There'll never be another Doris Day. Talented, beautiful, stylish and a heart of pure gold. Her passing a few days ago has left me deeply saddened as if I've lost a dear friend. I also feel kind of angry that her enormous talent and longevity in show business was never acknowledged with an Academy Award. Rest in paradise, beautiful lady. 💖
I don't even know how to express my sadness at her dying. She was my life as a child. That's all I say. She was a respectful, sweet, powerful, considerate person who gave her life for just causes. I love her. I fell in love with her when I was 4 years old and I will never not love her. Be well, angel.
What wonderful words. I checked on Doris via internet with a certain frequency, and every time I was relieved that she was still with us...at her age! ...I got back from work and was listening to BBC radio London ...as soon as they told her name I knew what news was coming....
yes, the age where women were forced to take sleeping pills and drugs to appease the industry, Black people were discriminated against and stereotyped in movies, and where people were having affairs left and right which led to many people having depression and worse. Ok, sure it's SO sad that era is nonexistent.
I love this lady. I love her movies. I love her voice. I love the material she chose to record. I even love her television show. I love how she is an animal rights activist. And finally, I love the way she acted with dignity at the time of Rock Hudson's passing...

I think the more talented a person is like Doris Day the less they understand their impact on the rest of us. Her lack of conceit is refreshing and she truly is a sweet woman. I grew up watching her movies - Doris you are an icon.
Happy, happy 90th birthday to the fabulous Miss Doris Day! There's no one like Doris Day and never will be. Lucky Us, Lucky We, Lucky Me!!! xo to your Miss Day!!! We adore you amazing wonderfulness!!!

She was still only 67 years old here in 1989 and still gorgeous looking. Now gone but forever remembered as a great actress, world class singer and beloved human being.
Just overwhelming emotion at knowing she is gone now and a true loss her passing is! She was so beautiful, humble and gracious! She was simply radiant from the inside out! She knew the One from which her blessings and talent came! Thank you, Doris Day, for sharing your beauty, your smile, your warmth, your God given talents with us in each of your movies and recordings! RIP, Doris Day!
I remember gossips rags calling Doris a recluse long before she appeared here to be honoured in 1989. Doris has lived in beautiful Carmel CA for many years now and keeps in regular contact with friends like Angie Dickinson James Garner (prior to his passing) Tony Bennett and many others. Doris is obviously happy and healthy at 90 plus doing what makes her very happy with her 'four-leggers' and fund raising for her many charities named for her.
DORIS THEY JUST DON'T MAKE THEM LIKE YOU ANYMORE I HAVE LOVED YOU SINCE I WAS A YOUNG BOY YOU ARE STILL A CLASS ACT AS BOB HOPE WOULD SING 'THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES '!!!!!
I know there will never be another Jimmy Stewart, James Garner, Robert Taylor, Spencer Tracy, Robert Young. Bob Mitchum, Clark Gable, Bill Holden, David Niven. I don't need to name them all. As for the women - Betty Davis, Greer Garson, Joan Crawford, Rosalind Russell. Thank heaven they are on film so we can see them forever. I know Doris Day is still with us - love her, too! They all had class. Can't say that for the present lot.
She looks so beautiful and I am proud to have donated to her foudnation to help animals and she sent me an 8x10 autographed photograph. Clint was so amazing in introducing her. I bet it would have been a great film if they had worked together. She has always been such a dignified Lady on screen and in real life. a living legend. I miss seeing her on TV or in movies. They dont make them like her anymore. God Bless You Miss Doris Day!
What a truly beautiful woman Doris was. She was a national treasure. Her movies were warm, classy, entertaining, and a true respite from our weary world. I still relish taking in a Doris Day movie because she never made a bad one. RIP dear Doris, we miss you so and we will forever be grateful for your presence on our earth. God took in another angel. BTW the beautiful white costume Doris is wearing for the awards is now being auctioned along with her other clothes on line in the coming weeks. It's awesome seeing her wearing it and looking so dazzling on that stage. A REAL Movie STAR.
A wonderful woman and a great Hollywood star. She is much missed. She has left us with an incredible volume of her work as an actress, a singer with incredible style and remembrance of a warm and caring person. God bless....
Adore her. As always, Doris - in any interview or speech - gives a masterclass in what it means to be a true Human Being. She is gracious, strong, and gorgeous inside and out. Look and learn, people.
Doris Day is such a talented entertainer. Her voice is one of a kind, and she was one of the best comedic actresses in her time. Her movies were fun, charming, full of laughs, and always made you feel good inside. I have such great respect for her Animal League and the work she does on the behalf of animals and the awareness she has brought to their needs. Her just released CD, "My Heart" is wonderful -- listen to her version of Bruce Johnston's "Disney Girls". It doesn't get much better.
