I love his music, and he's so passionate about living and caring about disadvantaged and hurting people. I've seen him several times and I always walk out feeling like an old friend was singing to me. If more people really knew how to listen to music, he'd be a revered national treasure. But we've got him!

I live ten minutes from Copperhead Road. They had to change the name a little because people kept stealing the road signs. It’s Copperhead Hollow Road now.

Saw Steve at a Blues Festival in Perth. He was on the stage alone with his mandolin. Stole the show for mine. Magic stuff.
Steve Earle introduced me to the true singer songwriter in the 80s as a kid and I never looked back.

I discovered your music by accident. 1999. A friend in the music business who had endless numbers of cds. One day he gives me a big bag, a duffle bag of cds and says take what you want. Most of the artists were new to me, but something drew me to the cover of El Corazon. Who is this guy?, I asked. My friend, who had deep knowledge, said "Yeah, take that. You'll like him". Understatement of all time. More than 20 years I'm listening, watching, appreciating what you say and the way you say it. You, John Prine, Townes, Guy Clark - Masters of story and music to me. Thanks to you and Rolling Stone for putting this out there. Don't ever quit putting it out there. You're the other kind.

God bless America & Steve Earle. I've been a fan since his first album. His music/songwriting creates a collage of stories in the listener's mind & heart. It has the warm, good feeling of going back home when you listen to his music again. To paraphrase Mark Twain, I never met a Steve Earle song I didn't like.

Copperhead Road is a masterpiece. As a southerner, I've had family and friends like these characters he sings about. Maybe these are things common in the south but it reminds me of these men.
That Woody Guthrie song got to me. I've been listening to Steve Earl from the beginning and have been fortunate to see him play live quite a few times over the years. Fantastic song writer! Woody would be proud of you, Steve.

I once bought a jeep with his cd stuck in the CD player. My girlfriend bought me 3 CD players one each Christmas and I put them in three different vehicles, she's long gone and so is the jeep but the CD player lives on in my boat!

Ernest Reimer That was a great tour and I’m proud to say I was able to meet Steve, Del and all the band members after the show in Dallas. I spent some more time with Del and his sons in Little Rock, AR after a show at Jaunita’s.
Songs are: "John Henry"; "Christmas in Washington"; and "Copperhead Road" at about 8:10. "Christmas In Washington" is a real gem.
"Christmas in Washington" is one of my favorite songs by Steve Earle. And still totally relevant!

I get my groceries in Fairveiw. Never knew you lived around these parts. Your song along with family ties is what made me pick up a guitar and become a Freemason. I Can still remember riding in my daddy’s truck as a very little kid barefoot standing in the seat and you on the radio.

Well Steve I'll never forget the time Saskatoon had a Sundog out door festival and your band didn't want to come this far for this kind of a show so you came as a solo act. You were in tremendous musical shape and I never was so very well pleased as when you did that act. You were by far the best performance of the whole weekend. You blessed us with sharing your God given gift of music and talent and thank you one million times for that Mr Steve Earl.

Saw ya in Halifax Nova Scotia, last year, wanted to so badly shake the hand of one of my favorite all time singer songwriters, it didn't happen because some people were assholes at the beginning of a sit down show. I play your newest album often, and was playing it the other day when I was setting up my little man cave above my wood working shop. Turns out I have three Copperhead Road CDs and two Cassettes. Why I have no idea but needless to say I'll never run out of your music. God bless

If you think Cooperhead Road never gets played on the radio anymore just listen to WDVE in Pittsburgh...its still a radio staple.
Still gets ton of play here in East tn on more stations than not.. Country southern rock and even the easy listening and alternative stations toss it in the mix..
"Copperhead Road" gets a lot of airplay in Canada on a daily rotation on my local radio station. It gets played so much that it should be Canada's new national anthem. LOL!

copperhead road album in 1987 was epic in the UK a few people got it and it just blew me away the whole story was awesome and the song just brilliant saw him in london kentish town with the pogues really was something else among the trash in the charts and on TV we were getting me and my mate would blast i out driving my Granada car
