I have stayed in Mango bay 4 times between 2004 and 2011, nice but very pricey. After Covid the price went up again. I now stay in the palm beach condominiums next door which is a self-catering complex. When I’m in Barbados, have my own pool and the sea is at the end of a very lovely garden. The wildlife in the garden alone is worth staying their for on its own. I was fortunate to be their Nov 23 and just returned from 10 days in last week of May. Massey the supermarket across the road, has a very good deli counter which I would defo recommend, and chill with a beer or 2 at the TML bar . Chat to the locals who are very nice people. Absolutely love Barbados and can’t wait to go back very soon.🇧🇧

Oh my goodness, in 5 more days I'll be there with my husband for our first vacation in 5 years. We had to cancel our 2020 Barbados trip because of Covid and this is the first chance we've had to return We're staying at Waterside, and I can barely contain my excitement. Great video, I have shopped at massy's, both in Barbados and Trinidad outlets. But I have to say that my best supermarket memories was my first visit to Winnipeg Manitoba, 1977. Nothing compares to Canadian and American supermarkets for quality and variety of produce. I would even include supermarkets in Treviso Italy.

Wow this is a really awesome and helpful video! Would you say it’s better to do this first or see the sloths first if we are on a one day excursion? I read somewhere that the stingrays are out more in the morning. Also I think the sloth park is the other direction from port.

Nancy, I can't begin to imagine how they constructed so massively on such hills. I can't imagine how people could climb so many stairs up to the church or descend those steps without railings. Finally I cannot imagine how or why anyone at any age would rent an apartment requiring you to climb 80 stone steps and carrying anything. No matter how beautiful the scenery. It just goes beyond my brain!!

Are there alot of mosquitoes in Barbados? Doesn't the air conditioner above the bed blow on you? Do you pay cash on the bus? $5 Bajan for any local ride between Holetown and Bridgetown?

Hi again, Nancy. From your experience, how does one have a quiet visit in Barbados or other islands in the winter when there are all the large cruise ship crowds?? And are other islands besides Barbados either so crowded or hilly that it makes a visit uncomfortable for the older demographic??

Nice and informative video. I was in Roatán a couple days ago, I stayed in Henry Morgan Resort for 3 days, and it was a great experience. As you said, there are guards in every resort even I did walks at night and it was very safe. If you go to Roatán you should do snorkeling, but do your research about the time they will offer you, I did and the tour was so long that the snorkeling lasted only 15 min 😢, I spoke with another person about his services and they offer an hour of snorkeling. Overall, this is a paradise you should visit.

I also agree with @dovygoodguy1296 about your commentary. It was pleasant and enjoyed listening. We are visiting Roatan for the first time in a couple of months and staying at the Kimpton Grand Roatan resort. Hoping we like it as much as we are expecting. Location of it looks fantastic.

Hi Nancy. Do you have any videos about the safety and infrastructure of Honduras compared to other countries from an expat -snowbird perspective?

They usually don't play traditional American Christmas Carols in the D.R. 🇩🇴 . There is Christmas music but it sounds like Latin music. Probably not distinguishable to a North American.
