Also, I have another method for the screws; I draw the map of the laptop and put screws as per plan I draw. Much easier as I will not lose the spot.

Hey, my vaio VPCCA16FG's fan is working (i can hear it cause its pretty loud) but it overheats a lot faster than when i first bought it. I thought it might've been dirty, so I opened up the back to check, but it looked fine. The difference between the first time i got the laptop and now is that it seems that the fan doesnt run as fast as it used to, making it overheat faster and turn off. Would i need to get a new fan altogether or is there something else i can change such as the thermal paste?
I got a question for yo brian . I starting a computer repair shop from my house and the question is . do you charge for diagnostic ? and if you do how do you charge. I will appreciate your aswer.
Yes we have a minimum charge of $45 for any work done. Covers our 1/2 diagnostic. We didn't always have this, we did free diagnostics when we were first getting started. Think about that...

i got a question for you. i have a Toshiba satellite L 655, and when i start it up, if i let it run just the windows, my CPU fan is not running, if i get program running it will start up is this O.K....?....i do get the heat problem....90*C overheat shut down....What do you think? hi good day i have a problem in my sony vaio win xp first is function ok then i install norton antivirus after installation the only thing you saw the logo of win xp then continous reading and reading thats it it cant open normally untill now still reading,i want to format but it cant read the drive d can you help me sir to back in normal ty.

Hey Brian Keep them tutorials coming really great stuff i really enjoy watching you at work I have been dabbling in Laptops for a few years now and whenever 'there's an issue with overheating laptops i prefer to use Copper Shims as well as the Arctic silver 5 thermal paste

I had to repair the fan on a similar Vaio model and found the same piece of broken plastic inside!
