I just stumbled upon your channel today and love it! Proud owner of a 1978 F250 4x4 myself that went through an entire restoration. My only advice to you is to ditch the old C6 completely in favor of a built E4OD. Having lockup and overdrive in that old truck is just a world of a difference better. I made the mistake of using my C6 (after my 10 year restoration) and as soon as I got it out on the road I was disappointed and was already contemplating an E4OD swap. 18 months later, took it down and did the swap. Even got to keep the married NP205. Now people look at me funny when I am on the highway keeping up with them with the windows rolled up and AC on!
Seriously, such an underrated channel!!!!! Keep up the phenomenal work. Voice over, time lapse, and attention to detail are all absolute top shelf. Thanks for sharing your journeys!!!!
Most def keep on with your new style, a little dialogue goes a long way. And thanks for keeping the music low, some you tubers have it cranked up and you can’t hear shit. Keep on keepin on, brother.
Man I love your videos. The way you explain things even showing mistakes is perfect and I like the voice over the time warp . And the music vs the narration is perfect
Hi Austin, great project. I really like your videos. Extended time lapse is ok for me, I appreciate all of information you give us. I find the music on most time lapses some annoying, but with the volume a little bit low will be ok. Thanks for sharing and keep the good work. Take care!
I had a buddy in CT who had an 06 Chevy truck as well that rusted through 3 brake lines before 100k. I've never had one rust through on any vehicle. It's so crazy how differently vehicles are effected by just where they live
After watching your trophy truck series I have thought you were going to crown Vic swap it. LOL. Love on your commentary and content; I have to admit I binged watched the crown & trophy series. Keep it up and I’m looking forward to your upcoming projects. 🤘🏼
Looks like it will be a fun project. The body work plans intrigue me the most. (building/working with tools in limited access areas) I like the extended time-lapse with voice over giving more info. If there is no info to explain, start and end is all I need. I could go either way regarding music during time-lapse. Some tubers play bits of normal time sound, during time-lapse. I think I have seen you do that too. I like that. Definitely want to see a "tools I use" video, with links. Thanks for your videos.
Keep doing what your doing bro! Be you. It's what makes your channel unique. Your content is too good not to hit it big eventually. Don't worry about the haters, as long as your smiling it's all background noise. Just keep managing family time and don't lose yourself in the work. You don't get those years back. Cheers! PS, I agree with your wife, the trophy truck is perfect the way you built it
Dude I'm absolutely loving your channel. The amazing papa show is one of my favorites right now. Found you through the trophy truck build and looking forward to seeing what becomes of the great looking truck. Thanks for all of the work you out in to making these vids 👍
I have a few bumpsides and now Im gonna be glued to this series build on this dentside . I like the latest editing style and your voice over of the long drawn out process stuff. Its a much better pace watching those not so exciting parts sped up with descriptive voice over. FITech EFI is what I chose at first. It didnt stay long and I now am running Holley Sniper EFI simply because it actually works . FITech was unbelievably problematic and constantly giving me problems. Hopefully your experience with it will be better
I don't know if you keep up with comments on these older shows, but I thought I would mention that I am mezmorized by these videos.... I absolutely love them. There is a channel, FixItNick, I believe who uses a cheap adjusting office chair to remove doors and bumpers and stuff. It might make it easier for you.
I try to keep up with the comments because every once in a while I get some great wisdom like this! I will be on the lookout at goodwill for one of those chairs, Thanks!
I like the timelapse and voiceover approach, with the music. I've edited a bunch of youtube videos myself, and struggled to find a good balance between the three, but I think you've nailed it! :)
time lapse, low volume audio, the audio mix, and all that is great. If I want it faster, I'd speed it up, and if I wanted to skip stuff, I'd skip it. Really cool work on the hood scratch.
Austin, I want to Thank you. Thank you for reading All of my comments in all of your vids. Thank you for answering them! You are in a very small group of tubers that actually do that. Everyones says " Like, Subscribe, Comment" etc but hardly Anyone actually replies to comments. Thank you for being so Nice while replying to my comments. Thank you for putting out so many Great videos. Thank you for doing so many Great Projects. I truly enjoy watching your videos. It is soooo nice to have good content to watch while being Quarantined. Thank you for being there for us :-)
Dan, I predict that very soon (12 months) he just won't have the time to answer everyone's comment. Right around 30K subscribers RUclipsrs run out of time to answer comments, they WANT to, but content and editing and that habit of putting food on the table for the family, gets in the way. Another indicator is percentage of likes to views. Austin is under 10 percent, when he hits about 15 % (hardly anybody goes over that) he'll be swamped.
Dang, you know your numbers. The best part of having a small niche channel is being able to interact with the viewers, and as exciting as it is to watch the channel grow, it's equally sad that I can't reply to every comment I want to.
When I started this build I had like 29 subscribers and it took me 6 months to get those. People's time is valuable and I am honored people are using it to watch my videos and thrilled that people are finding motivation in these builds.
Just watched the trophy truck series over the last 2 days. Your channel is pretty awesome. I fancy myself a capable fabricator, but it makes me wonder what I could accomplish if I had that kind of space and equipment. Maybe I should work at a hot rod shop so I can play with the toys without having to buy them.
Honestly, that's not a bad idea. I have a good relationship with a few local shops that I used to do free or cheap work at when they would get a really unusual project just to get some knowledge.
Hey Austin, I subbed because This truck is from my time and you can sure polish the hell out of it. If you like bringing these back from the Arizona heat, keep an eye out for another and I will leave it at your shop for you to work your magic on. It polished Real Well. New Sub, Thanks, Gerry
I really enjoyed your trophy truck build I'm a big fan of the Crown Victoria so it was a lot of useful information for me I would really like to see you build a Rock Bouncer I think that should be your next project...
I thought about that, but a dedicated rock crawler is a little outside my wheel-house. I am leaning towards a general 4x4 that capable enough to safely go out without another vehicle needed, but comfortable enough to cruise around town when the weather is nice with the family
My 2nd truck was a 78 F150 super cab long bed. Got about 8 mph and could move just bout anything. Love that tuck. This one looks an awful lot like it. Mine was orange though.
Thank you for doing this series on the 79! You sir are insanely talented and def know your craft well. So happy I found your channel! Please stick with Ford rebuilds. (Ford Biased) in the beginning stages of a 79 super cab rebuild myself. Albeit my project has about 10 times the body issues. Lol I’ll stay tuned in 👍
1st time seeing your channel. Definitely like seeing the whole process. A lot of shows put up a lot of video that ends up not really teaching anything. Also, the flavor of the build looks really practical and not just a bolt on extravaganza. Subscribed and can't wait to see more.
Cool truck! I had a 78. Same truck except round headlights. 400M shares a ton of parts with the 351 Cleveland. (Heads, cam, timing chain and oil pump) or do what I did and get a 429/460.
Don't worry about making yourself like other RUclipsrs. Keep your style. That's also why I subscribed, besides using a freakin' Crown Vic as the basis for an offroader, I mean, come on...
Stumbled across your channel it was super cool when I realized you where a local Arizona boy too i subscribed instantly will be watching all the new videos and just watch TT series look like fun
Just finished the entire, awesome trophy truck series, all watched back to back over the last two days. Looking forward to this build as well. You are a true renaissance man. Skills and experience in everything, with such refreshing positive attitude. Thanks for sharing your day. Joel.....

Love the videos you got me interested on the crown vic to trophy truck then seen 1979 build you have me hocked I have 4 1979"s so can not wait to see what you do.
Cool project, I’m happy the owner chose to keep the original paint to, a bit of roughness suits a truck like this. Your editing is great, no need to change anything imo. 👍🏻
Big fan of the dent side Fords. Your video skills are very good, I like the longer work sessions with voiceover, and the music is fine, but I would cut the music volume by 5% or so to make it more of an accent to the vids and a bit less prominent.
I like the longer time lapse as well especially when you talk about the method and tools you are using as I pick up many tidbits for my own projects this way. Like the channel!
That F350 sure is purdy but living in Arizona it's whole life has its advantages that's probably the one and only thing that the peeling about living in California not too many vehicles have a lot of rot
Swap a 460 in put a shift kit in the trans. Wheels and tires. Then re paint her the factory color. Thats what I would do anyway. I prefer the fe motors over the 351 400 and 460.
Owner doesn't need the air pump, I assume you aren't in the valley right now. Shoot me an email @ acthecarguy@gmail.com with your info and i'll see if I can fit it in a USPS flat rate box
@@AustinCoulson yes, i like them just fine, f-350 is bone stock 400 low maintenance very reliable and i have started it in very low temperatures -20f with no problems, bronco 400 has eldabrock setup, carb, manifold, cam, and headman ceramic long tubes and its pretty fast.
compressed air (male quick connect welded to a gutted spark plug) or the rope trick (drop piston, open valve, feed in rope and raise piston to keep valve from dropping)
I like how this video is with the music, voice over etc. voice over helps explain everything!
I like the narration. I'd turn the music and tool sounds down to 15-20%. Just a tad loud in my cans. Great videos.

I don't understand why this channel hasn't blown up, this is some of the best content I've seen
Thanks, I really appreciate comments like this
I liked the video style while you polished the hood. And the rest of the video.
Longer format with voice over, works well. The original paint came out well. It still needs the patina. Great job
excellent format dont change a thing... best ive seen so far and I watch alot of YT auto builds, youve got a cute kid
man i am so stoked on your Chanel real work with real world budgets!
Hi Austin, great project. I really like your videos. Extended time lapse is ok for me, I appreciate all of information you give us. I find the music on most time lapses some annoying, but with the volume a little bit low will be ok. Thanks for sharing and keep the good work. Take care!
Count me in Mr Austin. I don't miss any episodes of tha amazing papa show. Cheers from Seattle. We are suffering here with a horrendous 83F, ouch!

Great video, I’ll be the first to admit that I’m no good with body work and was impressed how you brought the paint back to that finish 👍
These old vehicles from dry parts of the country amaze me. My 2006 Chevy truck was ready for the crusher in 2016 with 135k on the clock.
I had a buddy in CT who had an 06 Chevy truck as well that rusted through 3 brake lines before 100k. I've never had one rust through on any vehicle. It's so crazy how differently vehicles are effected by just where they live

I can't CV swap everything I work on. Although that would make fixing them easier
Just watched all the trophy truck episodes in 3 days. My first vehicle I drove was a 79' F150 4x4 so needles to say I'll be watching this series too.
I had a 79 F100 Ranger 2wd with a 351C, Reg Cab, Long bed. Loved that truck
This is awesome. Love the old Ford and the direction the owner wants to go in. 102 degrees ouch. Its windy and in the 40's here right now.
It's already hit 108. It's funny we have the same insulation, but for different temperature extremes

So cool, thats a lucky customer to agree with what you want. I know youll go the extra mile on this one.
It’s great to finally see a good channel in the great state of AZ
I love this State. Except in August when I dream of moving to the Arctic...
Austin Coulson keep up the good work bud!!!
I wish I found this channel way sooner
Hell yeah. Best body style ever made
I dont understand cars but i love the work

Looking forward to the rebuild. Just bought a 78 f250 4x4 regular cab with 351M. Also going to rebuild engine.
I love you channel don't care for the music tho

Welcome to the channel and thanks for the comment. I tend to pass on jobs that are just bolt-ons, as there is little excitement in those.
just sub'd. thanks for putting the time in to video the trophy truck! Keep it coming!
Very excited about this project. It's a beautiful truck. Also, your editing and time lapse format are spot on. Thanks again for all you do.
Sign us up for all the episodes! This will be good watching
Nice format. I like it enough to try and do the same.
I absolutely love this channel its a huge inspiration for me! Keep up the great work.
I'm surprised you didn't buy a bronco. I'd love a bronco project series!
Me too, 100%. I've owned 4 Broncos and loved every one. Well, except the fuel mileage.
Cool truck! I had a 78. Same truck except round headlights. 400M shares a ton of parts with the 351 Cleveland. (Heads, cam, timing chain and oil pump) or do what I did and get a 429/460.

I like the time lapses! You do great . love the videos I have seen.
Now that I see you are focusing on producing more great content like your trophy truck series.....Subed! Cheers!
That looks like a NP205. I just picked one up for my 86 F250.
Always liked this body style Ford
I hope you redid the drive shaft weld on the crown vic trophy build . The ends should be (one vertical and the other horizontal).
Glad I found your channel looking forward to see it grow an this and future builds
Just finished the entire, awesome trophy truck series, all watched back to back over the last two days. Looking forward to this build as well. You are a true renaissance man. Skills and experience in everything, with such refreshing positive attitude. Thanks for sharing your day. Joel.....
Np 203 is a full time transfer case and has a differential in the transfer case, np205 is what you have
correct. I get confused pre-np208
Finally someone with a 351m/400
Video and Time-Laps; in my Opinion perfect Audio, the longer Laps is very fine.
The Project is very nice - i want to see much more :-)
Thank`s

Very Cool project ..I own a '77 F-250

High end polish (I use this on vehicles over 60k value):
amzn.to/3buAZaO
Really good lower cost rubbing compound:
amzn.to/3dCuju3
Really good lower cost finishing polish:

Awesome videos. My dad had a 78 F150 Custom with the 300 straight 6. Been trying to find it
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the 300 I6
Keep up the good work I enjoy your videos 👍
Sweet truck..... when I build one, that is it
Fat fender garage makes some pretty cool a/c stuff for the dent sides.

Cool project, I’m happy the owner chose to keep the original paint to, a bit of roughness suits a truck like this.
Your editing is great, no need to change anything imo. 👍🏻
That rust under the drip rail will come straight back through.
I love the O.G. license plate.
I like the extended slo-mo with voice over and music.
Looking forward to another great build!!

You could replace the valve seals without removing the heads for very cheap. Mainly your labor.
I will probably end up doing that
I'm ready to see this come along. Its going to be sweet
Rad!! Looking forward to more
cwd 123 sasss'.
Supercool your a great builder. I'm looking forward to a resto mod style build as that's is what I like to do. Great job
I believe you have this setup just right
When I first bought my house my neighbor told me if I need help with anything to ask his son. He said "he aint too smart but he can lift stuff". lol
I like the longer time lapses. You show more detail than lots of other “car build” channels which I personally appreciate.

Keep it up on the time lapse voice over! 👍 I usually try to keep mine shorter but complete and faster, but I also usually don’t do voice overs
Hey, I’m out here visiting from 29 palms area. I could really use the air pump from the ford engine. Would you be willing to part with it
I'll ask the owner. My thought is he probably wants to retain all the original parts in case he sells it.
Owner doesn't need the air pump, I assume you aren't in the valley right now. Shoot me an email @ acthecarguy@gmail.com with your info and i'll see if I can fit it in a USPS flat rate box
Thank you for the vids. Love what you do.🇿🇦
Music and tool sound is good. Maybe a skosh less music.
Heck yea! Doing a '76 myself. Excited to watch this series.
Keep the voice over and longer time lapse
I own a 79 f-350,f36,4x4 std cab long and 79 xlt bronco, both 400 autos. Both trailer specials out of Wyoming, am i lucky or what?
Do you like the 400 in them?
@@AustinCoulson yes, i like them just fine, f-350 is bone stock 400 low maintenance very reliable and i have started it in very low temperatures -20f with no problems, bronco 400 has eldabrock setup, carb, manifold, cam, and headman ceramic long tubes and its pretty fast.
Is this the truck for sale in Turlock CA ....
No
Would have thought it would be worth charging valve stem seals, particularly if you can do it without lifting the heads.
It certainly might be. If everything tests good except the seals, I will replace them without doing a head job.
compressed air (male quick connect welded to a gutted spark plug) or the rope trick (drop piston, open valve, feed in rope and raise piston to keep valve from dropping)
