If you can afford the extra for the Huracan, it’s definitely a safer place to put your money as they hold their prices so well compared to R8s!
I bought my huracan last year. I thought about the v10 plus but the presence and rawness (not a word I know but I made it up) led me to purchase the huracan. Every day I get in to go for a drive I feel cool and like I’m driving something special. The R8 was cool and luxurious but I was looking for a SUPERCAR and the Audi just didn’t give me what I was looking for. I really feel like purchasing my Lamborghini was the best choice I’ve ever made. And getting to say “my Lamborghini” is way cooler than saying “my Audi”
Exactly this , end of the day in 3 years , 4 years or whatever , as long as they depreciate at a steady rate you’ll get most money back so it’s all relevant in comparison

It's pretty simple, the R8 is cheaper and the huracan is seen as more 'exotic'. I would pick the R8 anyday
Kenneth Dike I used to like the huracan because I like a daily driveable super car but realized the r8 is way my daily then the huracan and instantly fall in love with the r8
@@youcanadianeh7523 yeah I've been a fan of the R8 ever since the V8 gen 1 R8. The fact that u can get a V10 plus for less than 100k which basically has the same engine as a huracan and is more practical and I'd reckon that R8 easier to live with. U can tell I'm a bit of an R8 fan 😂

I've owned 2 Lambo's in the past and I recently picked up a 2012 Audi R8 V10 . Wrapped it black, threw on a set of Vossen rims and added a FIExhaust system added air suspension, and in my own opinion, the Audi R8 drives smoother, handles better, and for the price, you can't beat it.

Audi R8 V10 Plus, low key supercar that ticks all the correct boxes...performance, reliability, price and tons of modifications can be done to increase power and looks.

I think id take a R8. Three main reasons one its cheaper and two i prefer the simplistic look of the interior, with the one screen virtual cockpit which is breathtakingly impressive and i wouldnt want a car that gets toooo much attention, so the lambo wouldnt be for me. Then again a lambo is a lambo and will always be better than an audi ofc

I am on my 2nd R8, currently a 2017 V10 Plus and test drove the Huracan before buying my current R8. Both cars offer something a little different, but ultimately the R8 is a better value AND driver. The warranty alone, 4 year vs 3 years was a pretty big consideration (and to me a reflection of confidence the manufacturer has in their own product). The R8 also just drives more confident on the road. As a a spirited driver at Road Atlanta or tearing up north GA Mountains -- R8 V10 PLUS all day.
I love this channel. Paul gives genuine honest opinions of cars some people dream of, keep up the good work Paul!
The 50k is largely irrelevant if it’s still worth 50k more at the end. If it’s worth 35k more at the end then it’s still in-line really
V10 RWS because i love the R8 and the rear wheel drive aspect just makes it, to me at least, the ultimate driver's car.

I used to prefer an R8. But I’ve seen both in real life and I just feel like there’s so much more character to Lamborghinis. Also yeah Paul is right, I’d buy the superleggera and use the extra money I saved from the new R8 to mod a new exhaust and rims and body kit

I was about to buy the R8 V10+, but ended up buying a McLaren 570S instead mainly due to the residuals being a lot lower on the R8 making the payments much lower on the Mac!
I had a loan R8 for the day, and I am really pleased I went for the Mac as the R8 is too “everyday” and I was looking for more “rawness” which the Mac delivers

Good video, what about the relative depreciation between the two (although as you say most finance them) and spec/option prices too? Some crazy person spec’d my car to £120k from £70k list, must have lost loads on trade in, but equivalent Bentley would have been nigh on £200-230k for same spec... so maybe they still saved cash? For a supercar, my money would go on an R8 if I was being sensible, Aston if I wasn’t....
the lambo has got more presence on the road and u get a proper supercar feel with it
i would rather buy an RS6 for everyday use with a fine tune it may drives faster than an r8
I actually really liked this video. I thought it would be ridiculous but it was very fair.
I would buy the R8 for many reasons but mainly because. I've never been a Lambo fan, and I don't think badge and the looks really makes that much difference. The current gen R8 is a bloody good looking car and anything you can do to a Huracan Modification wise you can do to an R8 too. So I don't think the extra £50K gets you enough of an experience and a better car to warrant it. I think like you and Archie said, you've gotta really want a Lambo to pay the money. Just my 2 cents though.
You can see while they're talking in the Huracan how much more juddery it is inside than in the R8.
I have had both and currently own the Huracan. My choice is the Huracan all day long looks sound and status wise. People who say they just think it's dumb to get the huracan over the R8 might be basing their choice based off of money. Unless you want to be low key. If you take money out of it because if you can afford one you can afford both it makes no sense to buy the R8. now if your stretching it or want something low key then get the R8. Both great cars and can't really complain if you have either one.
Just bought Plus yesterday. Same colour and strangely the same headlining..........mmmm need to see if I can get it changed.

I'd get the r8 because i'll drive it more often. But the aura of a lamborghini is unrivaled

R8 V10 plus is awesome supercar to daily, but the huracan feels more of a supercar. So I choose the huracan. Or better yet, the huracan performante.
Paul, you stand head and shoulders above the rest because you offer unique content from your own perspective. Don't fall in to this trap of creating poor comparison videos with the 'likely lads'; they do enough of that low level vlogging already. Yourself, Tim and James offer quality content, don't get bogged down what Archie, TGE etc do!
The Audi is way better because the huracan cost a lot more to maintain and isn’t for daily driving

I'd go for Huracan if I have the chance to choose between the two of them, cause no matter how much the gap of the prices bracket between the two of them, an R8 v10 isn't as fun as the huracan, so if you have enough money to buy a Huracan then why have to buy an R8? An R8 is just a solution for them who wants to buy a Huracan but still can't afford it..

I can't really understand the hate towards Archie, however, the quality of this "comparison" really leaves a lot to be desired... You've covered a lot of important differences and similarities, but nowadays there's other RUclipsrs that make so much more out of such a potentionally good video. The 50K extra is just for a Lamborghini badge and look at me, personally I would prefer an Aston Martin over both cars

I would probably steer toward the Audi R8--V10 Plus on price alone, because you get so much for track and street, but it doesn't beat you up like the Hurricane !

4. (Actual serious reason) Because the Lamborghini means a lot more to me. The first supercar I saw was a Gallardo. I visited the Lamborghini museum and factoy and I saw how the engines are built. I never considered the Huracan was an R8 under. I considered the R8 was a Huracan under because of the hart it has.

Both amazing machines, but I would definitely go with the Audi R8. Reason why is because you get everything in one car, it's that simple. Like he said, more value for the money. Fast performance, comfort and stunning looks. Don't get me wrong, Lamborghini is amazing and in my opinion it just looks more exotic.

Audi R8 V10 all the way for the said reasons you shared. I would also add the opportunity to more routinely use and enjoy the vehicle without losing any of the personal gratifications of owning a super car.
Personally prefer the lambo and would have one if i could! Think its more down to its amazing to even see one on the road and the r8 is becoming a daily see when im out and about

For people not into cars, the R8 is not much different than a TT or an S5 looks wise. The Huracan looks a lot more exotic. I think one of the reasons the Honda NSX has done so poorly is the same design language issue, where you could convince my mother it's a 2 door Accord.

Sticker price on the Huracan is obviously more but cost of ownership in terms of depreciation is probably quite similar (~£20k over 2 year).
The million dollar question(s) is/are: Which one is more fun at the limit? which one understeers more? Drift capability?
