These guys are great!! I had the good fortune of managing the late tap and eccentric dancer, Charles “Cookie” Cook. He loved them and hired them for his dance shows whenever he could.

They billed themselves as "Moke & Poke" when performing this routine. I had an opportunity to ask Chazz who was who, and he said they had never decided.

Frankie Manning's day job was a Postal Clerk in NYC.

So was Chazz's. I took a tap class he taught for adults in an after-school program at a private school in NYC in the late '70s. I thought it was sad that he was so accomplished yet had to make his living working for the post office. He seemed to be very frustrated teaching little kids and beginning adults. I was pleased that he was able to benefit from the resurgence of interest in the Lindy Hop.

Different styling/Dynamics - not sure if I'd say one is better than the other. They each interpreted the dance differently. That's the beauty of the dance to me! :)

      I prefer Frankie Manning's subtleties.

I wouldn't say better. But besides being younger, he grew up dancing in a different era, which had a different style. He also attended the New York School for the Performing Arts, where he probably was exposed to other forms of dance, as well. And then there's his build, which is more compact. I think he looks more like a 50s-style jazz dancer. They're both excellent.
