I am curious how this tech will evolve in 5 to 10 years.
    The main drawbacks I see:
    cost
    duration
    that backpack

Main drawback is making the supporting muscles weaker, which will make knee pain increase without this device.

Reply all those who are commenting that Neuralink is a scam, you need to understand that when some one fund some thing like Neura Link you are financing the dream, the idea. You are investing to make if a reality. But many times many things fail to become reality or it becomes reality after some time. Neuralink is still in its early stage for you to call it a scam.

Look, the dream of being able to control our computers and devices with our thoughts is not the same as Neuralink. Neuralink is promising that dream but it is a scam to steal your money. You don't have to give up that dream to realize when someone is scamming you.
Hyperloop is also a scam. It's never going to happen.
Elon promising to make a colony on Mars is also a scam. It's not going to happen in our lifetimes. We can barely establish colonies in the harshest regions on Earth. Mars is a thousand times harsher. Musk is a con-man not a genius.

Only at 29 I got my knee PRP Injection from Regenexx. And my God after two months of physiotherapy I am back to jogging and excercising without any pain or swelling. But I stopped all contact sports from my second injury. But this robotics is good for Senior citizens and I see mysef using it for hiking.

I think it would be better to go to the root source of what's causing the pain. Using something like this that takes the load off is just going to make the supporting muscles weaker and make your knees even weaker. More likely to have pain.
