were at the Expo. Tony Beats and now Mr PA. It would have been fun to meet them.
Haha yes my woman actually met Tony Beats! He was with GR Pumps
this is why i want to move to the US; to see these massive machines that we smaller countries don't have
There are some cool machines.
But if you ever come to the states, Look up the Big Boy 4000 series locomotives..
Designed in the 1930s. Real power. 1 locomotive can pull a 5 Mile long train.
Hahaha! 😅
Justin in the candy store...
Reminds me of my first Photokina in 1978 in Cologne.
Blahahaha! 🤣
Imagine what it’d take to charge battery powered mine equipment….dads brothers mine repair shop is still down the road where they have a side building they done scoop batteries in. I grew up plunderin around while men were welding, cuttin, machining, and doin all kinds of work on underground equipment. Granny’s trailer was in the same lot so we just walked around checkin things out. Dad was one of the best repairmen/electrician in these parts..
I wonder the same thing myself.
Anyone see Cam walking around?
Thanks, Pal and THIS as as close as Iwant to be to a crowd and all the big stuff. As we know, it all runs the same. I gave my key collection to my son-in-law the surveyor and maybe it'll help him get out of trouble as they did for me.Out of the loop and glad of it. Thanks again and God Bless Yall!
🤣🤣🤣 yeah after 3 days you are definitely tired of being around lots of people lol
Thanks man, peace
@@PAmining I can't handle crowds but the machines would be wonderful as long as I could play a little! Bless YAll!
Holy moly is this Justin or friggin James Bond..! 😂Love ya brother..wish I coulda went
😁😎
Excellent tour PA 👍👍👍
Loved every minute of it.
Bet you were like a big kid in a candy shop... I know i would have been. 😁
Haha, I've definitely calmed down a bit from my over excitement when I was a kid 😄 I usually get excited over the unusual things that aren't seen often. For example my favorite machine featured from Komatsu was the ZT44 drill. That was something I spent a bit of time checking out and would love to see how that preforms against the Epiroc D65. But thanks buddy glad you enjoyed it!
So in 20-25 years do you think you will be doing a retrospective video on any of these pieces of equipment in PA? Wonder how many of these will last as long as many of the units you typically cover for us. Thanks for bringing us with you.
Possibly! You never know! I really enjoy doing the walk arounds. It's just fun showing all the different angles and parts of the machine
Woah,the brand new 995
21.
Thats a stout looking high drive dozer.
Really Big Money Here!!!😮
Thanks for the good coverage.
My pleasure! 😁 Thanks for watching!
Amazing wheel dozer🎉
The Concrete floor must be extremely thick to support the massive wheeled machines.
@That38Guy That floor is definitely constructed with very thick concrete. However, it also contains a huge amount of reinforcement bars. The steel re-bar is a must have, to be able to resist the weight of those gigantic machines. It would be interesting to know the actual specifications of this floor.
Justin, nice video, I thought you'd be there and was hoping to run into you. Until you actually see the equipment in person, its so hard to tell the real size. I thought the show was a little smaller than in the past, but it was still a good time. I was surprised John Deere wasn't there??
@richardjones9282 John Deere equipment can be fairly large, but for the most part it’s built for construction projects and quarries. I don’t think the company offers equipment that is designed for large scale mining operations. As an example, John Deere has a very impressive wheel loader that is rated at right around 10 cubic yards capacity. In the mining industry that capacity is not high enough in most cases. In modern mining I don’t believe you will see wheel loaders below 15 - 16 cubic yards capacity. Only exception would be old equipment that is almost at the end of its working life. Such as a CAT 992C with a 12.5 cubic yard bucket.
@@williamhall9204 I agree, JD is mainly seen in use for construction. They have been at Mine Expo in the past, just surprised they weren't there this time.
For sure! Next show I should definitely do a post or video so more people know I'm going to be there so we can meet up. I was more surprised that Volvo wasn't there.
Fantastic video Mr PA.
Thank you kindly, glad you enjoyed it! :)
Liebherr dozer design looks very original 😂
They're all at it. CAT and Komatsu buy the rival company and paint the equipment in yellow 🟡
@@craigsibley8161 yeah I noticed the Komatsu loader was a LeTourneau.
@@davidmorgan8837 👍
@davidmorgan8837 Yes they are unique in design. Liebherr uses a hydrostatic drive system on its dozers. Liebherr dozers do have a very solid reputation in the industry. Unfortunately Liebherr hasn’t yet developed a dozer in the D11 or D475 weight class. The dozer in this video is really maxed out with safety features. After the show it probably will be shipped to Australia. That’s just my guess. The Australians have extremely comprehensive safety regulations, regarding mining equipment.
I don't think you'll see a bigger dozer from liebherr or another manufacturers anytime soon. The operational cost of a D11 is almost twice that of a D10. The ideal market for a big dozer is the D10 size. Sure you may need two to match the production of an 11, but the cost of an additional operator outweighs the operational and maintenance cost of the tractor. Cheers!
when did Firestone go big??
@roberthumberston8803 Firestone has been producing large earthmover tires for a long time. The company was definitely selling large earthmover tires in the early 1980’s, and possibly even further back than that.
I didn't Liebherr, because I love her.😂
yeahhhhhh
Love to run that 2350 a min..
I spy with my little eye Cam from Tekmo?
Só faltou a TEREX
Yeah sadly long gone 😔
too much electronic junk in them
Some of it is way over the top, especially the autonomous stuff . I cannot ever see that working in the real world. But the basic operational electronics is absolutely not avoidable in this equipment. Spend some time on an old 992 A and then get in something like a 988H and you won’t want to look back. Take my word for it. 😂👍👍🇺🇸
@@brianw8963 The autonomous equipment is in the real world, some mines in Australia have had autonomous haul trucks for 10 years or better and autonomous trains even longer than that.
@@leetalon8770 I’m sure it can work in some situations, just my old school resistance poking through a bit. 👍👍🇺🇸
Electric 👎 Diesel is the king.
In the HR Dept of the Alberta Oilsands they interview Robot engineers, they can't fill the seats with human operators, thanks to drugs, booze, so also on large farms, a robot can drive without falling asleep. Sadly it's here to stay.
See if you can get a day pass at Cat Proving Grounds in AZ, or visit a JD Farm days at their field days in AZ. See balers bale hay with a empty cab.
