I'm pretty happy with the mechanism, but there's obviously room for improvement. The nice thing about this design is, that you can use multiple mechanisms and some kind of "stepper" mechanism, to create a multi-digit counter.

maybe see if you can make a waterpump that will be interesting maybe also show why you dont want water inpenumatics so use displacement and stuff

Maybe that's possible, but I think the parts in that mechanism are so small that it wouldn't be more compact when I build it in Lego
