- One of the new item available in Super Mario Maker 2 is the icicle, this frozen spiky drop of water! It's very simple to use and seems like it only has 1 or 2 uses, but if you use your big big brain, you can actually find very creative ways of using it! Let's check out some of my ideas!

We need big icicles that fall and stay in the ground
Also, they could make Pre-Falling Icicles that make for ominous kinds of levels themed like icy ruins.
I think the easiest way for nintendo to do that is let you give them mushrooms. They become bigger and stay where they land, just like in NSMBU. For now though, you can make them drop bullet bill blasters with coins in them to function similarly.
i'd say, if that was a thing, you add a mushroom onto an icicle :3

you could make a 2 player puzzle level with a icicle wall in the middle (player 1 in one side player 2 on the other side) and then they need to throw the enemies trough the wall and solve a puzzle

could you make one for seesaws? I was hoping to utilize them in my levels at one point but I have no ideas
1 idea from me is use it for boss arenas, leave a 1, 2, or 3 gap (depending on how big the boss is so they don't fall down) between the seesaw and the walls.

THANK YOU! This really helps me out with making contraptions that the player is supposed to throw a shell into w/o being able to go in them-self.

I hope you can see this Nico! (Not as a promotion or anything) but Ceave Gaming showed off the ability to put bullet bill blasters layered on icicle and if you put a block under that and then walk under it, the icicle basically breaks the block and then the blaster falls (due to gravity) and it creates a cool blaster wall!
Seeing all these SMM2 videos makes me want to try this game!😀

I had the idea of have a room with blocks as floor. A skewer slowly destroys the floor and you will fall through a spiky room where you must fall in the middle. (You will have a shelmet by the way.) When you make it, you will enter a large room with Bowser, sort of like Calamity Ganon’s cutscene. I’m making a Super Mario Maker World game/level sequence, so this would make for a great cutscene. It’s not icicles, but I just thought of it. There could be bullet bills that shoot Goombuds that you have to throw at Bowser.

Here's my idea! You are all free to use it and I'd be happy to see your creations.
Icicles are donut blocks on steroids. They fall when you stand on them after a while just like donut blocks, But because of their slippery ice physics, it makes platforming much more intense, you could even have mario trigger on off switches from above!

That icicle elevator one is creative, but to make it trolly, I would put a circle of boos in the block, and the key inside the red koopa.

Everytime he says boss, it sounds like bus. Now all I can picture is Mario trapped in a room fighting a giant bus.
Another great thing about Icicles is that they can be used in place of Bumpers to make areas inaccessible, something you often see in puzzle levels. This can be great because Bumpers count toward the standard enemy limit, but Icicles don’t; they exist in their own group, and you can place up to 300 of them per area.
I can predict that the next video will be related with the claws
I actually made a 'trap' level which consists of 98% Icicles when i got the game.
One level which is basically a Boom Boom Arena where you have to kill atleast 1 of 5 Boom Booms to leave the arena and finish the level.
One level which consists of only Icicles where with a huge gap to the actual Icicles and a huge gap to the flag.
And a ton more.
Did you know the icicles in the Super Mario Bros. 3 style have faces on them?

You forgot the coolest use for them. If you place a brick block with a bullet blaster on top of it, you can place the icicle behind the bullet blaster so you can’t see it. And when you walk under the bullet blaster, the bullet blaster will fall down. You can use this for things like collapsing ceilings or pathways that closes when Mario walks through them.
