O-M-G!! Can I just say, this video is equivalent to a $1000 flower course! I don't think any flower course would have taught the skills and techniques later out in this video, and it's FREE! Who says nothing is free?! WOW!
WOW- thanks Dion... I'm just delighted that it was helpful- and that you enjoyed it... that's my goal- to make people more comfortable with flowers- and offer a helping hand... THANKS AGAIN for the Kind Words my friend!
Best 30-miute instructional video ever!! Very interesting with awesome results! Whatever you charge for your bouquets you absolutely deserve it!!! Just beautiful!!
Wow, I'm just amazed at this DIY You Tube tutorial. Like, I do a lot of crafts and researching how-to's, but this guy has by far blown my mind with this project and the simplicity of the process and the depth of instruction. Just wow!
I am going to be making my bridal bouquet and have watched many tutorials for technique. Your video and bouquet stole my heart. My mind was blown when you folded over the leaves at the beginning and again when you added the sparkle to the roses, I plan to do that but yours was the first tutorial I have seen where it was actually done so I got to see the practical results!! That bouquet is breathtaking and exactly what I am aiming for!!
I'm so glad this was helpful and valuable to you- my friend... I'm glad you found it informative and educational.... that's what I try to do... make it easy and comfortable... and of course DOABLE!
WOW!! I found this video by accident as I was getting ready to shut down my computer because I was on my way out. I couldn't stop watching! And then when you did that dramatic pause about the stephanotis, I was like, Oh well, sorry, friends, I'm going to be late!! lol I had to sit down and watch every minute. So many amazing tips with the folded leaves and the glitter, and you're such a great teacher. The love of what you do shines through. Thank you, thank you!
Wow- Thanks so much Beth- I appreciate your kind comments- and I'm so glad you enjoyed the video an project tips! - and Thank you for subscribing to my channel... my Friend!
I enjoyed watching you make the beautiful cascade bouquet. I like how you explain why you do what you are about to do and why it's important. I am looking forward to your next video. Thank you
I’m so glad I found this video. I’m about to get married in 5 weeks and this is exactly what I’m looking for to make my bouquets 💕. I’ve learned so much from you and the bouquet holder is such a game changer.
think your work is wonderful, your competition makes everything look very simple and its fabulous arrangements My daughter is getting married and I will do the bouquet she wants pink orchids I live in Brazil and I'm amazed at her work. I make floral arrangements too. How nice to know that there are people like you. A big and affectionate Brazilian hug
I have seen many tutorials but this is the best your work is magnificent well explained every detail, materials you use you are welcome to Latin America I'm your fan number from Japan muchos besos
I'm from Brazil and it's the first time that I'm watching you. How talented you are! This cascate bouquet is unique, gourgeous. I'm searching new techniques for bouquets and love to find your chanel. Congrats.
Wonderful tutorial, easy to follow with great tips. I adore cascading bouquets with Singapore orchids and stephanotis. Using the lily grass is so clever.
Thank you so much Lillian- I'm so delighted that you are enjoying the videos and instruction... Thank you for subscribing to my channel... I appreciate it so much!
Thank you Mia Meow- our viewers like to see the project in real time- and from start to finish... I'm happy to provide all the steps you need... Thanks for the sweet comment!
Hi Joseph... it's the Glue in combination with the flower foam- and cutting the stem at an appropriate angle... those three things- hold the stems in place... it's science... maybe you can give the Glue and Flower Foam another chance...I don't enjoy wiring and taping... so I love this process and always have great success!
I very much enjoy your videos, but here in the UK we don't have the same products available as in the US. I use Oasis holders who supply a lot of products, but I've not seen one with a clear handle like yours. Do you not cover your handles with ribbon?
Thanks for the kind comments... it's true... You don't have the Gala® Bouquet Holder in England... I created it for the FloraCraft Corporation - since Oasis wouldn't listen to my complaints about the holders- they had created... I was the FIRST Oasis Design Director in the USA... and a long time fan of the Oasis Flower Foam... I still LOVE it and USE it Daily... it's amazing... Love the NEW Midnight foam - but back to the holder- I felt the holder should not be JUST Utilitarian - it should also be attractive- so that we didn't need to go to the extra effort- of covering it... or applying ribbon or anything else... the Gala® Bouquet Holder is CLEAR- and it can also be painted with "Oasis Floral Paint"- (It's Design Master here in the USA)... the Just for Flowers Products are Brilliant as they are also transparent- so it's really Beautiful when you use them... I also love the FULL Sphere of Flower Foam inside... it's a 4 Inch Ball- and you can access it from any direction- this bouquet holder - has 360 degrees of insertion possibilities... there was room for so much improvement on the standard bouquet holders we've used for decades... it was time for an update... THANKS for letting me ramble on - I appreciate your kind comment- and the observations from across the pond!
5 years since this video and im on here watching different clips on how to make wedding bouquets for my wedding next month and this has got to be the best one! il be sure to look back at your video for help when i make my own :)
Thank you Juliet... I'm pleased that found the video helpful and useful... Keep me posted and be sure to share a pic of your Bouquet when you make it... to my facebook page... facebook.com/JSchwankeFlowers
Love this video. Watched it a few times having never arranged flowers and then made my own wedding cascade bouquet. Turned out amazing and I owe it to this video.
How wonderful Kathleen... I'm glad the video was helpful.. and that you were pleased... I'm proud of you... and thank you so much for your kind comments... I appreciate it very much!!!
Thank you Deborah... I'm glad you like the Glitter Treatment- I made that video nearly 10 years ago and that look is still very popular... thanks for the kind comments... I appreciate it- and thank you for subscribing to my channel!
Thank you I lost my confidence in my abilities as an ex florist, but you are a natural born teacher. You reminded me of so many things and some new one. I had to laugh when you mentioned the old wiring, as I was taught at college by a old lady and as my junior florist by an old lady. Both used that technique, so that is all I knew. It was very time consuming. Thanks
You are so welcome Brooke- You need to build up your confidence again... it's fun to arrange flowers- and it helps benefit our health and wellness... Thanks for the sweet note... I appreciate it... - and Thank you for subscribing to my channel... my Friend!
Fantastic, thank you so much. I studied floristry on a part time basis a few years ago. I am a bit rusty. My daughter is getting married in two years time so I decided to start practicing her Bouquet. You have helped a lot and made me more enthusiastic to get started. Thank you for all your tips. I will now be watching you other demonstrations.
this is compulsive viewing, i love it!! doing my research for making my own bouquet to save money and keep in with my country garden theme...although i am leaning towards the more showy flowers now! can't change my theme now but i will continue to watch your videos even after my wedding. xx
I wanted to share mh story of how I got into floral design. It will be 25 years this September i lost my 16 yr old daugter to a homicide. To make a long story short I was overwhelmed and traumatized especially from the flowers. Without asking me, after the funeral at the luncheon, the funeral director came to the hall and told everyone to go up to the funeral home and get the flowers out of there. I was asleep on a bench outside tbe hall and when I woke up a family member told me and they had to chase down the flowers. Some were beautiful disb gardens and silk arrangements. To hell me overcome this trauma I was drawn to working with flowers. At first it was silks. I learned the craft and a few hears later my pastor referred me to a shop that needed some help. The designer was a very good and patient teacher but passed away. My pastor came to me and asked me to do some things for him and he was my regular customer. A lot of what I learned was self taught. I did some very elaborate alter arrangements and I worked n the basement of the church. Over the years I did many weddings by myself and I had my son help me until he went in the Marines. My health started to deteriorate with osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia and degenerative disc disease so I had to quit. But I am going to NC in September for my son's wedding and with the grace of God I'll be doing their flowers. I so miss designing and wish I could continue. I'm very creative in other areas but I became passionate about floral design. Thank you for sharing your craft, you are amazing.
Dear Jay Your Cascade Bouquet is very beautiful, mixing conventional and contemporary methods and loved the way you used the stephanotis in long grass! Excellent techniques with presented with lovely personality! Pushpa
Simply awesome! Your explanation and step by step direction is very easy to understand as you take us through each step. You're very talented. Thank you
Thank you so much for such a wonderful example. You made it look so easy. My daughter wants me to do the wedding flowers for her so this video has really helped me. I have only used artificial flowers before so fresh flowers are a real challenge. I am going to check for all the goods locally as soon as I can!!!! Thank you
I do floral arrangements at work and on the side. I absolutely love your videos! anytime I have a cascade bouquet (no matter the length) I always reference this video for a breath of fresh air. I wish I could share a photo on here to show what I have created! You're amazing and I appreciate you so much!
nk you so much for the wonderful message Lynda... you can share any photos with me at J@ubloom.com or on the uBloom Facebook Page... if you would like as well... Thank you again for the sweet comments... I'm glad that you find the video helpful... and encouraging! Have a flower filled day!
Great Suggestion Kara... but here's the rub- these videos were created over a decade ago- so some items are no longer valid... if you are looking for the Gala Bouquet Holder- here's a link- www.uBloom.com/BuyGala - if you are looking for the halogen glitter or tack 2000- they are available at local craft stores... if there is something specific you are looking for... just put it in your comment- and I can help you find it... we have over 1800+ Videos- so originally there weren't websites and such that offered them... so going back and adding or updating links would be costly and cumbersome... I'm always happy to help ... just wanted you to know the backstory! Have a Flower Filled Day!
@@LifeinBloom So kind of you to explain! Wow! Your designs are still so relevant that it’s hard to believe they were created that long ago. I have learned some cool tricks from you🙂 Thanks for the info! I appreciate it!
Hey there! I really love this video, but I was wondering if you had thought of putting a straight forward list of the materials used in the video description?
What is the diameter of the bouquet holder you are using? The one I have is approx 4” in diameter, and it just seems too small, yet I was told it was the largest available through Oasis. If the one you are using is larger, where did you get it? Thank you for your help.
Hi Lisa... Yes... I created the Gala Bouquet Holder- because I did not like the Oasis Holders- I wanted a bouquet that could be entered from any side- that is why it is a round sphere- with large design ports in all sides... the Gala comes in 2 sizes- with a 3 inch sphere inside one and 4 inch sphere inside the other... you can order gala here- www.uBloom.com/BuyGala I hope this information is helpful... thank you so much for the comment and asking the questions!
My daughter just wants baby's breath, daisies, a little bit of greenery and a little pop of wine color in a cascading bouquet. I wish she would reconsider. This looks amazing.
This is the best flower video I have ever seen on here, its amazing and beautiful and you make it look so easy. I will be following all your videos now, you are an inspiration Thankyou somuch xxx
Jay ,I live in Maryland and My daughter has a non profit called Drink At The Well in Baltimore helping to equip women to live above life's challenges. It has been a real blessing to the clients and to us who volunteer there. Here's my problem. we are having our very first Fundraising gala this October with little or no budget. The other person and I doing the centerpieces may have to pay for them out of our own pocket but we want it to look nice. Can you suggest a way that we could incorporate flowers without spending a lot?Thank you!
Shared on Google+ How to Arrange Flowers - A Cascading Wedding Bougquet ! ( 11 29 2015 ) +J Schwanke thank you so much for this arrangement. Some of my friends never took a course and they showed me your video and am very amazed what they learned from you. God Bless you, and take care, forevermore, Anika.
What a wonderful video...thank you! I had stephanotis once that 'dried' out in a bouquet and looked awful. How do you keep it from not drying out? Thank you. GORGEOUS bouquet!!!
+Jean Tovern Typically it's caused by using Steph Stems... a product made to assimilate the flower to the bouquet... I DO NOT remove the calyx... and I glue it into the bouquet.. my other secret trick is using Stephanotis from Eufloria Flowers... (www.EufloriaFlowers.com)... they grow some of the Best Steph on the planet... and I find that gluing the steph into the bouquet with Cold Oasis Adhesive (or rubber cement)... provides the best result... I do hope this is helpful... thanks for the kind comments... I appreciate it! Wishing the BEST!
sir,,you're terrible awesome..i just love the way you express the cascade bouquet...even I consider myself a pro but i love to learn still...I'm a slave of flower designing....
WOW!!!! I am so impressed! I would love to have this exact bouquet! You are amazing!! I am going to be marrying abroad in a Mediterranean country so wld not be able to do this. but I hope I can use perm flowers and create something similar.. I have never made a bouquet/flower arranged in my life so wish me luck! Wow! I wish you cld do my bouquet! Thanks for sharing ur fab talent!
I'm making this for my wedding next Friday! And I bought 12 small gala bouquet holders for my 11 bridesmaids!! Question: I know that we float soak the holders for a few minutes... I am planning to have the flower arranging party the day before the wedding. I bought Chrysal professional glory... They should last until the next day right? We have a refridgerator in the garage. Should I store the arrangements in there overnight? Not too cold? SHould I store them upside down, right side up, or is it ok to lay them on their sides? Do I need to get more fluids in the foam later on? THANK YOU!!!!
Thanks for making this video. I have been growing some dusty miller, succulents, Claire Austin, Geoff Hamilton, hydrangeas, and wisteria to make my own bridal bouquet. I was nervous about how to put it together on a similar cascading fashion, but knowing about these holders seems like it will make it a lot easier.
Thanks for the kind comments Ashton... The Gala bouquet holder will be a great solution for your cascade style bouquet... wishing you the very best... I do suggest giving it a "Practice run" with other flowers before the big day... just to make sure that everything goes well... and that you feel super confident for the BIG DAY! Have a flower filled day!
Sooo Beautiful!!! Thank you so much J for sharing! you did an amazing job!!! Im sure doing all this takes years of experience and dedication :) You make it look so easy to make that it hurts! :)

Stunning but what stops the cascade from falling out of the bottom. I'm old school and still
wire and tape . Im not comfortable with oasis and glue

Wonderful! Such clear, step by step instructions. Very inspiring, thank you.
Amazing! I love flowers and I love your work! You are the best!
My daughter just wants baby's breath, daisies, a little bit of greenery and a little pop of wine color in a cascading bouquet. I wish she would reconsider. This looks amazing.
Very beautiful bouquet!!. Love the glitter idea! 💕

Sorry, one more question: how long did you soak the holder? I did a bouquet holder with a thinner handle (just for display), it was SO heavy!
I absolutely love your video's. You are very good with creating bouquets.

Wonderful! You and your flower arrangement really make me smile!
Absolutely GORGEOUS!!!

Hi , I am a florist from Trinidad and I learn so much from you!
Thank you Berna!
