I actually like the additional buttons better in the interior instead of that third LCD panel for climate controls in more expensive Audis. Very well done interior.
We took delivery of the exact same model (orange Prestige loaded) as in this review 3 weeks ago. Opinion? This car is WONDERFUL. Odd that your 360-degree camera didn't work; ours works fine and makes parking easier. In stop & go commute traffic with A/C on, I'm averaging 24 mpg, which was a pleasant surprise. No, it's not a rocket ship (I just returned an S3 at lease-end, so I know what a Corvette-beating small Audi can do). But the higher torque combined with the 8-speed transmission will make this car move much faster than you would expect in the real world. The sound system is phenomenal. The 20-inch wheels come with wider tires than stock 19-inchers, and I still can take my favorite freeway transition curves at 70+ without tire squeal. I just retired, and I settled on the Q3 for a great combination of price, luxury, performance, AND ANALOG CONTROLS FOR THE IMPORTANT STUFF. The touchscreen is handy for infotainment, but I'm so glad Audi stuck with analog for everything else. If word gets out, I suspect the Q3 could put a bite on Q5 sales, especially since the Q5 still forces you to live with an iPad glued to the dash.
rugger8136 ditto, same position for me. I test drive the previous generation Q3 when it was first introduced in N America and was unimpressed; headed to the GTi instead. I’ll have to check out this new gen Q3. Big enough for me.
I know this is an older video, but I am looking into getting the Q3 2019/2020 and the offroad mode 100% attracts me. I know this isn't an offroad vehicle, but having an entry-level luxury vehicle like a Q3 that I could take offroad/snowy roads is 100% important. Living 2hrs from Toronto, the snow gets pretty bad, but I really want the 4 rings.
No, the outside audio wasn't just ambient noise, it was also too low. I usually keep the RUclips vol bar in the middle and videos are usually fine but i had to turn that up then turn up the volume on my headphones, but then the volume in the ads and the interior shots was blaring in my ears.
This is a cute entry level luxury suv from Audi I do think the bright colors make it a more lively car. But hey at least it’s WAYYY better than that depressing gla from Mercedes
My last Audi was a 2016 S3 - the same as an A3, but with 292hp. The S3 is a rocket ship. Ignoring the blistering performance of the S3 for a moment, the front of the S3 and the Q3 (either generation) is about the same size and comfort. The back seat of the new Q3 is way bigger, and of course storage is no comparison. Now that I am 70 and retired, the Q3 is much more practical. But the teenager that lives in my head wants an RS3. What can I say?
Derek L. I’ll wait for the new MDX Type S. If Acura doesn’t give us a new model for the MDX.... the least they can do is give us an MDX on steroids! If they follow the interior design model of their new RDX AND offer it in a Type S...... I’ll stop looking at the Audi’s altogether!
Really liked the banter with Clint and yourself. Good duo. Personally I'd get the new A3 over this but that's because I like driving. Very inoffensive offering by Audi and should sell well
Exactly the model we're getting, sorry to hear no memory seats. Looking forward to driving this one. We've been very happy with our last two A4's but wanted to change it up with the Q3 with new exterior/interior.

beri232 Mercedes has always had poor build quality. I’ve seen so many video reviews of how everything you touch in the Mercedes would creak and make noises with pressure applied, whereas you get little to none of that on Audi’s. The GTi comes with the TSI engine, and in the video I saw that the Q3 a TFSI engine, which is what comes in the Golf R. With only 228hp, I wonder what turbo they put on it.

This is so refreshing in a world full of boring, bland, and cheap crossovers. I guess that's what you get with a great German luxury brand like Audi, even in a base model. I really like it for what it is. Styling is great. 0-60 in 7 seconds is more than good enough in a small family vehicle. Plus the 8-speed is great, and so are the color options. 2 thumbs up for me.
As an Audi fan, I actually like the new Q3. Looks like a mash up of a Q5 and Q8. Looks like Audi is continuing the trend of offering more standard features than the other two players in town. Doesn't seem to be that sporty, but I don't think the target demographic for crossovers - moms in the burbs - really cares about that. I can see my SO loving this
We had a different person filming us for this video. He doesn't do it very often so we apologize if some of the views were different than what you're used to.
On the side by side shot of the orange and blue Q3 in front of the mural, I noticed the blue one had a side sensor on the front bumper that is usually use for the 360 camera. 🤔😎 That sensor isn't there for the orange one.
Just a FYI regarding the 20" wheels vs the 19" wheels. I just ordered a 2020 Q3 Premier S line. Of course I wanted the 20" wheels that's on this one he's reviewing. I ended up ordering one with 19" wheels? Why? Because the 20" wheels require SUMMER TIRES ONLY. Now if you live in areas where snow and ice aren't an issue, you're good. But I live in the Midwest where crappy winter weather is the norm. Trying to find a quality All Season tire for the 20" wheel is difficult. Not to mention, super $$$$$. If you're ok with buying winter tires and swapping them out each fall, that's up to you. But just know you're going to have to pay serious $$ for doing that. Although I don't think the 19" wheels are as sporty, knowing that I have true All season tires that will handle the winter weather evens it out. BTW, I've driven both the Q3 of course and the Volvo XC40. I loved both, but the Audi has better quality interior, nicer tech and the seats are more comfortable. I couldn't stand the sports seats in the Volvo, they were too hard and uncomfortable. The sport seats in the Q3 were very comfortable. Can't wait until my Orange Q3 comes in this October!!
Thanks, Sofyan for another great review. It appears you got it down! I'm thinking about this vehicle when I return the lease on my S5 Sportback. I hope the Q3 is capable of towing a 3 seater Sea-Doo, I'll look into it.
Test drove the q3, interior is excellent and the drive/handing exceptional for a heavy suv, just wish it had a little bit more power. The price here in Canada is $57 grand includes all fees and taxes for the fully loaded technik package too much $$$ went with a 2018 CPO a3 instead 4100kms.
Does Audi have a brake hold function? I always see a blank button next to the electronic parking brake... Or am I just unaware of it. Like Mercedes I found out you have to press the brake hard to engage the hold function.
You did a great job and the buttons or probably better than the other screens on there other Audi’s and I really want you to love my comment. Oh and “Redline Reviews” or Sofyan I agree that blue is gorgeous.
Sofyan!! It looks a bit like a mini Q8 to you!!! Man it looks surely the mini Q8 to me. But that's a very good thing actually.. now this looks nicer and prettier than the previous generation. BTW orange is definitely better than the blue .. I would buy it with the same specs as the one you tested. Also I wish they make an RS version and put the 5 cylinder from the RS3... it will strongly compete with the GLA45/GLC63, X3M/X4M and Stelvio QV.
So if you have the navigation package you still need to pay for a subscription to get google earth in the virtual cockpit and the main screen? And if there is a subscription and you don’t pay for it what do you lose?
The subscription is crazy-overpriced and bundled into odd 18 and 30-month packages that cost at least $55 a month for access to 4G LTE and Google Earth. On the older vehicles with Google Earth when you let the (3G) lapse it simply stopped updating the view but you could still see Google Earth. Now they simply tell you to buy a subscription and it reverts to normal map mode (which is perfectly fine). If you don't pay you lose access to anything that is powered by 4G: Audi Traffic (you still get XM traffic if you have an XM radio), hotspot, system voice recognition (separate from Alexa), and some other things like gas prices/weather/Alexa There are 3 different levels: Connect (free), Prime, and Plus. www.audiusa.com/technology/intelligence/audi-connect Keeping in mind that $55/month over 3 years is $1980, I didn't choose to renew after the trial. I did choose to renew it when it was my old Audi and it was $12/month on T-Mobile (now it's AT&T).
Sloping swoopy front ends are going away thanks to.... wait for it... Safety regulations aimed to make hitting pedestrians do less damage to said pedestrians. Thank you governments around the globe!
Always love your vids, but please return to POV for interiors it’s more engaging we can see things much better and clearer as well as not deal with whoever is behind the camera shaking and having to move their arms to get closer views of what your explaining at the moment
Despite repeating it over and over again in the video, this new Q3 is using the same Aisin AWF8F35 transmission as the VW Tiguan. It is not using anything made in-house from Audi or VW. In Europe instead you can get this with a 7-speed DSG, which is VW-made.
That’s a good move on Audi’s part in recognizing the needs and expectations of specific consumer markets. It’s probably the reason that the entire VW group with the exception of Bugatti consists of brands that survived the herd thinning that resulted in the exit of any of Volkswagen’s European competition in the US market and most of Audi’s European competition in its lower markets that ended by the mid 1990s. In those markets the North American market comes with an expectation of minimal maintenance.
Audi website says the Prestige model does have a top down camera. That said, you still get a ton more features for a lot less money from a CX-5 Signature model.
That's correct, we think the orange one in the video was actually a Premium Plus with options since it didn't have the top down camera view. Also, you bring up a good point with the CX-5 however, the infotainment tech in the Audi is FAR superior to the Mazda's.
Technology is much better in this Q3 since it’s borrowing much from the A6/Q8s at 1/2-2/3 cost. Cx-5 more fun but the signature is trying to hard to be lux at a premium price. If I were to get cx-5, I’d get a more basic version that had the nice engine... put on leatherette seat covers, stick on some wood and call it a day
This is the exact one I would purchase. My wife would love the color, and I would love everything else. Nice vehicle. Still a bit pricey in my view though.
Totally agree, we're on our 2nd A4 unfortunately the A4 styling is getting boring. Just saw the 2020 A4 with the new exterior styling but the old repeat interior.
It’s incredible how many options come as standard. In Europe, Audi has a totally opposite pricing strategy. Everything comes as an option and at a hefty price. Mine cost nearly €55K; it’s a S Line trim, and yet I’d still have to pay extra cash for 19” wheels, an extra arm for the sunroof and a kidney and a half for the B&O sound system or the black optic package. Should I have wanted to opt out for the S Line interior too and then I’d also have to pay an eye for that matter... Shame on you Audi😤
how can this vehicle only get 22mpg ! my 2014 5.7 hemi AWD JVL 300C gets 20 mpg combined. i dont understand the need for this vehicle in Audi line up . like the pequin brand shirt clint!
Q5 is 7 inches longer and has only 1 more inch of rear seat space and only like 2 more cubic feet with the seats up, is that how the number are supposed to work Sofyan🤔 also I got a good feeling the SQ3 and RSQ3 are gonna come to the US finally
Except parking spaces haven't grown in size so that's why they have all these parking sensors and cameras to help people park! Not to mention all the potential dents from opening the doors.
Audi-designed transmission? C'mon, you know it's the same Aisin found in numerous FWD-based vehicles, including: VW Tiguan, VW Atlas, VW Jetta, VW Golf(?), Volvo XC40, BMW X1 and X2, etc. Also, Turbo Blue is nothing like Miami Blue haha! The latter has noticeably more green in it.
This is such an important piece of technical information that Sofyan just glossed over and that too incorrectly. Was wondering now if Audi designed their own auto gear box or was it their DSG.... my current Q3 has the Aisin box
Does anyone else feel that it’s not really at all quiet driving on the highway? Smooth yes, but you hear the road and wind pretty good while driving with the windows up.
I just took delivery of a 2022 Q3 S-Line after driving my 2018 S4 for several years - it IS a louder on the highway, but I think that's a combination of both the panoramic sunroof and the summer tires - but it's still more quite and comfortable than most of it's competitors (besides the Benz, which is creak-city if you start touching trim pieces, etc). Also, 360 camera, power folding mirrors, and memory seats are available. I think the Prestige trim was dropped and Premium Plus is now the highest trim. Obviously, S-Line, Black Optics, and other packages are available.
12:00 not sure what you drove 4 years ago but it probably was not a Q3. The first version does 0-100 in 7 seconds as well and it is not comparable to an MK5 golf unless it is a GTI. Considering the 644k subscribers, i would get the facts right prior to posting these videos.
Your odds of something going wrong with a used luxe German auto go up like 1000%. Reliability is horrible. No one should want a used anything German over a new.....
Would you guys rather have a Q3 or A3? 🤔
Redline Reviews neither. I’d rather have a GTI or a Golf R.
GTI
Wasn't prepared for a Pop Quiz.
We would rather have normalized audio. You have a nice voice and cadence, but your recent videos are so quiet, we can barely hear you
Redline Reviews none I don’t like how the a3 looks and don’t wanna be seen driving a suv I would want the a4
I actually like the additional buttons better in the interior instead of that third LCD panel for climate controls in more expensive Audis. Very well done interior.
Paul M me too. More functional and the knobs look and feel great.
I'm not an Audi fan but this Q3 looks fancy, sporty, elegant, and really usable!!!

I really wish Audi would have put the A4 interiors into the Q3 and they would have had money to give you a better key than the switch blade...
Totally agree, we're on our 2nd A4 unfortunately the A4 styling is getting boring. Just saw the 2020 A4 with the new exterior styling but the old repeat interior.
I was ready to order one until I found out no Ventilated seats. I live in the desert. It’s a must have. I guess it’s a CX-5 or Hyundai/Kia for me.
John Edmond definitely CX-5 no argument there
Ventilated seats have never worked well and are loud. Time to park in the shade
Hi Clint. 😉
I'm not at all a fan of crossovers but I'd totally drive an SQ3, not Q3 as a daily driver family vehicle. A Golf-R on stilts.
DangerousDan if you want to drive a SQ3 then you have to move to Europe
Love the orange - much better than first Q3 :)
Really looks good for a small CUV. See Mercedes this is how you make a small CUV.
Q3 is just entry level like A3 until move to A4, A6 etc
It’s incredible how many options come as standard. In Europe, Audi has a totally opposite pricing strategy. Everything comes as an option and at a hefty price.
Mine cost nearly €55K; it’s a S Line trim, and yet I’d still have to pay extra cash for 19” wheels, an extra arm for the sunroof and a kidney and a half for the B&O sound system or the black optic package. Should I have wanted to opt out for the S Line interior too and then I’d also have to pay an eye for that matter...
Shame on you Audi😤
The review suggests buttons are a step down from a touchscreen. Buttons are ok.
You need to clean the sensor on your camera. Look at the lower right...
cant wait for the rsq3
how can this vehicle only get 22mpg ! my 2014 5.7 hemi AWD JVL 300C gets 20 mpg combined. i dont understand the need for this vehicle in Audi line up . like the pequin brand shirt clint!
Q5 is 7 inches longer and has only 1 more inch of rear seat space and only like 2 more cubic feet with the seats up, is that how the number are supposed to work Sofyan🤔 also I got a good feeling the SQ3 and RSQ3 are gonna come to the US finally
Can you plz do a third row comparison of the tahoe and suburban
he mentioned in his Tahoe RST video that the 3rd row space stays the same and the extra length of the suburban goes to the trunk
When I can pick up one of these for $25K?
Interior looks like a colorful volkswagen jetta... if cadillac did that youd mention it
I love how all car makers are making everything bigger then make a whole new car to slot below their cars to fill the class their cars used to be in 😂
Except parking spaces haven't grown in size so that's why they have all these parking sensors and cameras to help people park! Not to mention all the potential dents from opening the doors.
I do not like how you did the interior review. I like when you do a body cam view and do a walk up to the car.
would be complete if it had exuast outlets
What A Nice Review Of 2019 Audi Q3. 😀
Disappointed these don't have the D-shaped steering wheel that Canada and EU models have
@John Szeto Yes. I do not think they come with the flat-bottom in the USA
No cooled seats 😭 almost the perfect suv!
Why is volume so low on this video?
$34k for the base model? Sold .... that’s cheap
Unfortunately the great design is ruined by underpowered engine and overpriced prestige trim.
_kademan_ V60 it’s a entry level subcompact what do you want a fucking HEMI
Its just me but darn the DRL’s resembles the 3 bar DRLs on the s550 mustangs. 😁
I like this car...
It’s actually even better than the Q5
Does audi off the S line in a lot of car and its all just looks?
YOU GUYS MAKE A CUTE COUPLE
12:00 not sure what you drove 4 years ago but it probably was not a Q3. The first version does 0-100 in 7 seconds as well and it is not comparable to an MK5 golf unless it is a GTI. Considering the 644k subscribers, i would get the facts right prior to posting these videos.
No memory seats? Even our 5 year old Tiguan has that.
VW Alltrack/Sportwagen cargo space is 30.4/66.5, why would you want a SUV like this? I'd much prefer the Alltrack over this Q3
Fun fact: Audi is bringing the RSQ3's to Canada
is this the same platform as a Volkswagen Tiguan?
Christopher Jellinick the first gen Tiguan not the new Tiguan on the MQB platform
@@Vegas_Des thx for the info
I love cars that are orange 😌
Ugggghh Clint is so cute
🧚♂️
19mpg in city???
Please review the Q8. It's been out for a while now.
We're on it! Just waiting for Audi to send us one.
I like it but i'd rather buy a 2014-2017 SQ5 and tune it.
Your odds of something going wrong with a used luxe German auto go up like 1000%. Reliability is horrible. No one should want a used anything German over a new.....
