Think now somebody from thousands of miles away watched your hole video and enjoyed of seeing your amazing work and learnt alot. Thanks for sharing, From north of Iran
Girl I've started thinking there's nothing you can't do!! I've been watching a marathon of your new shop build and I'm really impressed. Watching your gate builds now. I really enjoy your presntations.... keep it up and God Bless.
I was "plum tickled" to watch you use the belt sander while bonging to whatever music you were jamming with. Great job April. Your gate is a very creative work of art.
April, both gates turned out very nice. I think what I enjoy the most about your stuff is that you always seem to be having fun while building! Keep up the good work!
Your creativity knows no bounds, April. This is one of your best yet! Love the gate, and I can only imagine how many hours of labor it took. It was totally worth it - unique, one-of-a-kind and fabulous! Great job, April!
Thanks April! You gave me a good project for my shop that really, really needs to get done. I've been procrastinating with this because I didn't know what or how to get started. Now I do!
One thing I love about cedar is its outdoor resistance to rot/bugs and the fact that the wood comes naturally in light to dark tones, which allows you to build something with natural contrasts. Great job April!
That Is By Far One Of The Coolest Gates That I've Ever Seen !!!! You Will never cease to amaze me and I'm sure many others that watch you build such unique pieces. So much loved watching you dance to the beat of your own drum while doing such tedious sanding, too.
I had my reservations about mixing wood and metal with the bowties but showing how you supported them in the back was something i hadn't even thought of...good job!!
I love seeing the joy you have doing these projects Your creativity and skill set keeps skyrocketing. Very enjoyable to watch you succeed and enjoy doing it.
The bow-tie attachment method you came up with is genius! I think you are right, having the ability to easily maintain them in the future is bound to be useful.
April, first of all, love your work. I have already built your assembly table and then made a "Mini Me" version for my lathe table. But as a physician I would like to see you use a dust mask when routing or sanding cedar or any wood for that matter. You are such an inspiration to many of us, including myself, and I don't want anything to happen to you!
All most think you knew what you were doing!!! Ahsome project April, I enjoyed watching both gates take shape. I am sure they will bring back fond memories each time you approach them. Thanks for sharing. From Elliot Lake Ontario Canada.
Very nice work, it has been a pleasure to watch the progression of your skills. You are a true craftsperson and inspiration. Keep up the awesome content. Well done.
A+ for drilling weep holes in the bottom channel! Very early on I thought, even though you appear to live in an arid area, water’s going to gather down there and that bottom board is gonna fail first. A+10 bonus points for adding the nuts as spacers! (I learned about this recently while building a box for my truck bed out of the plywood box a sink came in: I realized I had some square electrical conduit that fit right in the channels of my truck bed to elevate it off the surface, and the friend who let me borrow his angle grinder suggested drilling some holes in the box just in case. So far, so dry, and for the lid I joined three scrap pieces of OSB - didn’t think biscuits would be of much use, so just made a frame, painted everything with a can of “wrong tint” $5 return gallon of navy grey paint, then used spray adhesive to stick thick mm plastic sheeting on top. Now that’s it’s been hot out, the plastic has become wrinkly, but it was never for aesthetics. “Splitting” is surely the most common term used for wood defects and cause for a bow tie, but there’s also “checking” and “shakes,” all of which occur along the lignin length, so your large split, while beautiful, would be pretty uncommon in shape, love the design idea - you’re right: it’s like a secret woodworkers code to recognize what those hourglass-like “things” are! Good job!!! “Wood, ya best stop “checking” yourself before the whole neighborhood seen you done wreck yourself” 🤓
Love the gate. I love, love, love your shop and all your toys...every girls dream.the video was awesome, straight to the point with no lag time and the right amount of silly. Can’t wait to see what is next.
April I just started following you but I can't even come up with the words to describe how amazing you are! You totally remind me of my kid sis, redhead and all. Keep on keeping on!!
Very cool gates. Love how you can imagine that and build it . Very talented lady. Very jealous of your shop 😎👍 Just a helpful idea for your clamps. I buy the pipe clamps that screw onto regular pipe threads. Then I use 4 foot sections of pipe for the basic length. But I leave them threaded on the opposite ends. That way I can pull off the backstop end and using a coupling I can add however much length to the clamps I need. So in theory they can be infinitely long as long as you have lengths of pipe and couplings. I keep a bunch of lengths of the correct size pipe together with the clamps for just this need. Thanks for another great video. Keep up the good work. 👍
This gate build is the most enjoyable project i have seen you build. Hope the detail video on hanging it will include swinging it open. You have to show how it works! Good job.
You are amazing! I am real impressed. You have given me ideas and you will be watched many times in the future. I have my friends (lath turners) watching you too and they were surprised. Now you have a bunch of new fans.
That's a incredible job! I did like so bad than decide to do my own gate too. My property not have one yet, but you gave me a great Idea!!! Tanks a Lot!!! Free friendship from Brazil!
Bow tie, Butterfly or Dutchman it’s art, if I had created this beautiful piece I would get a wood burning iron and sign my name in the bottom corner. Again Just beautiful!!!!!
I LOVE the way you attached the bow 👔. Like you said, it's adjustable and you can see how the wood or gate reacts over time and adjust if needed. Very custom, so it's hard to tell how things warp. Love it!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Love the rolling transition at 4:00 - that's professional videography! What a pleasure to see how much joy you take (and express so clearly) from these projects. Congratulations to you both!
That was a lots ofd labor but came out really aswome, I assume you did all by your self, because don't see anyone's else helping. EXTREMELY HAPPY FOR A HARD WORKING GIRL LIKE YOU AND ALL OUT THERE TOO.. love it very much.
Not to take away from your amazing woodworking skills but you have the prettiest smile. You’re one person I look up to because I am also a female wanting to do woodworking and I feel you’re a great influence on young girl who want to take on a more male dominated hobby/job
Really good look, very unique! My wife and I find our most fun projects and rewarding ones are those that we do together, from machines to fixing our old wood house.
April, both of the gates are outstanding! Good work and tremendous creativity. BTW, I don't think that I've heard anyone say "Plum Tickled" since I left East Texas in 1970. I was plum tickled to hear it. Keep up the great work.
April-I think I see a paint booth project in your future! You could create a portable one and get some good spray equipment...would make it easier to paint some of your projects with a good durable finish. They actually make large temporary paint booths for painting cars...you could set up in your shop for large projects like this. Just an idea....always love to see you try a new discipline or trade. I know you're not afraid to jump in to something new. Thanks!
Your giggle is awesome and reminds me of another great woodworker Nick Offerman. A video of the two of you would probably be so epic you would break the RUclips :)
Love the gate. I even with the missteps it turned out absolutely amazing. Love the Bowties. Unique and represents the idea that it's the gateway to a woodworkers shop. See you next week.
April you are a master craftsperson !! You never seem to amaze me !! You’re a pro ...you make it look so easy !! Awesome job on your metal gate !! 👏✌️👏👍
Hello April I am a fan of your beautiful works and hope that you will have a beautiful and clean workshop like your workshop Stay in this beautiful work to benefit from you Greetings from Iraq Bashar

You sooooo need a shop table. My back hurts just watching. Excellent creativity April
Oh my goodness, that is not just a gate, that is a work of art! Beautiful.
: ) Thank you very much, I love it.
What did you use on the lumber for the sun not yo eat it up?
Girl I've started thinking there's nothing you can't do!! I've been watching a marathon of your new shop build and I'm really impressed. Watching your gate builds now. I really enjoy your presntations.... keep it up and God Bless.

Dancing makes sanding more fun. : ) Thank goodness for IsoTunes.
April, both gates turned out very nice. I think what I enjoy the most about your stuff is that you always seem to be having fun while building! Keep up the good work!
I always enjoy seeing the more detailed video after following the progress through IG, I delight in your joy as you're building
Your creativity knows no bounds, April. This is one of your best yet! Love the gate, and I can only imagine how many hours of labor it took. It was totally worth it - unique, one-of-a-kind and fabulous! Great job, April!
That is, by far, the coolest gate I've ever seen.
Thanks April! You gave me a good project for my shop that really, really needs to get done. I've been procrastinating with this because I didn't know what or how to get started. Now I do!
Glad it was helpful!
Bopping while sanding! It's nice to see that I'm not the only one!
I just love individuality. Wonderful piece of work.
Wood metal fusion on a formidable scale calls for diverse skills and plenty of control to produce such an object of striking interest
The "walking from metal shop to wood shop" tracking shot is really awesome! Definitely a clear "level up" in your film making skills. Well done!
One thing I love about cedar is its outdoor resistance to rot/bugs and the fact that the wood comes naturally in light to dark tones, which allows you to build something with natural contrasts. Great job April!
Wow, you are amazing !!! I think very few women have the courage you have, congratulations !!!
That Is By Far One Of The Coolest Gates That I've Ever Seen !!!! You Will never cease to amaze me and I'm sure many others that watch you build such unique pieces. So much loved watching you dance to the beat of your own drum while doing such tedious sanding, too.
I think anyone that has a gate would be proud if this one could be theirs. GREAT job!!!
Texans do have big fancy beautiful gates and April, this one is no exception. Nice design, concept and manufacture.
That gate just screams, "WOODWORKER"!!! Awesome Job April! Cool video to watch too!
I had my reservations about mixing wood and metal with the bowties but showing how you supported them in the back was something i hadn't even thought of...good job!!
: ) Thank you very much
Your video gave me the guts to attempt making the gate I've been wanting to make for such a long time. Thank you for sharing.
: ) Thank you
You need to make a overhead chain fall on your metal side to lift and move around all the big stuff you work with.
I enjoy all your videos Thanks.
The shop will evolve over time. I think first I need a workbench. : )
April Wilkerson definitely look at a moveable I beam gantry set up for the metal side of the shop.
Dang that gate turned out amazing! I think you should give him/her a name...😁

: ) Thank you very much Mike. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Very nice work, it has been a pleasure to watch the progression of your skills. You are a true craftsperson and inspiration. Keep up the awesome content. Well done.
There’s no one who has a gate like that! Imaginative and well executed.
Very good design. Congratulations on the project.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
That has GOT to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen! That gate is just amazing! Love the process and how it turned out, April!
Beautifully done. Very cool original design, and a great explanation of the process. Thanks
