I knew a kid that drove his 'cuda with slicks on the street. Big ones. Once he got pull over after doing something wrong but a relative who was a police chief helped get the tickets reduced to two. This was before there were good drag radials.
Look at Ford, Mercury, Olds and Pontiac. They are still somewhat affordable. And some late 70's cars and early 80's cars. Also full size 60's cars, many of which were fast backs in the sportier versions.

I wish i could get my Mopar to rev as crisp as that ...probably light weigh reciprocating assembly, crank trigger ignition, no vacuum leaks on intake side, and a very fine tunable fuel metering system, computer tunable fuel injection maybe...one of the 68 Chargers ive seen...Bravo
The problem with blowers on the street, 671 style, is that they create a dangerous blind spot to your right side as your driving. So much so that you can't see people or cars or motorcycles pulling out in front of you. It's a terrible idea. I know because I've had one on a 1970 Firebird Formula 400 with a 455 and a Weiand blower sticking way up through the fiberglass hood. Yes the car was something to behold, no doubt, it was awesome, and I was young and dumb and drove it all over the city showing off. But in reality it was dumb. You want you blower out of your line of sight, not obstructing your view. You want full command of the entire road, that's what you want. So this is not a practical setup for real street usage.
