I was so skeptical when they announced this film, but it's just as good as the original, if not better. The use of color is amazing.

Blade Runner 2049 is absolutely fantastic on all fronts. This is how you make a sequel to a beloved property. This both pays great homage to the original and continues its story, but it also is its own thing and asks new questions. It both deals with the philosophical ideas from the original from a different point of view, as well as brings up entirely new ones. Denis Villeneuve is just a masterful filmmaker.

A modern masterpiece. Denis Villeneuve knocked it out the park with this sequel. Another director would have made a pop corn 🍿 SCFI action film. This really honoured the orginal and just as good!

Excellent movie, but it's definitely not for everyone. Seeing this gave me full confidence in Villeneuve's ability to direct Dune. I suspect it's having a little resurgence due to all the recent AI developments in the news. Dystopian sci-fi stories are supposed to be warnings, not blueprints.
