Rear tail lamp cluster reminds me of great looking Peugeot 508. Front fascia of this car a lot better looking than all the VW sedans ( EV sedans included ) from Europe and U.S. with exception of Arteon.
This looks like it was designed by Koreans. I can see K5, Ioniq 6 and a little Sonata in this design. That’s not a dig, I like the way all those cars look, but this doesn’t look like a VW to me.
I love how you trash capacitive touch. I never understood why the heck a designer would ever put it in a car. It’s just not very practical at all. 100% agree with your candid review.
This car is so confusing to me, coming from America and living in the European market. It seems like they slapped a new design and infotainment on an effectively 8 year old car, in a segment that doesn't really exist outside of China: Midsize sedans with a focus on extra rear legroom. It makes sense that this is exclusive to China, and reviews like this are the reason I am subscribed to you.
The rear is a knock off Peugeot 508 and the front is a knock off cat fish... not very good looking IMO. I'll save a few grand and buy a better used MK7 Golf.
@@benjaminkessler8169 Well I do drive an Arteon, 2020 R-Line used, with only 4000k still very expensive 50k. But I drive my old B6 2006 Passat as my go to work car. Roads and salt winter conditions over here destroys cars. Especially people that don’t care about other people’s cars. They bump, scratch, nick doors, especially in parking lots. But my Arteon, doesn’t have the bigger HP engine, which annoys me a bit. That’s why I waited until, I started to look for a new one and the dealer only had white ones left. Which I can’t see myself driving a white car, unless it’s a loaner.
@@stevenhombrados1530 glad you have one. over here we do have the SB but no one buys it. rarely see them on the road and they are just too much money. its basically a Passat for a lot more money
@@benjaminkessler8169 Yeah... a luxury Passat, I’d say. I do love the way it drives, and people have no clue what car it is. But I miss certain things that my old Passat has that the Arteon doesn’t have. Like the umbrella holder, and more storage compartments in the driver seat. I drove from Montreal to Matane about 700k at an average speed of 145k/h more or less and if I really wanted I could of done it in 5 h or less. But the driving was so smooth, and comfortable. But what cool is that I’m almost the only driving this car here, sure I could of bought an Audi 5 or Audi 7. But I find too many out there ans I find them small, for me. Plus paying 70k is to much.
VW made its name with small economical cars. It’s time they emphasized that end of their fleet and focused on small EVs for the Canadian market. We don’t need large luxurious ICE cars nor do we need to be limited to EV SUVs. I’m waiting to replace my 20 year old Golf with a small manoeuvrable EV. And waiting and waiting.
yeah... no! vw thinks its audi, and uses Skoda and Seat to build "affordable cars" - forget your affordable vw in next 10 years... dont forget DieselGate
EA390 2.5T VR6, in Chinese version Talagon and Teramont (Atlas) as the optional engine, 220KW/500NM(295hp/369Ibft), paired with a 7-speed DSG, compared to US/CA 3.6NA VR6 which is 206KW/361NM(276hp/266Ibft) with 8AT, noticeably quicker
Why cant the North American market get anything that looks like this... i seriously dont understand why a large market is ignored. Gas prices are skyrocketing and it doesnt look like it will be going down any time soon so people will be ditching their large SUVs for smaller cars. Problem is all the manufactures for America have thought short term and cut off smaller offerings.
the sales of ev in china around 15-20% compared to ICE car. so ICE car still a big martket there. if you buy an ICE car you need to pay 10k usd for the plate number.
Well, VW is still behind in that cathegory. They wouldn't have anything like this to offer. The new Sedan (Aero) isn't released yet. So, thats why they try to sell ICE instead.
It's baffling VW took the ICE route in 2022 . They ought to have done a pilot EV program in that market. Once fully established in the next few years, they can focus on the EU & US market. Especially with budget EVs like the Lamando.
The result of a horny Korean 2014 Hyundai Elantra and a surprised young French Peugeot 508. Funny enough, I paid back in 2014 28,500 USD for my former Elantra, which also had ventilated and heated front seats.
Chinese car buyers really care about whether their passengers are comfortable or not. I rarely see this as a concern here in the US when people buy cars, most people rarely have people in the backseat I guess. In China it’s something they care about.
On my opinion the Volkswagen Arteon looks way more better than this car and has the higher quality. Greets. Especially the Lightbar doesn't fit with the main headlights. Greets
The VW Arteon looks better imo.
It's also double the price
That is very nice
This, sadly outside of Europe its almost unheard of
@@TheOnlyMMshow actually. Arteon is being manufactured and sold in China. Only under a different name called "CC"

from the front headlights I see a Kia EV

if this is the best looking, I really dont want to see the rest of the lineup..
Believe me no1 will show u 😂
Gorgeous exterior design I must agree. The powertrain spec is a major turnoff for me at least.
Chinese automotive market in a nutshell. Great looking cars with features galore but with mediocre powertrains.
What's wrong with the powertrain?
Honestly looks like it took inspiration from the mk8 golf, gti and r models
Looks like Ioniq 6 and Arteon had a night out 😂
I like it, kind of like a stylish Skoda Octavia. Shame it has the horrible VW capacitive controls.
The rear tail lights looks like the Kia K5. The clampshell hood reminded me of the Kia EV6.

China market is huge😁
If it follows the pattern of the old China spec Passat, it will crumple like a paper airplane in an accident. ☠️
put that interior in the 2023 jetta exterior. perfect car.
I took so many Lamando Didi cars in Xian when there !
Man, I love your videos! Everytime I watch the cars you present makes me want to move to China!
looks more like a modern Chinese ICE car and side profile looks dated, but the EV designs from China are killing it.
Can you do a review on the Volkswagen Viloran?
Hey, I just recently found your channel, what gave you the idea to start making reviews on Chinese market cars? Just curious.
Looks freakin awesome 🤘
its crazy they dont sell this in the us
