My Mum was a milliner in 30's. She always told me that from her biggest mistakes came her most wonderful creations!!! It has remained my favourite reminder about life. So I enjoyed your honesty Eppie. Love your chats with me. X
Thank you so much Kay - that’s so lovely to hear! It’s takes confidence and experience to trust that mistakes are just life’s way of steering you back onto the course!!
Such a good learning video, glad you showed both the old and the new. Redoing made it 100% better! And the string of “umm”s clip, how funny and real that was, thanks for sharing.
Looks beautiful Eppie. Love all your videos as they are honest and full of enthusiasm. Love the final result and especially with both embroideries together in their respective frames. Please add this larger frame to your collection. I would buy at least 4 in one go! X
Ahh thanks Fiona - a slow response here! Annoyingly the frame is bigger than royal mails shipping size which is the only thing that has stopped me so far! We may just have to add another shipping method for them because I also love them!
It's always a good video, Eppie. Thank you for sharing this process with us. The second frame looks beautiful and complements the embroidery very well.
Brilliant ! Your authenticity comes across so much here! It was useful to hear both why the frame design didn’t work and also, more philosophically, why the video didn’t work. Being brave enough to go public with your mistakes is an impressive thing!
Thank you! This is such an incredibly supportive community - I really feel very safe to share anything and know you’ll all just be kind and understanding! So very grateful!
YES thank you for Sharing the Video with us. I find it very helpful to see when things go not quite as expected. and that we all learn by our mistakes. I hope to always be a lifelong learner!
Thank you for another excellent video...which despite your warning wasn't shambolic to watch! A really helpful reminder that sometimes our creative vision isn't met by the produced results and rather than wallow in disappointment or just ditch the project, be brave, jettison that version and have another go. And I am great believer in the benefits of planning in all aspects of life.Love what you are doing X
I think it is always worthwhile sharing mistakes and how you get over them. I’m a primary school teacher and we do something called growth mindset and this year I read a book called beautiful oops. And it is exactly that making a mistake and how do we create from that? Thank you for sharing because it is not easy to do that. But you have taught all of us invaluable lessons through this.
Totally agree - and actually now that I have started sharing so authentically what’s going on in the business, sometimes when mistakes happen I think excellent - that will be something interesting to talk about on a video! It’s an unintentional reframing of the negative to the positive! Love that you teach to value mistakes (I am not sure I got taught that at school haha)
Your painted frames inspired me to try my own design and I found Posca acrylic paint markers useful for fine lines. I was trying for "handmade", not badly made, as you alluded to. I varnished over pen lines without mishap.
I want to be a wing it person, but as you say, its not inauthentic to plan out what youre going to say. After all, there is the phrase think before you speak! Talking in front of a camera is hard regardless 😅

@ Definitely pay more postage for the bigger frame. Ask folks for feedback on your stories!

Thank you so much - you are very kind! Agreed - it is so much better with the embroidery!

That’s such a good attitude! I have also learnt to relish the mistakes rather than feel negative because it does mean you are pushing yourself!!

Thanks so much Miriam!! Really appreciate this - and handily the video was saved by Jen’s great editing!
Great video! Thank you!
Thank you for showing the struggle. For 'not painting a perfect picture' while painting a perfect picture!
That was a great video Eppie. Definitely worth sharing ❤
Really interesting Eppie. I think having considered and prepared a plan for what you want to say can lead to greater authenticity.
Looks fabulous
That was excellent as it is very real. Thank you for sharing and being so honest ❤
A real pleasure!!
Awesome video! Authentic, honest &
sharing the true creative journey✨
I love your content.
Thank you so much Natalie!

Eppie, Slow down when you’re talking, the video needs a slow pace and calming approach. Your work is stunning 🤍🌿

💯 some people are so good at winging it - but I am definitely a think before I speak or every other word is ummm, soooo, or like… haha
You were trying to engage Right and Left Brain at the same time-instructing, speaking while painting . . . Tough to do.
Yes totally - I think that’s why I need a good structured plan if I am trying to an activity and talk! Definitely no more off the cuff !!
