Well, when the normal restraints and expectations of society collapse; the real "raw" emotions and thoughts of people get exposed...and not everyone's a hero.
A lot of them could have been recruitable in the games if you just talked it out properly... With the first game; Cliff for example. He's the guy with the machete in the hardware store who was the Vietnam veteran with PTSD. After you kill him, he hands you his wallet with a photo of his family and says;"As soon as I saw them die...The war just came back..." Sad, but could have been avoided. Frank could've just faked a rank and just said;"Private Frank West!" or something like that, told him the safe area is a "Camp" and a helicopter is coming to bring him home while the other people were other . He probably would have calmed down, gotten some therapy and been able to be at home to slowly accept facts. With the hunting rifle family of three, Thomas was the one reluctant when they kept on pressuring him to shoot normal people instead of zombies. Thomas could have been spared if you were to kill the other two first, have a cutscene play where he's quivering on the floor, Frank comes by and just tells him he's not going to kill him like the others. It'd be a horrible thing to have to deal with, but it's better than seeing him dead. With the second game; Theodore and Snowflake could BOTH be spared if you just didn't say "Slow". True, neither character knew that, but there was literally a meat freezer right next to one of the entrances you come across before getting to the scene where he grabs you after saying;"Snowflake hungry." He's not the smartest and "Slow" was the word that ticked him off, but what could have happened was just a calm talk like they were getting at before saying;"Let's just take this nice and slow" which made him get aggressive again. Granted they didn't know, it could've been avoided still. Then there's the third one where there's effectively the seven deadly sins for bosses; The one really muscular lady named "Jherii" was only aggressive much like Ted was; She was called "Mister" by the main character. She could've just been talked to properly and you'd not have to fight her, but nope. Cutscene has the main character being dumb and assuming things, especially when you can CLEARLY hear the feminine voice.
Also frank is an asshole throughout the game so it’s in his character o do dumb shit. A lot of your points are extremely flawed, faking a rank to a man who it having a militarized psychotic break could easily lead to “that’s what a Vietcong would say!” Now I don’t know a lot about PTSD and the developers surely didn’t but I know you know the same amount I do.
I love how the bloody mess that Cliff made is still there for the rest of the game. And I definitely love how those guys in yellow coats take over the movie theater. The boss room for the movie theater is actually already accessible the moment you enter the paradise plaza, manikin and all.
I always found it touching when someone goes crazy after something fucked up happens to them only for their humanity to come back while they're dying, Clint was the only psychopath to do that in the in the dead rising series I know, I would have thought there would be more moments like that, but no. RIP Clint
***** while, yes, ted was just a guy that got wronged by life one way or another like "Zhi" but he didn't have that reflection that he realised that he went crazy like Cliff did.

Now, obviously I'm no expert and have no idea if these would work, but it's worth a try to deescalate the situation. Convicts: No dice, they're just looking to hurt people. Adam the Clown: React to him with joy, ask to see a balloon animal or something. He seemed broken by not being a 'walking punchline' anymore. Reassure him you won't touch the ride and indulge his wanting to be 'fun'. Just... stay out of range of the chainsaws, just in case he wants to do a particular 'magic trick' or something. Cletus: Ffs, DO NOT WALK FORWARD! Justify his last shot to him and stay back as he's requesting. Ask if he needs anything, ask if you can BUY something from him, give him a sense of greater control so he doesn't panic and shoot. He says straight up he can't trust anyone, so ask if there's anything he wants that would help get the trust ball rolling a bit. Steven: Go 'Karen' on him. React with outrage, claim that you are a PAYING customer, are unhappy with being spoken to that way. Hell, even if he IS one, ask to see a manager. His obsession with his store being run properly likely extends to customer service as well, so if he is made to feel as though he has wronged a customer and hurt the store's reputation, it may actually cow him and make him more compliant. Cliff: Your camera is your ticket here. Show it to him. Claim you're a war journalist that was separated from the unit you were following after an attack. War journalists were not uncommon during the Vietnam War and many who had to witness the action were sympathetic to what the soldiers were experiencing. This would have been a very easy way to establish a bond with Cliff in the midst of his PTSD until he could be properly calmed down. Jo: No dice, that is a one track mind and your train ain't on it! Halls: Thomas might have been reasoned with after the other two were dealt with if he could be made to understand that his dad and brother got themselves killed with their actions and that the pressure is now off of Thomas since they can't order him around anymore. Sean: This boy is somewhere over the rainbow, no talking this one out. But Frank suffers cutscene syndrome here and lets the guy monologue when he should have taken that time to give his head a 45 caliber sunroof mid-speech. Paul: I think Paul actually CAN be talked down and saved in-game. Kent: Nope, Kent's gotta go. This is the kind of guy who's dangerous even when there's no zombie apocalypse. Larry: Agree that you want the 'meat', but make up some crap about a family recipe and needing it to be a whole roast, needed live for an event coming up that you don't want it going bad before. After all, Larry has a 'reputation to uphold' and it won't do to give customers their 'meat' improperly prepared. 50/50 chance this would work. At worst, you give him some ventilation when he goes to prepare things. Cheap shots are love, cheap shots are life. Brock: No dice, there's no talking to that. Maybe if Cliff were still alive he would have had some clout with this guy, but even that's doubtful.
+Brandon Johnson I know what you mean. However the point of this video was to show off the actual psychos themselves - not the fights. Not to mention the video would be WAY too long if I included the fights as well, so there you have it. :/
It's amazing how two of the strongest psychopaths can be encountered so early into the game. Adam is very strong for your current level. Fortunately, the police zombies nearby have handguns if you ever need a refill, so it isn't really that hard. But Cletus, he's irritating no matter what you do. Try to aim a shot and he'll shoot before you can. Try to attack with the small chainsaw, and he'll throw you over the desk. Good thing you can get some PP when he drinks for some reason.
Cletus is much harder than Adam because he constantly regenerates health if you don’t keep attacking him. He’s probably one of the more frustrating bosses in the game.
A strategy I have for Cletus is to wait to kill the convicts before you want to confront Cletus. Then take the convicts machine gun and gun Cletus down from very far away. He won’t shoot at you if you stay far enough from the stores door and the machine gun is accurate and very strong. He’ll be dead fast.
If you've ever worked in retail. That's definitely what you would do to your customers if there is an outbreak. You might have, who knows I won't assume.
Y’know, I kinda felt bad for Cletus. He’s only trying to protect himself, and his self-protectiveness is what does him in when he can’t listen to reason. Poor guy.
@@jamesedleymusic yeah, I wish you could save him in both versions. Because he becomes your friendly gunstore owner and is on good relations with Frank for the rest of the game.
He’s kind of a hypocrite though, between calling Frank crazy for wanting to kill someone for guns (which he didn’t) and trying to get sympathy from him right after killing someone else
I feel sorry for that gun store owner. He honestly was just worried and caught up in the moment. Had he been talked to a bit more he could have been saved.
Guys. I just found something even darker about this game. The shop guy’s last words were, “CLEAN UP, REGISTER 6” He *Died* at *Register 6* and telling someone to clean up his dead body! 💀
There's a secret cut scene where if u go back to brad he is alive for a little bit and tells u to not tell Jessie about him he is about to die because his intestines is ripped out and he is about to turn into a zombie and it is very sad it made me cry but frank doesn't put him out of his misery he walks away and doesn't close his eyes like he did with Cliff but he was a good man r.i.p brad he will always be in our hearts and cliff his death scene made me cry to I would problay go crazy if my grand daughter die by zombies why did he have to die I hate that but I still love capcom and the snipers Thomas was nice and didn't want to shoot but his brother and dad made him shoot that was sad and Adam was just sad that nobody loved him anymore
coming back to this years later just to go on record and say that Adam's death scarred me for life. I mean it's quite obvious, the guy gets ripped apart by his own chainsaws for god's sake, what could get more gorier than 2 chainsaws to the stomach, turned on and turning your insides into mush? Atleast we got to meet his (not) canon brother in the other version of Dead Rising 2. Though his death was dulled down, just to being frozen then kicked quite literally to the curb.
Cliff and Cletus were both not really bad Cliff was suffering from ptsd and was scared and confused. Cletus was just trying to keep himself safe and didn't want anyone to use them against him. He even verbally warns them and fires a clear warning shot.
Anyone else feel like Cliff was the least psycho outta all the psychopaths? Dude was legit going through a mental breakdown from the past war as a solider and when Frank learned about what happened to Cliff's granddaughter he showed respect to him by giving some final peace of mind by closing his eye's shut, legit the only "psycho" in the game where frank actual does this small gesture to and I think it really stands out as one of the most memorable moments in the game.

I had completely forgotten that the puppet from Goosebumps, the source of my childhood nightmares, is also named Mr. Slappy. Sorry for the confusion.

Cliff is Tank Dempsey
The voice actor, yes.
Merle and 1.0 tank combined
Which one is cliff? The hatchet man?
Devan Hixson Yeah.
No, he's voiced by Steve Blum.
www.behindthevoiceactors.com/Steve-Blum/
I always sympathized with Brad, as the token black guy he lasted so long just to get eaten by the hottest zombie in the series.
I actually feel bad for Cliff...He lost his family...
@@Kaijufan360 yeah I didnt even wanna kill him :(
I'm curious, when you're fighting the father with the two sons, can you save Thomas? He seems innocent
No you cannot.
+MrToastsandwich Oh man, now I feel bad for me.
It sucks, I know.
+MrToastsandwich the video was good npand all but I thought you would be doing the whole bossfight not just the final hit
+Brandon Johnson I know what you mean. However the point of this video was to show off the actual psychos themselves - not the fights. Not to mention the video would be WAY too long if I included the fights as well, so there you have it. :/
R.I.P
cliff Hudson
1945-2006
may his Steven blume voice rest in peace
Steven:Nobody vandlizes my store
Frank:I am here for the my milk
Steven:give me 5 dollers
frank:thanks XD
Frank"kills Steve"
Jo the police officer's death is the weirdest death I've ever seen...
Fun fact, she weren't even a cop. If you look at her badge closely it says mall security
Steven:MY STORE
Frank:I need sum zombrex bruh
Steven:AISLE 3 5th row
Frank;thanks
when the store guy yelled,"clean up register 6", that scared the living daylights out of me
Cliff, the equivalent of "Vietnam Flashback"
Steven is my spirit animal.
(WAR CRY)CLEAN UP REGISTER 6
If you've ever worked in retail. That's definitely what you would do to your customers if there is an outbreak. You might have, who knows I won't assume.
6:59 Adam the Clown died as he lived, “Laughing like a fucking lunatic”
Steven's death was sad I thought, he was sad that no one would take care of his store
I know i know but still its sad, he cares about it but gone insane becuase of the zombie outbreak and all that jazz
i think the scariest boss is adam the clown
Wijaya Dharma agreed
Anthony Pham hm
*cof cof* slappy *cof cof*
+KaiDraw I'm pretty sure he meant in the first game.
Joshua Coleman ok
I feel sorry for cliff the hatchet man... I have a friend who was in Iraq and he suffered PTSD when he cam back.
And I know very little about how they suffers due to him.....
주장훈 sorry for ur friend man
주장훈 dude I am really sorry for ur friend
주장훈 I feel sorry for him but what's ptsd
its post traumatic stress disorder
Y’know, I kinda felt bad for Cletus. He’s only trying to protect himself, and his self-protectiveness is what does him in when he can’t listen to reason. Poor guy.
It’s a shame that you can’t save him like in the Wii version. To be honest though, his boss fight is so frustrating that I have to take it back.
You can actually save him in the wii versión
It's cool some of these bosses have a downer outro to show how tragic these people actually are
Ok.... Kent the photographer looks just like Larry Butz from Ace Attorney.
No joke. Look up both of them side by side.
Adam the Clown's Death Actually terrified me when I was turning 8 years old, now I got older, I now ain't afraid anymore.....
Guys. I just found something even darker about this game.
The shop guy’s last words were, “CLEAN UP, REGISTER 6”
He *Died* at *Register 6* and telling someone to clean up his dead body! 💀
Damn
Woah, creepy
Yeah uh, fucking duh!!!
That's, like, the whole entire point of the joke???
r/fuckingwhoosh
Link?
I know, and... He turned into a zombie 💀
Adam:Stay away from there, gramps!
Frank:I'm 27.
Adam:Oh😐😐😐
coming back to this years later just to go on record and say that Adam's death scarred me for life.
16:21 I think that machete man is the voice actor for Dempsey in BO2 and BO3
I know
It's Steve Blum.
So is daddy hall.
And the sniper dad with Thomas and his other son
Anthony22SGA he's also wolverine
For an old game these cut scenes are pretty damn entertaining to watch.
Adam the Clown is a fusion of a chainsaw weilding maniac, Pennywise, and The Joker
With the voice of the Cryptkeeper to boot!
Cliff and Cletus were both not really bad
Cliff was suffering from ptsd and was scared and confused.
Cletus was just trying to keep himself safe and didn't want anyone to use them against him. He even verbally warns them and fires a clear warning shot.
Cletus suffers from paranoid schizophrenia.
Cliff the Hatchet Man 15:25 is voiced by Steve Blum. My god. Hearing him voice this sadistic war veteran makes me think way too much of Tank Dempsey.
There's never gonna be another game franchise like dead rising again
1 month ago
Anyone else feel like Cliff was the least psycho outta all the psychopaths? Dude was legit going through a mental breakdown from the past war as a solider and when Frank learned about what happened to Cliff's granddaughter he showed respect to him by giving some final peace of mind by closing his eye's shut, legit the only "psycho" in the game where frank actual does this small gesture to and I think it really stands out as one of the most memorable moments in the game.
#Respect4CliffHudson
He just lost all :(
It's just a game don't, not real. So no need to start a hashtag.
Kaden Dowdle You know the meaning of?, SARCASM!!!
El usuario Bugueado ok one problem I'm Vietnamese but I'm not a communist I'm from south vietnam
#Respect4CliffHudson
@@kadendowdle6974 :'D your shitty hashtags mean nothing irl anyway. His joke is just as real as the use for this shit in real life. If you hastag pray for some shit , do you really think for real that you make a change. Don't make me laugh
I like how dead rising just keeps connecting to each part
In the wii version, Cletus can actually be saved. I like to think him and Paul would be good friends
I love the games psychopaths, they’re so goofy and disturbing at the same time
Man the storyline in this game and the characters just feel like they make sense.
Especially Larry since he's an allegory for Carlito's views on the USA, quite literally butchering him to feed an American
6:19 I believe those dolls were kids, turned into dolls.
Nah they’re just dolls, originally, they were supposed to be actual dead kids, but ofc capcom wouldn’t allow that
Gacha cringe 🤛(👁👃👁)👍

@@foodood8895 oh hi dinosaur chicken nugget
where were you last time I got happy meal
I wonder if Steve and the Mr. Slappy mascot (from Dead Rising 2) are related in a way. Both get up right before expiring to yell something at the camera before fully expiring.
Slappy from goosebumps??
@@maxemerson6955 I believe I was actually referring a character from Dead Rising 2. The boss was called Mr. Slappy the Mascot. Both bosses had the sudden urge to start dying but then suddenly come right back to life to yell something nonsensical at the camera before dying completely. I had completely forgotten that the puppet from Goosebumps, the source of my childhood nightmares, is also named Mr. Slappy. Sorry for the confusion.
Cliff had a good reason to be bad. His own granddaughter died and when he heard her scream he lost it. I just hope that man can meet his granddaughter where there is no pain, no fear, and no danger
"I've covered Wars before you know"
That won't make you ready for an insane chainsaw juggling clown though will it...
I always remember the shopping cart guy getting tired and falling on his cart. Impaling him saying "This is my store...." then dying
I feel bad for Thomas Hall. He’s legit being forced to kill
Its crazy but if you are surviving a zombie apocalypse. Its your PTSD that is keeping you alive, and thats not really a good thing either.
who else cant wait for the Pychopaths in Dead Rising 4?
King Ezekiel there won't be any... :(
ICK CREAM Aaaand DR4 sucks ass
ICK CREAM me
Man I feel so bad reading this comment now that DR4 is out. Capcom owes you an apology.
Kara with gun Actually they owe us Dead Rising Fans an apology
14:07 even in death he gotta keep his store nice and tidy
For the game's age, these graphics are great.
i like this game cause it’s not just a zombie game filled with military commanders and stuff, there’s actually just normal people who went insane
14:08 CLEAN UP REGISTUH SIX
14:06
This is the best game of the series. It’s gone off the rails, but the first one is the best.
I hate how the main character doesn't respond to a lot of the conversations
His death tho. He dies, Then Come Back Yelling “CLEAN UP, ON REGISTER 6!” and then dies again.
6:50 Kids, don't play with chainsaws! Do you want *this* to be you?
12:18 *THIS IS MY STORE!!!*
32:07 What kind of person would want to eat Human Meat?! That's disgusting!
I can't unsee how Kent reminds me of Larry Butz from Ace Attorney.
6:50 He died of laughter..
*_j o k e_*
Man is the real monster.
As cruel and evil as they were, the Convicts are probably my favorite. It was so entertaining watching three friends having fun together even in such a psychotic manner. Plus, their theme was on fleek.
Me and my amigos doing a little trolling (Killing innocent people, so reletable)
I cant believe I never played this game this is the best zombies game ever
