New subscriber from your mullein video. I happen to have my first batch of tukey eggs in the incubator too. Red bourbon+eastern wild parents. We will see what we get!

Thank you for teaching. ❤ I have one hen and 2 males. The males do the dance but I never seen them mate and no eggs laid yet. They are 8 months old.

I have a Tom and a hen. She has laid 10 eggs so far but no incubator. Hoping she will lay on them and going to build a pen/brooder area for her if/when she does so she is secluded from Tom and my chickens. How long do you keep babies in brooder before they can walk around with the hen? I’m in NW Montana so it’s still cool and we do get rain through May/June. Thank you!

I like to brood the turkey poults for 5 to 6 weeks. Once they have their feathers, they can start regulating their own heat. For introducing the poults to the hen, I would normally wait untill the poults are big enough so they don't get hurt if she pecks them as hen turkey can be mean to poults she didn't hatch out but that mostly depends on the hen. Good luck with your breeding season 🤗

@@maritimeacreshomestead thank you so much for your reply! So sounds like once she hatches them to get here out of the brooder and let them grow. Sounds like a good plan 😎
