    Love it. Random question. I know some of you have had painted bells in the past, what type of paint did you use?

    • @GenghisBarbie
      @GenghisBarbie  10 лет назад +4

      The bells were made for us by Martin Ecker, who also built our Dieter Otto horns (bit.ly/1zUyYyp). He used a thin layer of automotive paint in place of the normal clear lacquer you see on many horns. We definitely recommend having a professional do any of that type of horn modification! And we still love/play on the colored bells as well :)

      Awesome! I'm just trying to find a solution to fix me reacting so bad to my unlaquered horn. I'm allergic to the metal but I love the horn too much to get a different horn. Thanks for letting me know. I'm going to look into that

    • @GenghisBarbie
      @GenghisBarbie  10 лет назад +2

      FhornPatrick We've also heard that clear nail polish will work for those with metal allergies! Good luck!

    (but, now that I'm practicing the parts, can't help but notice that the Velvet Barbie seems to be using B-flat fingerings on her single F-horn near the end :-)

    What are those things on their rotor caps?

    • @GenghisBarbie
      @GenghisBarbie  8 лет назад

      Hi! They are special Genghis Barbie edition rotor caps! Engraved with our "GB" logo 👍🏼

    • @jonathanbartling7342
      @jonathanbartling7342 8 лет назад

      Oh, okay! Do they help better the tone, as many special rotor caps add mass and therefore are thought to help the tone?

    • @GenghisBarbie
      @GenghisBarbie  8 лет назад

      +Jonathan Bartling actually, we had them made this way purely for design, but much like the heavy painted bells, we liked the way they sounded and kept them!

    Why aren't there more views?! New video I suppose. I'm sure the views will come. I wish you all the best. I also think that all of you are beautiful women. The fact you are musical makes it even better. However, I must say, my crush is on Rachel Drehmann. How tall are you Rachel? I'm 6' 2".

      Rachel seems to have hidden her feet in every shot on the bed...boo! All the others are pretty. I suspect Rachel's are too.

  • @13blackg
    @13blackg 7 лет назад

    I always find it interesting I see so many you tube artist use horns with the 2 piece bell, in my personal experience it messes with the sound especially the resonance with low notes but perhaps that was due to the quality of horns I'd tested. have you or anyone else on here found that to be the same or are there some that don't mess with the sound. personally I use a 45 year old conn double horn

    • @hanwenn
      @hanwenn 7 лет назад +1

      Most professional hornplayers that I know have detachable bells. I'm not a pro, but have a detachable bell too, and I have plenty resonance on my lows.
