Nikolai has a smallish role in the Del Torro flick Mama. This had me thinking about it. Extremely underrated ghost story.

Hey, I'm from Denmark 😃 This the first real (sort of good) Danish horror movie. The detective, Wormer (Ulf Pilgaard) is mainly known in Denmark for comedic roles.

Pilgaard did an excellent job in this... sometimes comedians can create more memorable dark characters than anyone else.

I've wanted to see the original _Nattevagten_ for years, hoping that it would eventually be available to stream here in the USA, but until now the only way to see it is by buying a Blu-ray or an overpriced used DVD.

Seen both, prefer the original, ofc. i might have a natural leaning as a Dane, but honestly i just find most US remakes of good films tend to butcher them, but i will admit i do not recall enough about these 2 to actually say that for certain in this case, just been too long..

Agreed! The originals, even when both versions are directed by the same person, tend to be so much better. Funny Games is a great example where the German version is spectacular and the English version is OK...
