What size were the rings and what was the material made of?
What if your a bigger women and might need more fabric . How do you measure for that ?

I know this is an old post... but have you made any bed/reading nook canopys? or made floor pillows? just cause you sadi at the end you like suggestions!

I really like your DIYs Lindsay! I'll definitely have to try this out! I have two ring slings that I love, although I've never thought to make them myself! What type of fabric did you use?
Awh thank you so much! Yeah they are so easy to make!! I believe this fabric was some sort of cotton blend- about the same thickness as linen. Everything I researched said it's better to make them with some sort of woven fabric (cotton, linen,etc) instead of like a knit fabric!
What is the width? Depending on the fabric you buy the width varies...
Most commercial slings are between 25 and 30 inches wide. With the majority right around 27" wide
Does it matter for fabric choice
For a 20 to 30 pound baby what would be the fabric amount needed and specs?
My baby in this video was probably close to 20 pounds- the specs in the video should work fine!

Yes it is! This is the normal size, but if you like a longer tail, you can increase the fabric length!

Any woven fabric works best! (so like linen, cotton, etc)- so just not like a stretchy knit!
Rayon fabric is good to use it stretches
You need to use appropriate weaved materials. Quilting cotton is a NO go. Anything stretchy for a ring sling is a NO go as well.
Osnaberg is a good choice and many fabric stores carry it. It's neutral colored. Bottom weight materials as well are suitable

What size rings did you use?
For this one I used Large rose gold rings!
I might not have a human baby, but I have a chihuahua with an identity crisis. She thinks she’s a princess and should be carried everywhere. It’s only annoying when I take her shopping and she refuses to walk on the floor with all the big vewy scary stuffs around her.
Did I mention she thinks she’s a princess?
