Omg. True crime + KallMeKris?! EVERYTHING THE WORLD NEEDS! I love that you're branching out to multiple different types of videos and putting your amazingly hilarious twist on it!!! I am all for it. And even though you bring a comedy twist, you still manage to stay respectful, but witty and dark. My kind of comedy. This was amazing. You're now my favorite true crime RUclipsr.
Kris. We need more true crime videos This is 10/10, as someone who grew up with up a concerning obsession with true crime, I love the way you made this video, videos like this actually got me into studying forensics, I’m becoming a forensic pathologist, I’ve done a absurd amount of research nearly every serial killer, and this is very well researched and you made it entertaining and easy to watch
The "don't take candy from strangers" saying originated much earlier with the 1874 abduction of Charley Ross. He was kidnapped for ransom. His family couldn't afford it and Charley was never returned. His abductors were killed in a seprate incident but one confessed before dying. Unfortunately his partner was the only one who know where Charley was being held and that information died with him. A man was later declared to be Charley Ross but the family didn't believe or except him. This was nearly 60 years after the abduction. All this being said, this awful story definitely just reiterates that you should NOT accept candy from a stranger.
Fellow Criminology graduate here! I absolutely love your video and have mad respect for the level of detail you included -- I read "The Man With The Candy" by Jack Olson a good few years back but haven't seen a youtuber cover this case so extensively. Thank you!
I wasn’t sure how this content was going to be when I initially saw it, but I love this slightly comical viewpoint of a deep dive on a murder case, and I definitely want to see more
The tone Kris is speaking in is comfortable in a weird way, I love true crime but if the tone is just a bit off my anxiety acts up but the way Kris is speaking isn’t making my anxiety act up, that’s something Kris is amazing at, giving pure respect for victims and comforting as many people as possible.
I find its cuz Kris speaks matter of fact like. its not the soft tones the others do, or the super serious ones. this i could listen along to and take in the information, if kris keeps this up, should collab with coffee house crimes on things. he speaks this same way as well.
This story is really disturbing and I got goosebumps at the START It’s really just sickening what dean did to the boys. And it’s really obvious that dean was really messed up.
I was born and raised in Houston and the stories that take place in Houston scare the literal crap out of me. This was before I was born but still. Love these types of videos with the deep dive. Love your content!
Kris’s unique ability to present even the most chilling stories with an engaging, yet respectful tone. Your blend of detailed research and nuanced storytelling had me completely absorbed. Keep up the fantastic work and happy holidays! Just got shocked when the video was removed!
GUYS let's just absolutely appreciate Jay's epic editing skills!! Honestly Kris you just make my day!! love you and make sure you know you're appreciated!!!!
I loved this video, it was really interesting to watch. You’re a great narrator, and you’re able to tell the horrible story well without overdramatizing it
What really makes me angry about this case is the fact that the police stopped searching for victims as soon as Corll surpassed the previous record for known victims. Multiple witnesses came forward with other locations where they had noticed him digging suspiciously including one couple who saw him and his accomplices burying a long parcel on another beach. It makes me angry to think of all of those families who could have gotten closure.
The slipping eye contact from one camera angle to the other is so much fun for some reason. Just extra engaging and feels like the visuals are moving along with the story
@@Lorrdd This is different from object permanence because that really only applies to the objects and people an infant is familiar with. Things that they learn exist around them, whether they see them or not. For clarity's sake, you basically cannot lack object permanence towards people and things that you have no awareness of, simply because you cannot gain it until knowledge of the person or thing is established in the first place.
I am up at 4 o'clock binge watching every serial killer video on her channel because of how good she narrates the victims story and how the killer got caught
Great job! The Muffin Man is a really messed up story. The origin of the nursery rhyme is actually a serial killer that lured kids into dark alleys with muffins on a string. I don’t know if there is enough information available for a video though,
This is the best example that humans are capable of the most horrific things imaginable. It always terrifies me learning about this kind of stuff. We all know infamous serial killers and watched slasher films. But to really hear about what kinds of people commit these crimes and how horrible they are. It’s horrible and just shows that even though we’re human, if a situation is bad enough like the candy man’s. We are able to be actual demons.
It would be cool if she could bring other people interested in true crime for collabs. They could add their own research and knowledge as well as theories (on unsolved cases) on other true crime stories. Amanda from Smosh often talks about true crime on their podcast, she would be such a good guest on a series like this.

Well done, Kris. This man has been haunting my nightmares for years and years, particularly his torture methods. It surprises me how seldom he comes up in various true crime shows. Maybe that's for the best. Absolute monster.
KRIS NEEDS TO MAKE A MURDER PODCAST this is so much better then reading about murders. Especially when you have kris reading it to us and also squeezing a little sarcasm and happiness in it so we don't get uncomfortable 🥰

Absolutely absolutely absolutely horrifying, like the John Wayne Gacy case, can’t even begin to fathom what these boys went through. The fact that some were found with their mouths wide open in the thick plastic sheet afterwards brought me to tears. Great coverage Kris, rest in peace to all of the victims, and I seriously hope this guy is burning in the absolute depths of hell where he experiences the same, somehow even worst pain that he put these innocent boys through.
I hope the pain he is experiencing right now is 29 times worse than all those boys combined. That story makes me so sick. i cannot believe someone would do that!!!!!
Kris and Jay, the best RUclips team to ever exist. Even with a terribly engrossingly psychological tale of this magnitude they continue to make this amazing. We love you Kris!!! Thank you for lighting up our world!! ❤
Absolutely disgustingly tragic. I was however fully consumed by your telling of the story. You did not cheapen it one bit - it felt like a friend sharing it with me. Unsettingly entertaining (in the mutual disgust) and informative. Would love to see you share more stories like this.
I want to say that those boys had suffered terribly and nobody deserves that we should have a moment of silence for all of these young boys, squirrels, and animals that were abused and killed in a brutal way. we are lucky to live in safer times. This is worse than any horror movie. There will always be bad people in the world but things will change for the better. this informational video made me learn and kris clearly put a lot of effort thank you for reading and have a good day
It is so sick what goes through people's minds to possess them to commit such gruesome crimes. My condolences to the victims and their families because nobody should EVER have to go through sick actions such as the ones committed by this horrid man. You covered this case so well in a perspective better then alot of True Crime things I watch. Well made video and I hope to see more!
I think we can all agree that kirs is just so talented! I felt like I was listening to a better true crime podcast. I would love for you to do more stories like this! Also I had no idea this guy existed, he sounds horrible and it’s a good thing he’s gone
This is a particular killer of pertinence to me in my life. One of the people Dean killed was a boy my mother was dating when he was murdered. When I first learned of The Candy Man, I asked my mother if she'd ever heard of him since he was in and around Houston when my mom was a teen/young adult. I kind of brought him up in random conversation and my mother's face went from happy and smiling to kind of pale, very solemn and then she told me the story of her boyfriend disappearing and the later results of finding all the truths out. Also, random side note, Vidor is not pronounced "Vid-or" it's pronounced "Vye-durrr", in typical east Texas fashion.
New Developments in Dean's case is that they found a child's femur at Dean Corll granny's home, a place in whcih he used to lived in when he was 19, so his murders most likely have started much earlier and he is suspected of killing up to 100 by some estimates, how this guy is not more infamous than Gacy or Dahmer is beyond me, he is way sicker than both of them because he seems to have an uncontrollable bloodlust and rage.
Please cover the case on Jessica Judd! She murdered her children gruesomely. Some of my family members know this family personally. Jessica’s family used to live in the forest. Sometimes when they needed wood for fires, they would use horses to haul giant logs through the trees, whilst they were balancing on the logs going at insane speeds. My family member witnessed so many bizarre things while he was visiting this family. Very interesting case, but very sad as well.
I did a project on this guy (forensics), it was sad and weirdly interesting to figure out why he did what he did. I hate that his family saw the signs and did nothing about it, makes me upset. But all respect to the victims family and sorry that you’ve had to experience all that. Kris explained it perfectly though
IS easy to see the signals when you are outside and thinking as a 2023 human being , so besides the year that this happening and the education about those topics were almost none...
@@ulazerg7163 yeah I totally agree, different time periods but I feel like if John Wayne Gacy was around (caught for killing males that also randomly disappeared) in that time before Dean, someone should have said something or noticed but like you said signs like that was unnoticeable and difficult to see and plus different locations/ states. I think what I was mostly talking about (when I said that the family saw the signs) how the employees at the moms candy factory had told her that something weird was going on with Dean and I think one employee actually said that Dean tried to make advances on him, the employee told the mom and she just didn’t want to believe it and fired the boy. I think before he went into the military, pretty sure that’s right😅. I definitely see what you mean though and I’m glad you wrote it, it’s making the gears in my head turn. Now I want to read up more about these murders/murderers and see it in different perspectives (as a person back then compared to a 2023 person that notices those type of signs) because before I wasn’t really doing that
@@Its.Just_Yonna and maybe if someone really notice something, believe he was gay not a murder, but let say if he was reaaallllyyy friendly with Kids, probable people will say he loved Kids etc and these kind of Charisma is really common with serial killers and psycopaths so people actually gonna think good about them

I've heard of the Candy Man, but I'm from Houston. Also I'm glad to see you dipping into one of my favorite genres, true crime, hope to see more like this! Funny thing is, my mom never heard of the Candy Man, and she was actually living in Houston at the time.
u shouldn't start that second sentance with "Funny thing is my mom lived in a place were 29 murders happened by one man back in the same day as him too!!!" edit: or three men ig
i mean yes and no? a ton of kids unfortunately endure trauma at the hands of their parents but that doesn't turn them into serial killers. it's really more nature than nurture, it's just that if you fuck up the nurturing part then the nature really goes ham and you get serial killers.
it's not weird at all, It's both a nature and nurture thing, there are some structures in the brain that handle things like stress and if they are badly formed or broken due to head trauma, cause people to become that brand of monster when they come into contact with such a situation. This is more likely to be a born in issue but there are a lot of reports of serial or spree killers having had a head injury soon before the first time they showed symptoms.
You are absolutely correct, sometimes even criminals tend to have a family crime bloodline while others are originated by severe trauma during their childhood
I love these deep dives. Not only are they informative and entertaining but Kris shows a lot of respect to the victims and their families and says the victims names, not just the killer’s. I really appreciate your heart and empathy, Kris, thank you.
This type of storytelling is my vibe. I can't get enough of this! It's stories like these that make me triple check my locks at night. My condolences go out to the families of all of the victims!
whats crazy to know is that roughly around the same time, houston had the texas klling fields, where bodies were found and due to one of the victims, tim miller, the father of laura miller, founded texas equusearch, a non profit organization to assist in search parties for missing people, theres a documentary about it called crime scene: the texas klling fields, highly recommend it
I have listed to several other videos, but Kris you are by far the best to watch or just listen to! Your voice and the way you tell the stories!!!! You are so real you rock!!!
The fact that Kris goes from reactions, horror, AITA, and now horror stories. Idk why but I’m more willing to watch Kris reading true crime than me watching a horror movie…I’d idk
Honestly Kris thank you for being a geniune weirdo like most of us and not trying to hide any of it. You are an absolute gem, keep up the amazing work :)
I love your stories Kris! One issue I have is the "just wouldn't happen these days" claim for children's disappearance seeing that uh... Child trafficking is a huge problem right now.
I think what she meant when she said "just wouldn't happen these days" is that it wouldn't be possible for so many children to go missing and neither their parents or the police caring nor doing anything about it. Obviously what you say is completely true and is a big issue but I don't think that was Kris was referring to when she said that
I think she means the lack of care from the adults in their lives. That wouldn't happen. Most people these days would notice all the kids missing. Especially from one or two neighbourhoods
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make this a series. I love how much detail you gave but also how you used humor (intentional or not) without overshadowing and the seriousness and sadisticnes. And you kept me interseted throughout id love for you to do more
Kris, you should 100% talk more about this stuff. I feel like it educates people on things that happened in the past and it makes it easy to tell if this starts happening to someone. All the victims in these cases need to have their story shared. Love your videos❤

This is 10/10, as someone who grew up with up a concerning obsession with true crime, I love the way you made this video, videos like this actually got me into studying forensics, I’m becoming a forensic pathologist, I’ve done a absurd amount of research nearly every serial killer, and this is very well researched and you made it entertaining and easy to watch
I would love to know more too

Two of my favorite things just collided. Kris's style of humor and way of telling a story and true crime. Please keep doing this!
It sounds like this guy is THE reason why parents now tell their kids "Don't take candy from strangers" Also, def need more vids like this!!
Now that I think about that, you're right! I googled the origin of it and it said it was because of "Ross's abduction "
100%
But it’s all ass backwards because he wasn’t a stranger
Thank you!
I wasn’t sure how this content was going to be when I initially saw it, but I love this slightly comical viewpoint of a deep dive on a murder case, and I definitely want to see more
It's garbage
Oooooo yas what about the muffin man
The tone Kris is speaking in is comfortable in a weird way, I love true crime but if the tone is just a bit off my anxiety acts up but the way Kris is speaking isn’t making my anxiety act up, that’s something Kris is amazing at, giving pure respect for victims and comforting as many people as possible.
I find its cuz Kris speaks matter of fact like. its not the soft tones the others do, or the super serious ones. this i could listen along to and take in the information, if kris keeps this up, should collab with coffee house crimes on things. he speaks this same way as well.
I agree with you completely. It’s like you’re listening to a best friend chat with you about it. ❤

Just extra engaging and feels like the visuals are moving along with the story
for me, it reminds me of that Jump in the Cadillac video that Tommyinnit did lol
exactly, all that editing precision is impressive ... and shes very pretty, ahhh and intelligent
Seeing the pictures of the poor smiling victims makes everything so real. This was crazy
Ah, so you lack object permanence, like an infant.

Was it Gregory Malley Winkle?
New Developments in Dean's case is that they found a child's femur at Dean Corll granny's home, a place in whcih he used to lived in when he was 19, so his murders most likely have started much earlier and he is suspected of killing up to 100 by some estimates, how this guy is not more infamous than Gacy or Dahmer is beyond me, he is way sicker than both of them because he seems to have an uncontrollable bloodlust and rage.
Is there more new information
Please cover the case on Jessica Judd! She murdered her children gruesomely. Some of my family members know this family personally. Jessica’s family used to live in the forest. Sometimes when they needed wood for fires, they would use horses to haul giant logs through the trees, whilst they were balancing on the logs going at insane speeds. My family member witnessed so many bizarre things while he was visiting this family. Very interesting case, but very sad as well.
Who? I'm not finding anything in a search.

It's crazy to think that most serial killers start off from trauma when they were little caused by parents.
Nope
It would be crazier if they didn't.
i mean yes and no? a ton of kids unfortunately endure trauma at the hands of their parents but that doesn't turn them into serial killers. it's really more nature than nurture, it's just that if you fuck up the nurturing part then the nature really goes ham and you get serial killers.
it's not weird at all, It's both a nature and nurture thing, there are some structures in the brain that handle things like stress and if they are badly formed or broken due to head trauma, cause people to become that brand of monster when they come into contact with such a situation.
YES. and the way she talks about the killers isn't in a romancing way like I've seen on other true crime channels.

whats crazy to know is that roughly around the same time, houston had the texas klling fields, where bodies were found and due to one of the victims, tim miller, the father of laura miller, founded texas equusearch, a non profit organization to assist in search parties for missing people, theres a documentary about it called crime scene: the texas klling fields, highly recommend it
