    When showboating is taken to the next level.
    These South African Soccer skills are worth watching!
    Kasi Flava is indigenous to South African football. It is a set of outrageous skills or tricks displayed in an attempt to entertain fans and humiliate opponents. Kasi Flava takes extreme showboating and insane tricks or skills to a whole different level. Kasi Flava means Location/Township Flavor, it is basically tricks you usually see from Street footballers , ball jugglers or Freestyle footballers, the difference is that in South Africa you get a breed of players who pull of this tricks in a Professional game.
    The following video consists of South African football skills performed in the PSL by players from the past and present

      Anyone can do that it does not increase chances of scoring ect. It's just showing off wasting the games time no wonder south African football is so terrible
      I live there and watch European football and don't give a danm about our local football
      What i always here is pathatic
      They have more talent than south America and europe
      It's just the horrible management
      Excuses if that was true it would be official
      There aren't even proof
      Everyone have equal amount of talent and it never ends
      Messi can get even better than he is now
      The lack of good management is the reason why they suck
      Europe good management is why they are so dominant over countries outside south America and Europe
      Just in general they can lose but that's not too often
      Like in 2018 world cup south korea shock germany
      Use italy as an example
      They went from unqualified to European champions
      I know they still need to qualify for the world cup
      But they had a lot of injuries
      Italy national team agreed injuries is no excuse
      But italy are favors to beat north Macedonia
      And then Turkey/Portugal

    I don't understand why people are critisising our own style of play and always make everything about matching up to the Europeans way of doing things. This is supposed to be our football heritage that we pride ourselves with. It's our culture, it's our style and we do it like no other.

There's a good reason why Europe overtook even South America.

    Boet, South Africa can compete with the best in world. Our problem is that the European coaches we brought in to coach our teams, changed our football. The Brazilian team always conquered the world when they played the samba way. If we can revert to how we played football then we will see results. Brazilians were allowed to bring street football to the field. We should do the same. Pitso allowed his players to express themselves and Sundowns transformed. That dud called Zwane showed why Pitso fought for his signature.

And that's the problem for me, South African football is trying to create its identity based off of European Football but it's just not working out. The tactics are below par, the playing style doesn't flow well, the players don't particularly excel in that footballing environment. The best evidence is when our local players get bought by European Teams and they either end up returning home or they jump from team to team.. they never really settle or make their way up to better teams once they get to Europe. This represents South African football incredibly well. Note how non of these "skills" helped the player get past an opponent. Note how majority of these "skills" were used when an opponent was not even near the player. South Africa has incredibly talented footballers but they want to play street ball on a full field pitch. Is this a coaching issue or a player mentality issue. Eg Brazilian non professional players can do these skills and more with ease but are not good enough to play for a club, you do one unchallenged step over in the PLS and you make the highlight reel for a month. I am South African and just want to see our players reach their full potential and fly our flag up high but they would rather get down on their knees and whisper Amapiano to the ball LOL

    • @Terrorvilla
      @Terrorvilla 2 года назад +2

      I think the aim is to not always pass an opponent but to take them out of the game using showboarding. I dare anyone to tackle someone who showboards and even on beach football or indoor football we see this a lot that it isn't easy. Instead it is frustrating to tackle or approach someone who plays like this. That's the aim, frustrate your opponent and get away with their focus.

    • @Mike-uz7qh
      @Mike-uz7qh 2 года назад +3

      @@Terrorvilla i get you. The frustration is real having been on the reciving side of it. Indoor and futsal it works a charm but Its full field football though, one body check or slide tackle and the shithousery stops. Turns into a contact sport and now your team has an injury that the ref doesnt care about..
      If your team is loosing and they start doing that are you going to cheer them on thinking yes lets frustrate them. We one goal down i think you should run to the corner and do that thing with your tummy on the ball.

      @@Mike-uz7qhits not as simple as you try to make it sound. A "simple bodycheck or slide tackle" could actually embarrass and cost the defender more than the dribbler. This elitist myth mindset that "the ball can only be lost while showboating" needs to leave south africa quick. It gets lost doing the basic things as well so does that mean we must play with our hands only? Forcing people to be perfect is what makes short careers cuz now they have to play like its a constant job.
