Love this podcast but definitely need to sort audio issues out boys. So hard to hear guests whilst playing through the car radio on full volume. Lawrence kenwright episode was the same. Hope you get it sorted. 👍🏻
Lads, stick a bit of foam under your mic stands and you should be sweet, a high pass filter and compression after the fact on the audio should help as well. RUclips that if you don’t know what I’m on about, or message me, I’d help.

I hadn't heard of Darren and this was an interesting and illuminating chat. One of the good things about podcasts is that its a chance to have a proper conversation, as opposed to the many soundbite laden, rushed 'interviews' and discussions that are anything but. I can understand why you didn't tell him to take his coat off and look like he was stopping!
During this, I looked up the 'Karen' Till incident on RUclips. This wasn't Darren's finest hour. I often advise young black men regarding to how to respond to and interact with the police and this was very much an example of what not to do. At least he realised this and showed contrition.
Re the sound, perhaps consider two mics &/or suspending them from a frame, rather than having on the table, susceptible to the knocking of the people and the rocking of the table.

These issues weren't caught on the day, but it's definitely a lesson learned for the future! Problems aside, we thought it'd be a shame to not put it out there - so a lot of work was put in afterwards to try and make it easier on the ears - but sadly, there's only so much that can be done.
Hope you managed to enjoy it though, despite the issues!
