The sins committed by Gen Gowon keep him alive to date to witness with heartbreak the bad and nepotistic foundation of wickedness he laid in Nigeria and distrust of calamity he brought to Nigeria as he dishonored the agreement of the Aburi accord. That's unfair. It will continue to be hurting him until his death.

Even till date the problem hasn't been fixed, all of us from the east and south knows that behind that Smile they give us, there is an atom of distrust and fear..every OMOIbo or Nyamiri is an economical threat to a yoruba or Hausa/Fulani man.
Nigerian should have Operated as a Confederation, that was the Aburi Accord solution..we dont have anything in common.

missing lots of information. there were already killings in North before 1966 coup. also western region was already in turmoil. Akintola and Awolowo were fighting. this is the reason the young soldiers intervened. Politicians were messing up the country just like they are doing now. but only the brave igbo soldiers wanted to restore sanity in the country. they killed those they felt were in power, which are mostly northerners.
also before the aburi accord, ojukwu rejected the fact that gowon be made the head of state, instead recommending a yoruba man who was the most senior in the army then, but instead he was pressured not to take over power.

Firstly you made mentioned that your explanations were based on some propounded theories that you excerpted from some best selling articles thus explained why you failed to mention anything from the well articulated analogy of Late Dr. Chinua Anichebe In one of his books on Nigeria / Biafra war "There was a Country" who happened to serve as a chief adviser to the then eastern government under Ojukwu during the war.
Secondary you failed to disclose the contents contained in the Aburi Accord of which you stated clearly that Col. Ojukwu remained loyal to but was violated and frowned upon by the then Nigeria government under gowon and that was the main cause for the declaration of the state of Biafra.
NOTE: Now what exactly is the Aburi Accord all abound in totality? " SECTIONAL GOVERNMENT in other word, RESTRUCTURING NIGERIA" of which gowon and his government agreed to whilst in Ghana only to return to Nigeria and decided to boycott and discarded that agreement and that was what led to the declaration of the State of Biafra. Because Ojukwu saw that Gowon and his Nigeria government were never ready to make peace. So please set your line straight. Afterall Nobody ask you to delve into matters such as this, but since you have decided to, also understand that not everyone is here to salute your nonsense. No offense

Also, i just want to add this to those who are just out to find critics or judge the works of others reason being that they know alot, they should know that the social media space is very accommodative, so you can also put up a content on whatever information you think you know so much about. And even if there are errors or discrepancies there are perfect ways to also communicate them than posing as a threat or something...

Britain was the mastermind of the war and why nigeria fired the first shot, because freedom of biafra means end to sucking nigeria dry because nigeria will be no more and all evil agreement we signed with them at independence will become invalid. britain drew the war strategy, gave and bought the arms from the then soviet union and used propaganda to whitewash Nigeria
Soviet union gave Nigeria soviet pilots and jets that did the bombing,
the blockade of the eastern ocean to restrict import and export for biafra was done by British navy because Nigeria by then didn't even have war ships to issue a blockade
      America funded Nigeria heavily
      Egypt supplied pilots and mercenaries
Saudi Arabia funded the war because of sunni Islam north
Nigeria provided foot soldiers to fight against biafra.
That war was Nigeria fighting for the interest of white man = oil.
It was the first war world powers fought on one side to defeat the biafrans, because they knew if biafra was to win, in all Africa all their artificial countries they have created their tribes will go back to how they were before Colonization and form their own countries example is yorubas would have also left, thereby making them loose their economic influence in Africa so they fought vehemently and killed over 4 million non combatant eastern civilians with the help of dumb Nigerians that hate freedom
France provided food aid to biafrans and isreal helped a little with funds too, but igbos manufactured most of their weapons, petrol and fought these world powers for 3 good years.
If Gowon put selfishness aside and did what ojukwu demanded which is restructure Nigeria as a confederation and rename the country so that all evil deals nigeria had signed with british would be irrelevant because the name is different and a new country, that will eliminate all British interest in Nigeria but rather he chose to give western powers 41% of all oil and gas and resources discovered in Nigeria for free it is the reason why till date all oil companies in nigeria remit only 59% of oil barrels they drill and sale to nigeria, natural gas they remit only 47% and the rest is taken for free all this was to help him defeat biafra, and till date Nigerians are still not free, western powers are still sucking up and propping up the worst of politicians like Gowon to rule us Like Obama gave us buhari by giving buhari his own campaign team and management that helped him become president in America to come to nigeria and lead campaign for buhari in 2015 because Goodluck refused to renew that evil contract gowon signed for them. Nigeria won the battle but lost the war. Biafra will still come and other Nigerians will also finally be free like ojukwu had asked them to do in aburi and he refused because he felt restructuring will reduce his power over other regions to the interest of the british.

Coup is never plotted by a battalion, else it will leak before execution. Major Ademoyega was the last surviving member of the inner circle of the plot (he died in 2003 or so). He has written a book on the coup "Why We Struck". I have read the book. I don't think you have read it yet. His eye witness account does not tally with your comment here. Obasanjo, Philip Effiong, Gbulie have all written about that coup and I have all their books. None of them has made mention of what you have narrated here.
This video is not about ethnicity. It's about history. It's a narration of events of the past. It is also important if you watch to the end to get the full narration rather than pick just a line. Cheers broh

The cue wasn't Igbo cue because both Hausa, Yoruba army officers are involved in the act. It's was because Igbo man was made the head of the state they called it Igbo cue. Hausa people really hated Igbos from their nature that's why they used it as excuse to killed Igbo people. Since after that cue many cue has taken place in Nigeria which also claims the heads of some leaders, why not Nigeria government and Hausa takes the agrration to the masses or to the heads of the cue? Secondly the agreement set by the peace making committee between Ojukwu and Gowon in Ghana was bridge by Gown. Thirdly from the history it was the army officers that where sent to Igbo land fall their duty for not able to kill those they where asked to killed because of their cowardice and they are Yorubas soldiers, while Northern soldiers went to Yoruba and Igbo soldiers went to the North.

And where's that Nigeria today.. poverty. insecurity, corruption? You all have the presidency all these years, no single progress and yet still crying about the Igbo people.. isn't that sheer madness? And talking about Gowon, what's going on in his region today? Are the Fulanis not killing his people and taking over their lands? What about the Yorubas? Are their people, Obas not being killed and school children kidnapped by the Fulanis? They took over Ilorin and are in their forests in Ogun, Ondo, Ekiti, etc, trying to take more lands? Igbo never took anybody's land, or attack other people for any reason. You see your problem is not the Igbos. You are only envious, hateful and jealous. The Igbo fought gallantly, suffered genocide, lost eveything, each man who had millions or less in banks was only given 20 pounds. But today, they have bounced back thrice higher and now the richest tribe in Nigeria...I totally understand the envy and hate, you can't stop these people. Your ancestors already tried and failed.

They discussed restructuring in Aburi but Gowon flaunted it leading to secession and you’re saying told half truth of the Aburi accord and all efforts made to please him are not no avail saying he was the one that really wanted the war so bad. After the first shot was fired by the Nigerian side, Ojukwu did not surrender. He fought the war. He considered it a necessary action to secure his declaration 📜 of Biafra as a sovereign State. If he did not see it as a necessary action, perhaps he would not have deployed men and resources to the battle field.
