This has been really hard to make & to post, I wanted to do this last year after my mum died from Cancer and just couldn’t, It made me realise that if I didn’t have the outlet to go for a surf I would be beyond help.
A friend going through similar suggested that I make this for myself, a way to just express how I felt and he had found that really helpful, so I did.
The reason I wanted to share this isn’t for anything other than this, if 1 person can take my experience and realise what surfing can do for the mind then it was worth the heartache of me having to watch this back.
Special K (Karen) had surgery yesterday and everything is looking good, she’s feeling sore, tired and probably a little lost but this is the biggest step passed and now the road is recovery.
She has the most incredible family and support around her and I’m absolutely devoted to being with her & I know that feeling is reciprocated.
I will of course have my own struggles and battles in my head, for that I will surf and that’s how I cope.
Thanks to everyone who has been there for me and for us, but a special thanks to Johnny Holt From Bolton who has gone above and beyond and will never know how much he’s done for me over the past year or so (even if he’s sh*t at throwing axe’s 🪓) thanks bro.

Much love and respect Mitch. Surfing has always been an outlet for me. I love simply floating out back and thinking out not much else. It is genuinely hard to talk when you are in a dark space. It is so easy to talk about it when you're not. If you ever need to chat, hit me up. I am so sorry for what you and your family have to go through.
