Great song. Great band. Hugely underappreciated. Should have been even more influential than they already are.

I was working at Peaches Records and Tapes at the time this album arrived in our bins. This is when I really got into Pretty Things which are still alive an well today.

I remember the Peaches chain, and even more so, the album cover with the gorgeous girl with curly hair. Oh yeah, the music was great as well.

How good is that? The definition of 70s classic rock. If I could have written one song in my life, this would be it.

This is one of the better British bands that never made it big in America. That's probably because we had such lame-assed radio stations. Would you believe that this is the only song that I ever heard on the radio?

Great performance of a very good song from an underrated album. The Silk Torpedo CD has been reissued and the mastering job is first rate.

Silk Torpedo and Savage Eye are The Pretty Things 2 BEST albums IMHO. Some will argue about their late 60s as the essentials, but Silk and Savage were the goods. Its just a shame that they have to cut the song. Why??????

Curiously I find Silk Torpedo to be the one CD of all their Gold reissues to have been remastered far too loudly. You can see on Audacity where they've hacked off all of the sound wave peaks to bring the volume up. I wish they hadn't dome it like that because it gives you a headache after a while! Or did you mean that there's a brand new version coming out soon? Still, it's a brilliant album anyway, I agree.

Too bad Gordon Edwards (rhythm guitar here) wrecked himself with heroine. A brilliant pianist, guitarist, vocalist and songwriter - at his best with Jack Green, as evidenced by most of the songs on this album.
