Your videos have been nothing but helpful ever since I learned the curtains and closed area trick ones thanks to you! I also absolutely love your accent, glad to see you uploading content more frequently!
*Note:* The game considers that new structure as *enclosed* 🏠(fully roofed and walled). It is not very obvious (unfortunately) but at 00:54 the temperature jumps from -00.1°C to 22.0°C when inside. Share this video, so other survivors can also breath fresh generator air while chilling at the base! Enjoyed the video? You will probably also enjoy the future videos, so why not subscribe? 😀
This is probably because the game doesn't recognize your building as a closed space (did you forget the corner pillars?), leading to all kinds of other issues, like not being able to do plumbing.
It is closed space / indoors. I am well aware of that fact and I even did a video on the way pillars can glitch structures. If this wasn't properly enclosed then at 00:54 you would have seen temperatures of -00.1°C inside instead of 22.0°C and the light would have been different. Edit: Also, thanks for the feedback comment... I'll try to make things clearer in my next videos.
oh ye, i figured similar thing out on the muldraugh warehouse, i built flooring next to the actual second floor platform and it seems like it's registered as outside, so i just put the generator one space from my bed
I used a sledgehammer to destroy the walls closest to the generator, both on its floor and the walls on the floor above it. So it should be totally ventilated. why am I still getting poisoned?
1:34 - You talking to me? Are you talking to me!? Pleasing my eyez will be good cause my Eyez are always killing me! >XD Do you know if this trick still works if you just build a player built extension on to an already existing structure?
Awesome - although I think in .67 and .68 it might not work, as they adjusted the way supporting beams are placed in the corners of theplayer built structures, thus completing the enclosed room status. At least I think it is based on that status, as is the interior temperature... happy to be corrected...!
One trick that's dumb af but works? Make your house, but separate your living space (Area with bed, a stove and whatever you place as a luxury) from the "Utilities" room that you SHOULD keep without a roof. From what players gathered, generators check for if it's active in an enclosed space, which is based of whether the space they are at HAS A ROOF on top of it
Hello Zarivan, is this still the case? I lost my character today, because I thought I wouldn't die ;_; Wanna know for my Session with my brother and friend. Thank you very much.
@@Zarivan I only tested having a generator in pre built house and even though i said I get damage I stayed in the house because you said I wouldn't die ;_; I will test later on if the generator is safe in self built houses on multiplayer server. Thank you for your answer :)
New Infos and one testquestion. The generator will not hurt you if you put it in a player built home on multiplayer server. My question for you is if you could check the "range" of the generator. Mine supplied the house nearby as well. Maybe my death was because I already had little damage when I started to inhale the toxic fumes.
yeah... after a while you do get terminal damage if in absolute perfect health, meaning that a scratch can kill you next second or you die if already damaged... I showed it in the video because I've seen a lot of misinformation on the web about the generator killing you indoor, but maybe I should've said that I highly don't recommend doing that (considering that it can bug things out like the sleep)
Pretty sure its not a bug, but more of an oversight. Something that was just not thought about, much like how televisions and microwaves used to be used as impenetrable barriers...until they were changed to be destructible :(

You're welcome! :D
About the upload frequency, I do try uploading whenever I have the time to make the video.
Thanks for watching!

Genius! Now I don't need to smoke cigarette inside my base, I'll get high smoking generator fumes hahaha
Your voice scratched my brain in a way I didn't know was possible, in a good way.
Absolutely love how you do this videos on top of being really helpful, thank you!!
No problem, I'm glad you liked it!

Youuur voooice is hilaaarious. The music touched my tralala.
Yoo, your videos are awesome! I would really dig a playthrough as the drunk caucasian! Keep up the lords work
my eyes are so pleased
i love the constructions u do and the tricks thanks to you i have plenty of ideas to build !!! keep up the good work
You are smashing it, you crazy prince of the night!.👍
I think it's because player built structures are full of holes. Same reason why a player build construction doesn't mitigate agoraphobia.
Helpfull as heck, thanks!
Glad it helped! We'll see now when and if it's going to be fixed xD

but here is registered as indoor
Ay that's my favorite base spot

I place the gen as far away as possible anyway, because i hate the constant noise it produce.
No doubt.
There is a mod to make it quieter.

chat, what if you build 3 walls around it with a door... Is that safe?
are you sure you built a proper roof on your player built structure?
in before it ets fixed in the next patch
Though for real, it's kind of frustrating when I find a bunch of fun little exploit videos, only to find that they've all been patched out. 😭
huh, i always just put it on the roof or in a small shack just outside.
very funny keep on doing

From what players gathered, generators check for if it's active in an enclosed space, which is based of whether the space they are at HAS A ROOF on top of it
so that means I could put a generator in the center of my house in a dedicated room as long as there is no roof?
Mmm did you build a roof on your building?
yes

If the fumes will damage you, it will tell you in red when clicking "Generator Info".
However I didn't test this in multiplayer.

Even better

Maybe s not s bug but it is an exploit since it should make gas inside that player build house too
