Disintegration is a masterpiece album, one of my all-time favorites. I played it non-stop for almost 10 years. I still pull it out every few months for a few spins. Not one bad song on it, all songs very deep and atmospheric. Play it loud! There are layers upon layers upon layers you can lose yourself in.
I also like the raw, sad sound of "Pornography", but yeah, if you ask, Disintegration is probaply their masterpiece. But also, their isn't a bad album in their discography and that's awesome as well, for being around for over 40 years now.
The entire sound of The Cure just speaks straight to my soul, I just love his voice and the different sound of the instruments...just the whole uniqueness of them. Funny isn't how so many groups even though playing the same guitar etc can have such a different sound.
Amen It's one of very few albums framed and hung on my wall It's one of my favorite albums of all time Plainsong/ Pictures of You are in my top ten of any 2 back to back songs EVER WOW
This is in my top 5 songs of all-time list! Just an insane song and I can play on repeat with the windows down in my car and just lose time! Great choice of song to Review. Check out the whole album Disintegration what a wild ride.
The secret weapon in the band's arsenal is the Fender Bass VI which was a baritone guitar tuned down a full octave. Robert Smith can be seen using his Fender during the intro of the song. Yes, that's right, they pioneered down tuning and baritone guitars thirty years prior to metal discovering those instruments.
Oh, how I loved The Cure back in a day... Robert Smith is a genius! There is something in the band's music that 'paints' an atmosphere. A bit like Pink Lloyd, but in goth. If you know what I mean.
Hi Team awesome reaction. This is my theme song for a girl called Nadine who was my girlfriend backed in 1989 and I did my OE through the UK with her. Depeche Mode and the Cure were her bands. I wasn't really into goth bands until we broke up and I heard this song for the first time. After all these years it sums up all my feelings, a women I loved very much and I let slip away. I still wonder where she is in in her life. Miss you Dino. xx 😞
Always has been my favorite Cure song since it came out Plainsong/ Pictures of you- One of my alltime favorite combos of two songs that are sequential on an album AMAZING
I really like these songs by the Cure, but these songs are very sad, because they take us back to a time when we lost the one who we fell in love with, so deeply.
79 to 87 was the best period of the cure. They would do a couple doom, and gloom albums, and then put out a pop album in between. This was the period they started becoming a radio band.
from my favorite cure album disintergration next to three imaginary boys seventeen seconds faith pornography head at the door from 1979 - 1989 i even have faith and seventeen seconds on vinyl
a diferencia de las otras bandas, the cure le canta a nuestras almas. hay tantos sentimientos que es imposible no creer que es la mejor banda del mundo
The Cure - Close to me, official video. Thank you for all the reactions. I'm a huge Mylène Farmer and Metallica fan, it's been enchanting following your journeys. But I don't think you've ever reacted to Lara Fabian, a masterclass voice. I suggest Adagio, Live From Lara with Love, it's the original song, and it's in English. Or you could try her most impressively emotional performance, from the same show: Je suis malade. It's in French, but there is a video with subtitles. Enjoy. ❤ Last Portishead - Wandering Stars or Roads... this is trip hop, it's different, a magnificent album (Dummy) Thanks
Lol@ doing a great job, yeah man, they sellout stadiums. Pretty sure he's been doing a GREAT job 😅 for a long time.Saw them last night at The Hollywood Bowl, been listening to them over 30 years and This has got to be the strangest reaction to such a beautiful and masterpiece of a song by anyone. Work on it, cheers. 😂🍺
This song has a sinister subtext: the lyrical self is a perverse egoist. Your sadness is the fact that your ex-girlfriend has come out of depression and consequently out of a toxic relationship.
ive played in bands since I was 17.... the number of people who could actually sing as well as smith is zero. the problem for any band is having a singer who can do it and can do it whilst being easy to get on with and who has a modest personality Freddie mercury comes to mind ... getting off my soap box now
1 of the most Beautiful songs ever written

If these lyrics have a connection to your life, you will float away painlessly on this masterpiece.

❤¿The Cure?❤
This is definitely NOT the song they are best known for but it's the best song of theirs in my opinion.
Whenever I’ve asked a non-Cure fan what, if anything, they know about them, they invariably say “that song about the photo.”
This and Burn IMO.
The band ,Berlin has a song by the same name, you should check it out.
what a beautiful woman
Disintegration best album do a little Fascination Street
A beautiful anti-crusceindo.............
Disintegration and Pornography for me the best albums of The Cure
What the heck is this guy in the yellow shirt listening to? His head bobbing isn't even close to being in sync with anything with a 4/4 measure.
