Yes, thank you for including Spider-Woman. I'd personally put it much higher at like 9 or 8, but I think 27 is respectable on a top 100. This book is so damn good. Roger is my favorite new character in all of comics and maybe of all time.
BenFalkenstein I'm a big fan of that series also
I love the wicked and the divine, I'm happy you mentioned it, the it's probably is my favourite comic I'm reading right now 😀
Powerman and Iron Fist is incredible, there are alot of characters but most of them are really fun e.g Senor Magico. The sweet Christmas Annual is probably in my Top 5 issues for this year.
Yay great list man
On that Green Arrow cover, who's the skeletal Pizza Steve on the right?
I honestly don't understand why people praise the hell out of King's Batman run. It's different, I'll give it that, but something about it just pushes me away.
On the other hand, I've been debating whether or not I should start Monstress.
No8Named8Shadow I've had similar discussions about Extraordinary X-Men, everyone seems to love it and I dropped it. I personally love Batman, but to each their own. Although I almost dropped it myself during Monster Men, I hated that event. The best characters, writers and artists don't mean much if it ain't doing it for ya. Plenty to read.
Tom King's Batman is so awful
Monstress is a beast of a book! The art is ridiculous. Steam Punk style!! Excellent. 1st trade is 9.99. Must READ
Agreed. Monstress is beast. Really beautiful art and really interesting story.
Someone really needs to make a NetFlix series out of Animosity.

Completely agree with Saga - I've loved this series but with every new issue I kinda drop off it a little more. Hopefully reading it in larger chunks will make it read better, but monthly it's becoming a chore.
Select your heros
I am not, and also very, surprised to see Batman on your list. However, your description of Batman in the title is off I think. This is not a detective story, at all. It is an action story, through and through, Tom King even described it as his "summer blockbuster title". The I am Suicide arc fell flat in the end, but the last three issues have been very promising. I think the promising thing with Batman is that lately, Tom King has started to move away from the action packed explosions and focus more on characters, which a) is what he does so great and b) is what people wanted to see him do on Batman.
Similarly, The Flash has been a title that has had high highs, but pretty low lows. Godspeed arc started well but fizzled out, Shade was a pretty weird filler arc. The Rogues arc have started off really well, and all in all it is a very solid title, but I would not have it above many other Rebirth titles that I think are omitted from.
I am gonna jump the gun and assume that you dont have any of Nightwing, Aquaman, Deathstroke or Superwoman on this list, which is sad. I think all four of those titles should be ranked before RHatO, Batman, New Super-Man and The Flash. I know you said you dropped those titles early in your Rebirth series, but I would advice you to check them all out. Nightwing is imo the best Batfamily title out now, which is saying a lot considering how strong Detective Comics and RHatO have been. Your criticism early on the title was largely due to loose threads from the N52, and now Dick is back in Bludhaven where he belongs.
Looking ahead to 2017, please do yourself a favour and pick up "The Rise and Fall of Captain Atom". It has only been 2 out of 6 issues that have come out yet, but it completely blew my mind with how good it is.
Great list even thought I think saga should be much higher.
Where the HELL is Renew Your Vows Vol 2!!!!!!!
Except for your overhype of Sam Wilson, great list man. That book is getting old by the ham-handed social critiques; 3d grade level stuff.
Sam Wilson isn't the comic we need but it sucks. He uses false facts and statistics to move story forward and it is filled with crappy writing.
Yaaass I agree so much Scott Snyder's Batman SUCKED compared to Tom King's. It just didn't have any heart.
Batman shouldn't be anywhere near this high
Kyle Rayner agreed.... i would've put it in the first video (100-51)
Question, Why do you hate the character of Batman so much? I'm a lifelong Batman fan, and King's batman is a disgrace to the character. His themes just rip off Scott Snyder, and King writes really bad characters with deus ex machina endings and plot holes. You laso love detective which writes Batman generically. Scott SNyder's all star is actually exploring the character of Batman( and actually writing him well) and giving some great inspirational themes and discussion, with a story that ends in such a great uplifting way. Scott Snyder is one of the 10 best Batman writers ever.
because you aren't allowed to say anything bad about King's writing for some stupid reason. His run has sucked so much, ans batman haters use it and praise it to try and justify hating scott sndyers run
Scott Lerer hi checking in as a Batman "hater." Scott Synders run has one good story and the rest suffer from him trying desperately to make Batman "epic." Batman comes across as 2d paranoid jerk who just spends all his time creating gadgets to get him out of every situation. There's nothing remotely empathic or interesting about him as a person. and the story passively condones this version of the character so basically he's Grant Morrison's Batman without any subtley.
I find Kings Batman pulpy and stylish. like a Holmsian adventure with an action bent. His dialogue controversial as it maybe is undeniably lyrical. I find it a very refreshing to see a Batman story that isn't just "Oh yes Batman he's so cool look at him be so fucking cool cause he's batman. ohhh Batman ohhh"
Joseph Sheehan Batman wants control. I talk about this in my review of all star Batman. Read Batman throughout the years. He is a character who is driven by his lack of control stopping the murder of his parents, and wants control to stop all crime in Gotham. This is simple Batman 101, and part of his key character. If you Batman isn't looking for control and is paranoid of criminals committing crimes, he is being written incorrectly. Read Snyder, Morrison, Oneil, literally any great Batman writer and this is how the character is, and it is one of his flaws that makes him a flawed human interesting character. His need for control and his distrust for the batfamily are directly adressed, examined, and explored in Snyder's run. Scott Snyder's Batman is Batman. Scott Snyder is one of the best Batman writers. Out of curiosity, what are your favorite Batman writers?
Joseph Sheehan King's batman is exactly what you described at the end. The run is full of lazy deus ex machina writing and makes Batman a two dimensional character. The whole run is "batman is awesome. Batman is awesome.'" Remember Batman 13 and that end of the awful story I am Suicide, when after Batman's plan with Michael bay sized plot holes, Catwoman goes "it's not impossible. It's Batman.' Tom King's batman is one of the worst runs on the characters ever.
Joseph Sheehan " I find Kings Batman pulpy and stylish. like a Holmsian adventure with an action bent." You just described Scott Snyder Batman without the in-depth character and theme exploration that Snyder gives Batman and his supporting cast.
Have to disagree with Sam Wilson: Captain America being on the list. In my humble opinion it's terribleness helps outline why Marvel has been failing in the market so much.
