- (December 2022 and 2020 for machine room) This is an amazing building. The whole place is just historic. Enjoy as we walk the steps, look at the elevator machine room, and of course ride the elevator.

Nice to see that these are still original
They are awesome
Awesome Elevator
It was
Yes
"Burn calories and not electricity." I love it. Classic line. I wish I would have come up with that line. But that what makes you so unique.
This building actually reminds me of an apartment building I used to deliver food to back when I was living in Los Angeles. It was this old high-rise in downtown that was filled marble and had these giant pillars. It was so beautiful. In a way it felt as though I was stepping back in time several decades earlier every time I stepped foot inside that building. Although the elevator ride was a bit shaky, and I never knew if I would get out of there alive, the place had so much personality. They just don't make structures like that anymore.
Thank you for continuing to upload top quality elevator videos. DieselDucy your videos are absolutely fascinating. That is because YOU are a fascinating man. Keep on riding those elevators. Alrrrrrrrriiiiiiiight!
Thank you for continuing to keep me entertained as well 😊😊😊. Our silly sayings are one of the things that set our channels apart in our respective genres.
Welcome Andrew!

@@DieselDucy sure is. I love these beautiful restored old places
With Aaron Otis lexan 2 speed door B L 3 doesn't work door close works with a view of the steps and machine room left elevator doesn't work
Yep
Gearless motors and advancer selectors for an 11-story building? Seems overkill but very cool!
Pretty much! Built solid though.
Cool
Thanks
Where are your Sony cameras and why do you not use it?
I have retired them. The iPhone takes an overall better video and is much easier for my work flow
What is your favorite thing in Roanoke mainly?
My house lol.
How old is this elevators?
20 s probably. Mod in the 50s
@@DieselDucy Is this building have originally manually controlled elevators? Is there a service elevator?
Gear-less traction machine, not unheard of in low and mid rise buildings with a 2:1 roping. However this machine appears small in size, maybe a "baby/mini Otis gear-less traction?" I recall from another video where a "baby traction" was installed the data plate showed 150V DC, pulling close to 100A. This is an interesting vintage elevator with the pie plate floor selector, MG set and controller. The MG is noisy, might be wear on the communicator bars or brushes and/or block bearings.
This was awesome to see
Will you be live streaming today? Love ur live streams
MAYBE later tonite. I am about to go to work now.
Never judge a book by its cover!
Yep!
Hey dieselducy rec the elevator sigma
Ok
😍😍😍😍😍
I love these.
God those generators are loud
They are epic
Hey go by chimney rock if your going up north, you won’t regret it😉
I should. What’s up there ?
@@DieselDucy there is a amazing view up there, then there is a restaurant, the opera box which is a photo place, then devils head, and because elevatours are about being healthy, there are stairs to the top rather than the elevator and a hiking trail to a huge waterfall, and there is the Otis elevator that goes through the mountain.
Here is a video of the elevator going through the mountain while redoing it

This elevator and the place itself is absolutely amazing and stunning I absolutely luv luv this tour especially the elevator and you checked out the machine room. I have to ask if you were allowed to check the machine room becuase usually elevator machine rooms are for authorized persons only and also it can kill you. I want you to be extremely careful and cautious just for your information
Believe me. I know what I am doing. I show machines every chance I get.
Elevator machine room found guilty in death of young man, gets life in prison..........
I will say certain areas will not allow you to record elevators. You should ask for permission to record elevators before you do so in certain areas.😅
Sometimes it is better to beg for forgiveness than to ask permission.
I'm not too happy with you that was very irresponsible of you to leave the motor room open like that you did not have to lock it im saying just close both of the doors so kids will think its locked and wont go in there
That place has been wide open for years. I leave stuff as I find it. Take only photos. Leave only foot prints.
@@DieselDucy ok I'm just going to be honest and tell the truth the reason I left that comment there was because I was worried about kids safeties and I was also was curious I wanted to hear how quiet it was with the Machinery room doors shut because I'm one of those weird people
@@SylvieonPiggyFan29YT I totally get it. I love the sounds too. Just when I go in places I don’t like to mess with stuff. I just look and appreciate. And yes it is a very bad idea for them to leave their motor room just wide open like that.
@@DieselDucy i leave thing the way they are when i go to places but if its a motor room that is left open i just close it to keep little kids out but i leave it unlock if it needs to be worked on so kids think its locked but its not so it can be worked on
I guess you sure like to be healthy
Of course :). I feel great
