Very cool game! This is the only one in the Gamemaster series I don't have. I want to save up and get this at some point. I'm currently playing Shogun with my father, took about an hour to set up and we've probably put in 3-4 hours of gameplay so far. Long game to play but I'm enjoying it.
I think you can remove the masts when it gets to the boarding part since they are no longer in play. I had this game and loved everything about it, the ships, pieces, board, box, booklets and easy to learn gameplay. I had it under my bed when the bathroom sink pipe on the other side of the wall had a slow leak. The carpet got soaked and ruined the box and board. It was in near mint condition before that too. I moved it to my parents garage long ago. I'm pretty sure it's still there. I should salvage the plastic pieces. I also have Conquest of the Empire and it's cool but there's too many rules to keep track of for me.

Ya think that maybe you could play this game by getting your ship to the other side of the game to get on the other ship and fight your way to the captain and fight the captain and beat the captain and win!? THAT would be cool!

Picked up a copy 2 yrs ago for about $46 Cdn. It was in great condition (box too) with all pieces and no broken parts Fun game, rare.
