  • In this video, I go over how I used the Sitka Apex pack, what I carry in it, and my overall thoughts on the pack itself.

I have used the Sikta Apex pack over the last year primarily while hunting in the Western US for Mule Deer and Antelope. The Sitka Apex pack is a quality hunting pack, but has a few areas that don't work for how I prefer to hunt. The Sitka Apex pack doesn't handle weight the best, and if you utilize Nalgene water bottles versus a water bladder the side pockets are too shallow for use. The main compartment of the Sitka Apex pack would be well served to have a clam shell opening versus the more traditional style opening it has. With how the main compartment unzips, the Sitka Apex pack can make it difficult to locate items that are in the pack itself.
If you hunt elk in heavy timber, and don't rely heavily on transporting optics, you may find the Sitka Apex pack to meet your needs. If you are using optics like a spotting scope and carrying a bit more weight, you may find the Sitka Apex pack lacking for your needs.

Thinking of this pack for fishing, any possible locations for a long handled net? Op inf between back padding and actual cavity? Thanks for the review

Thanks for the comment - is there a specific net you’re using? I think the stretch pocket might be an okay location. If you let me know the net, I can get a few measurements and let you know what I find out!

@@stienfamilyoutdoors yeah it’s a long handled fishpond net, about 37” long. It looks like there’s a space between the back support panel and the actual backpack. Could always attach a smaller net with a carabiner and retracted off the back also. Thanks for response.

      Few measurements:
      - The stretch pocket up front is 11” deep and about 10.5” wide.
      - The water bladder pocket in the pack is 13.5” deep and 9” wide.
      Hope this helps!
