I have loved rock gardens my whole life. When my parents bought their house in 1972 in southern Idaho in desert country, and after bringing in 300+ dump truck loads of fill soil, they proceeded to landscape their 3 lot home using local source lava rock. Many weekends we would take drives to go rock hunting. Mom & dad built retaining walls for the driveway, steps and gardens for the front of the house and for many other projects. Love them! Great ideas you have.
Thx a bunch. Short, sweet and to the point. I'm having lawn removed and dry creek going around Birch tree that is offset near a corner. Downspout diverter will lead the water from winter rains towards the creek and not pool on pavers. Hope it doesn't look fake even if it is.
Wow, sounds like you've got an awesome project in the works! 🌿 Love the idea of combining the dry creek with your birch tree - that's going to look so natural and cool. Smart move with the downspout diverter too, it's always good to work with the water rather than against it. Don't worry about it looking fake - the key is in the details. Use different sizes of rocks, add some curves to your creek, and throw in a few native plants along the edges. Before you know it, it'll look like it's always been there! Glad our video could help spark some ideas. Can't wait to hear how it turns out - bet it's going to look amazing! Keep rocking that garden! 🪨🌳
