Thats exactly how mine came. Packed really well too. Good job guys!! 👍 The only thing that was missing was the directions for the dust boot installation.
So with the long mill can I expand it when I need to do big projects and then shrink it back to a smaller setup for regular use or is it a big pain to swap it back and forth
A big machine can do big projects and small projects, but if you have a small machine you can't do big projects. It might be easier to get the largest machine you need since it won't be a limitation. Switching between X rail lengths is possible, but would take around an hour or two every time you wanted to do that, so I think it will be more convenient to get one size and stick with it.
When I got my MK2 30 and I unboxed it, the Y rails looked to have been used on another machine, beat up, dinged up...Sienci replaced them. Later I seen that the lead screws were shaped like an S instead of straight. Sienci replaced those. I have no idea what happened to allow those items to be sent out, but they got replaced.
Hi Steve, we don't send used rails out ever, but you might have gotten the rails before we made additional improvements to our packing process. There are now additional checks and QA processes in place that other customers won't have to deal with what you did.
