He's had controls problems all throughout his pro career and it hasn't gotten consistently better. Yes he has the stuff but that doesn't mean anything if he can locate his pitches.
I wasn't expecting much from his first start given his control issues, but I do expect him to figure it out at the MLB level. When he hit his spots.....look out. But he was missing his spots most of the time, looked like a kid with a racing heart the whole game and seemed jacked to the tits in certain counts...expecting the out instead of executing the pitch. I am pumped about him and a couple other arms in the Rangers' farm system. Dud was a harsh adjective. Roller coaster was more like it....more twists and turns and downs than ups.
What you're saying suggests he's better than his 6-17 record would indicate. I didn't follow him so was he just on crappy teams that couldn't win or...?
Taking the L on one part here. He had more walks in college than I had remembered. I just remember him dominating like a boss at Vandy and he did. But walk rate was meh
over or under how many Rays pitchers will hit Yankees hitters in series. Dirty Maton over 2 hit Yankees batters. his excuse when he played against Rangers " i had no control over my pitches"
stop this nonsense. I feel so old. Al Leiter played when I was in middle school and I hate that Jack Leiter is in the league now and I hate even more that he looks like his dad. Ugggggh old age
@khsbaseball16 Well there you go, LinkRocks posted you have Javier. Since you think you know a lot but you don't, the Rangers have 3 starters out until May, June and July
@@neohuerta713 are you dumb? We don’t have McCullers, Javier, Garcia, Urquidy, JV is returning today and Valdez is on the IL as well. Talk when you can provide anything of value to the conversation 🤡
His entire AA, AAA, minor league careers were duds. 6-17 total with a 5.xx era and he gets called up? Somebody's getting favoritism because of his dad. No one else would get called up doing that poorly.
I started him in Fantasy 😂😵💫
Same got cucked
😢
He did do better than the other pitcher. He does look like he has the stuff. It's amazing how often really talented pitchers get hit in MLB.

If he gets out of there with 4ER like he deserves it’s looked at way better
true
Leody cucked him
ur sorry excuse 🤡
He still looked bad before that misplay. Y'all like to make excuses for the guy because you want him to be something he's not.

@@J.C... Does anybody other than a career minor leaguer care about their record on the farm? That's some deep cut senselessness.
Not all can have dream debuts

Wow, it's amazing how fast time flies. Before you know it, we'll be watching the son of a current big league player in the majors.
You guys arnt old. Wait until you hit your 70s
Lol yeah. At my first baseball card show in 1989, I got Dante Bichette's Autograph on his 89 Topps card.
The Astros are missing a full starting rotation
Who Who Who ?? Cares !!
@@neohuerta713 I mean… you care enough to comment sooooo

Imho they called him up in fact because he was struggling ; they dropped big draft pick and cash on him so they sort of had to.
JC, you posted my exact opinion on Leiter. He needs to be in the minors right now !
it's bcus maddux is the pitching coach....he's too old school to tell jack to throw high fastballs...which is his bread and butter
Rich kids suck at sports…
