Hi Nancy! I just came back from my cruise and I wanted to let you know that your videos helped us A LOT in Roatan. Without your knowledge we wouldnt be able to experience the perfect day we had. We went on our own to the west bay beach and did snorkeling by ourselves. Everything went great. Thank you so much for the valuable tips you gave us on this video!!
Thanks! I see that you watched my snoreklling video as well. I am going to post a video, 20 travel tips for Roatan. Any questions that you have let me know!
Nice and informative video. I was in Roatán a couple days ago, I stayed in Henry Morgan Resort for 3 days, and it was a great experience. As you said, there are guards in every resort even I did walks at night and it was very safe. If you go to Roatán you should do snorkeling, but do your research about the time they will offer you, I did and the tour was so long that the snorkeling lasted only 15 min 😢, I spoke with another person about his services and they offer an hour of snorkeling. Overall, this is a paradise you should visit.
If a person isn't really a serious island type, how would San Pedro de Sula be? Looking for quiet retirement time without necessarily island excitement.....
I wanted to overnight, but my ship was leaving. I enjoyed hanging with the locals. They told me they don't have internet and nobody really has phones. It's incredible. It is quite poor and dirty on most of the island. I hope to return there in a few years.
It’s true, there are some parts of the island that are not well kept up and has pockets of poverty. However it depends on where you go. The locals I met all had phones because they worked in tourist areas. It's unfortunate you didn't have time to see West End nor West Bay, or some other areas of the island.
Lots of Canadians and Americans buy home or condos there. Roatan is safe compared to mainland. .serious medical issues, people are flown to a hospital on the mainland.
@@nancyssolotripsandtips Nancy, hie would you evaluate the comfort level for the older folks demographic in Roatan and Honduras compared to other popular locations such as Belize, Barbados, etc.??
@@dovygoodguy1296 There are too many variables to consider to answer those type of broad questions. Websites such as International Living give useful information and what types of issues you need to consider. Nice to hear from you!.
@@nancyssolotripsandtips Thanks. We're trying to adjust to the weather in Calgary. We had ten very comfortable days followed by colder weather and snow. We're waiting for significant improvement on the weekend. All I could think about was Barbados!!
Go to their website and ask to be sure. . I think if you eat there, then chari etc. is free. Or if there has been an arrangement made with the place you are staying.
Beautiful video and thank you for showing this to the world, however, please keep Roatan organic by standing up against big corporations hotels who are trying to invade this beautiful place and making it their own. Say no to the greedy ZEDE
Your style of speaking is so relaxing. Not hurried and neurotic like many RUclipsrs!!
Wow, thank you!
It's a Beautiful beach
Beautiful place
It really is!
This is such a great representation of West Bay Beach! My family friends used to own Casa Tortuga in the background at the 6:56 mark!
Wow, I'll at the video again to see Casa Tortuga.

do you know if we have to book scuba diving or snorkeling ahead of the time or we can just walk in for that? Thanks.
It looks like you are asking about Roatan. My video shows where you can gos snorkelling right from the beach.
Hi Nancy. Do you have any videos about the safety and infrastructure of Honduras compared to other countries from an expat -snowbird perspective?

Yes, I agree. It is a problem with many beautiful places.
What if it’s 2 people will they still charge 15 per person
You can always try to negotiate, especially when they aren't busy. The normal rate is $5/person when they have more people. thanks for watching!
