  • How To Make A Bo-Ho Wedding Bouquet Using Floral Egg
    So a floral egg? No, it’s not something for Easter, it’s an armature to use to create bouquets either for weddings or as a gift. This egg is a modern re-invention from Syndicate Sales in America and is easy to use. The advantage is the support that it gives for heavier materials. Is it better than just hand tying flowers? Well, you will probably use less material, so the bouquet is a bit lighter physically, but if you are happy just hand tying then great, if not then this could be a good help. Knowing both is a good thing - and anything new is worth exploring. As a re-invention it was a technique that was of value before - this gives you a consistent egg. Happy designing!
    Ingredients - we used a big variety of garden style materials, including hydrangea, large headed roses, spray roses, amarine, phlox, pink calla lily, eucalyptus, French ruskus, salal, sedum, hedera and more!

    A nice bouquet for a larger woman wearing a plain gown. Not too many petite brides could carry it off well. And brides with more elaborate designed gowns, seed beads, crystals, lace and ruffles--that sort of thing wouldn't want a bouquet that detracts from the gown's design. That being said, I do love the organic look of your bouquet.

    What a glorious bouquet!! The new floral egg and other shaped plastic arrangement holders, look like they are going to give you and other florists, options in your arrangements, that weren't possible, or difficult to accomplish, with the floral foam. If this option catches on quickly in the floral community...imagine...all that could be possible! :) Gretchen Belken

    Morning John and Janos xx
    John this is exquisite ❤️ This is my style completely! However, I could never hold so many stems at one time and keep them in place!! You’re right, when they get huge they are difficult to handle...especially with little hands like mine. I feel very lucky that I am recommended to create lovely gentle garden style bouquets and weddings for many years. I don’t do so many now but when I do... you can find me in my studio smiling my socks off xxx

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos  8 месяцев назад

      The idea is that it creates a structure so you don’t need foam - an armature. But that’s also possible, but it makes it the same as a pre-made bridal holder then.

  • @jasminecommerce1457
    @jasminecommerce1457 5 лет назад +1

    It’s so calming to watch you work, and this is stunning! I just wonder if there’s a way to use this technique, but somehow wrap those ends together so they’re not free and sticking out, if a more formal finish is required? Would it risk breaking the stems, as they’re put in at all different angles?

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos  5 лет назад +1

      jasmine commerce I know what you mean - thus style lends itself to keeping the stems. It is possible to bring the stems together and then bind them with ribbon, you just have to bring them together carefully, then tie, then wrap. I tend not to fully wrap though - seeing the stems below the wrapping point looks more natural. Just aim to wrap the bit that is held.

      Yes you could - faux flowers now can be exceptional in quality and thus can be a good solution for out of season flowers or difficult flowers to keep in hot weather perhaps.

    You did a great job for your first attempt. Is that the 4 inch egg or the 8 inch egg? Also, This is a great way to use up leftover flowers. I use plastic ZIP TIES to bind bouquets. This is so easy as you can pull the tie as loose or tight as you want and you don't need to spin the LARGE bouquet in order to tie it. Thanks Again for your videos.

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos  6 лет назад

      Amy Colt I think it was the 8 inch - it was the big one that’s for sure. That’s a great suggestion to use a zip tie or cable tie - very secure! Thanks for watching 🙋🏼‍♂️

    My question is would you put bouquet in water till the event?

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos  5 лет назад +1

      Deirdre Entrup yes, because this is essentially a tied bouquet it can be left in water up to the tying point, then when ready to be boxed can be trimmed and finished - then delivered. So it can be very fresh.
      I leave the stems longer than the finished design so they get a final cut on the day.

    Hello,
    I love this loose, boho, big style without it being heavy. Is there a way to do this arrangement but having the smallest handle possible? Floral foam?

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos  4 года назад +2

      audrey1053 you could use floral foam, but you would probably need the biggest size of holder and then this will have a certain weight also. The floral egg allows the materials to sit nicely apart so you need less yo get a very full effect. The stems then create a counter balance which a big bouquet in foam wouldn’t have. So you would have a handle but the bouquet could be quite front heavy. I think if you can try both and test each option before the day required.

    Sorry for the buzz kill, but I think it's too big. It would obscure and overshadow the dress. I like the concept, just think it would be more beautiful and a compliment to the bride if it were 60% of that size. It's garish in my opinion.

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos  Год назад

      That’s okay - it depends on the bride - there are some really tall ones as well! But yes, this style can be made in any size to suit. This style is the focal point, the dress isn’t the main thing if you carry one like this. 🌼

    What do you do to preserve the bouquet before the wedding? Do you keep them in water?

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos  4 года назад +1

      Stephanie Warren if hand tied or still with stems then yes, put in water up to the tying point. Then place could tanner and bouquets somewhere cool and shady . You could mist with water but lightly, and even gently drape with a very thin plastic film - just to keep material fully hydrated.
      Then just take out, final cut on stems , finish off binding and box, and cover. If they are fully hydrated this is all you can do. 😀🙋🏼‍♂️

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos  5 лет назад

      shannon eaton thank you very much! I honestly don’t know how many stems were used, but I made a handtied version at the weekend, without the egg, and it required a lot more stems to get the volume, and this made it quite heavy. So the egg reduces weight and stem count but gives the volume needed for the look.
