    Thank you for bringing us along on this journey in such a real way. I love seeing you move into your dream home and look forward to watching it evolve over time. I also love to think of future Carter and Matt looking back to see how their beautiful home has turned into theirs over the years. Kudos to you both for doing things DIY and thrifting - we love to see it! So inspiring to look for things second hand and try projects myself. ❤️ from BC

    feel for you! i am so surprised your home inspection didn't catch the plethora of issues. Some seem to be health and safety issues. Here in the US the seller would have had to make a lot of the repairs in order to ever close on the house UNLESS it was a full cash sale and then the buyer could waive all the issues/repairs needed. Feel for you guys. This is a lot.

      I never really talked in depth about our home inspection, negotiating the price on our house, all the work needed, etc. so maybe this is a good opportunity to explain that a bit further !! 🥰 We knew most of these issues going into the house and that's why we negotiate the price on it and got it for such a good deal!
      Just because we have found small issues with the house doesn't mean that our inspector didn't do a good job! A lot of these issues (actually most of these issues) we knew about during our home inspection and that's why we got such a great deal on the house!
      Our home inspector did an amazing job and pointed out everything we needed to know about. But home inspectors can't find every little hidden detail for you (like lack of insulation behind the door because they're not gonna take down the trim to look for it). Home inspectors really just look after structural, plumbing, electrical, HVAC etc. We knew buying this house that the windows were not well insulated . Some of these items are some really small things that were not the home inspector's responsibility to find.
      We knew that a lot of the projects done in this house we're not done properly once again, which is why we negotiated the price on the house!
      We knew that our shed roof was caving in and would most likely have to be demolished for example. But overall anything that we found since buying the house is a very very small issue that we can repair on our own for cheap! ☺️

      Glad it's not overwhelming for you two and you can fix it all on your own without too much time and expense. Looks like a lot from a viewer side.

      Oh 100%. It is a lot of work that needs to be done even from the home buyer side but we bought this house because it's a fixer-upper and we got such a great deal on it so we knew this going into it. It is a big project for us.!

      I hope you literally got it for half price cause I can’t even imagine the amount of money you’re gonna have to sink into it

    • @CarterSullivan

      @@nedtechgirl well good thing we bought it and not you ❤️ we love this home and obviously it needs work, it's a fixer upper... but the house is actually in GREAT condition for being 100 years old! it has no foundation, electrical, plumbing, roofing (on the house) issues so we are actually doing great! Most of the work on it is cosmetic like modernizing it abit and things we can do ourselves! Also in this day and age fixer uppers is honestly all people our age can afford with house prices and interest rates here in Canada so we take what we can get 🤷🏼‍♀️

    I hate flare sheets too! I now use them to put over my duvet for my dogs who shed like crazy! No shedding on my bed 😊

    Oh yes the joys of living in an old home. My husband and I lived in a lot more damaged house let’s say 😅. The sewage outlflow pipe from the septic tank blew up on us 😂. Tbh the house probably needs to be torn and rebuilt. It was sold for land value (50 acres).

      @@CarterSullivan we enjoyed our time in the old house but we couldn’t stay for complicated reasons I can’t really/would take a novel. We definitely will look into an older home for our next house.

    • @CarterSullivan
      @CarterSullivan  11 месяцев назад

      It probably looked some what organized, but it was one of those spaces that we just kind of threw stuff in when we moved! And it was very cluttered and not organized in terms of the actual bins! A lot of it was still in it's like moving containers!
