I only have one pelican story so I thought I would share it with you. I used to work for a guy who had a place in Key West. I got the chance to spend some time there and on one of our fishing trips I caught a pelican. I threw a cast off the back of the boat and before the bait hit the water a pelican swooped down and took it. The pelican got hooked pretty good and it was game on. He finally got tired and I was able to reel him in and free him from the hook. I don't do that much fishing, but I can honestly say my best "fishing story" doesn't involve a fish. I've enjoyed your videos, especially the ones from southern Florida. Brings back some great memories.
Not a bad run other than the wind. Always love meeting up with old Air Force buddies. My wife has always been amazed how we just pick up from where we left off.
When my old Marine buddies show up...I run the other way! Looks like the Carver handled those winds nicely. Great job to the crew. And Im kidding about my Marine buddies, I love them all! (in moderation)
Oh, I have Marine buddies as well. They are all special. There has always been a respectful joking rivalry among the service branches - and we all know we couldn't be successful without working together. Can't wait to hear the joking that will go on when the Space Force arrives on the scene! Cheers, Sam
Great video! Great getting together with old Bomber Shipmates, We had a Fighting Marlins (P-3c) reunion last summer most of us from the 70's...6 more years and Kathy & I will be joining you out there!
Thanks Steve! I got about 45 minutes of yoke time in the Rhino. Was onboard as a specialist and they found out I had heavy time and invited me into the left seat. We hope to see you and Kathy out there someday! Sam
Another fun ride you all. Sure hope you all can get back out there soon. Do you think it will be tough to get back in the groove after being gone this long? Hope you are staying well during these times. We are heading on lake today for some boat fun of our own. Wish you well.
Hi Byron, We are expecting to be a bit rusty, but intend to run through checklists and take it slow. When we move next it will be trip #100 for us. Have fun out there on the water. Sam & Rev
Thanks for the video. New subscriber. I want to do the Great Loop one day, after I retire. You provide a great opportunity for me to learn what to expect one day.
Hi Charles. Always a great time. Those were the best days of our lives and if we could, we would relive them in a minute. Even the bad parts because the good times overshadowed them. Have a great week! Sam
@@WhatYachtToDo Thanks. What are the best websites for boats for sale? We have been looking on Yachtworld. Like you say, everyone has their own ideas. We have owned many boats, yachts and launches, new and used and sailed many parts of the world and across oceans so we are experienced but never complacent. For this adventure we thought an express cruiser as its all one level, sort of.

Wow, what a great story - bird on a wire (fishing line) - those pelicans are amazing! Sam
@@WhatYachtToDo They put up a pretty good fight that's for sure. I'm just glad we could free it and it appeared to be OK.
Nice quiet day on the water. It's great when you have the ICW to yourselves.
So true!

Truly amazing, isn't it! Thanks for watching!
I could use an RV for my drive soon from NM to Florida! I like those RAM vans... Anyway, cute show.
Thanks Yvonne! So nice to have you onboard with us on our journey!

When my old Army buddies show up, it's a long night of fine cigars and expensive scotch.

Hi guys !!! the wind shield maid me think how much the salt water must play havoc with your boat, would that be true?
Oh yes. Fresh water washdown after every run!
Hi. We are planning to do the loop. Is the height restrictions 15'? Were you ever bothered by snakes?
That's awesome. 19.5 feet south of Chicago. Did not see a single snake in 4500 miles. Sam

He dumps the old bait out of the trap
Thanks! That makes sense. Sam
