    Louis and Claudia here are still learning and guessing the vampire lore as well because Lestat didn't tell them anything, so we're basically learning along with them.
    I won't spoil much, but basically for Anne Rice's vampires keep being alive for centuries is a very hard thing. It burdens their minds because of the loneliness, having to reconcile with the changing times, and all the memories they have to remember. That's why many go mad, kill themselves, go to "sleep" or get killed by other vampires.

  • @cullenarthur8879
    @cullenarthur8879 4 месяца назад +21

    The revenant vampires were in the books as well. They were vampires that were more like zombies. They were mindless and nothing like the other vampires we know up to this point. Morgan was asking Louis if he was a "red", or a communist. He thought Louis was either an American deserter from the military or an American Communist who wanted to defect to Soviet Russia.
    No, the part about the blood being bad because of the pervasive sadness was not in the book. That was added for the show, but it sounds like something that would be consistent with the books.

      The only explanation [the books' author ]Anne Rice ever gave for why some vampires turn out like revenants instead of like normal vampires is that, somehow, they just weren't made correctly. As far as I am aware. Exactly how or why not is left entirely open to audience speculation-although because of the fact that Claudia was unable to create any new vampires herself(as was briefly touched on in season 1) in the books specifically because of her body being so small and simply not containing enough vampire blood overall or such to ever actually transform anyone else(although in the books this was because she was literally only 5 or 6 years old ..so I'm not sure if it would've still held true or not[ in the books] if she had actually been 14 like she is in the tv series, since there are other vampires in the books who were transformed while in the 12 to 17 age range but I don't off the top of my head currently recall if any of those 12 to 14 year olds made vampires in the books had ever made any other fledglings themselves or not ... however, seeing as Claudia isn't the only vampire whose age of transformation has been raised for the tv series from what it was in the books[ as Armand in the books was only 17 years old when he was transformed but in the tv series he was a little older than that] ..they've probably just increased the age at which a body is still too small to make another vampire successfully for the tv series in general, which is fine) it is possible that perhaps revenants might happen if someone receives enough blood to begin to transform them into vampires yet not enough blood to actually get the job done completely/properly.....but that's just my own personal best guess. 🙂💖 Lol

    I’m pretty certain that when Louis said, “If you were the last vampire on earth, it would be enough…you and me…me and you…you and me…me and you…you and me,” he was actually talking to Lestat. As for werewolves, Anne Rice did write two novels on them: The Wolf Gift and The Wolves of Midwinter. While characters had say they exist with the vampires, witches, mummies, Jesus, and horny spirits, Anne never wrote a crossover before she passed. But some fans consider it as a massive side section of her work.

    They can try to force that Louis/Armand romance on me, as well as the idea from the books that it's normal for vampires to switch between companions because otherwise it would get boring pretty quick (by vampire standards). But I will always be a Louis/Lestat fan, no matter how toxic they were to each other.

    Honestly.... I believe the crazy old vampire lady in Romania did what she did in the end after tasting Claudia's blood deliberately to take away the one and only thing that really mattered to Claudia as much as the old vampire lady's decrepit revenant fledgling had mattered to the old vampire lady. (Daciana? was it??)
    But ..that's just my own theory. Lol I don't think anyone else has ever actually stated that this was really the case.😊😂😂💖💖💖
    That's just what it seemed like to me, like she really wanted to hurt Claudia back because Claudia had hurt her but at that point Claudia and Louis still hadn't made up with each other enough yet that losing Louis would've hurt her as much as losing the idea of all her hopes and dreams for finding other vampires to connect with instead of Louis .. but then, somehow, it kinda backfired and ultimately just brought Louis and Claudia even closer together again, at least for a time.
    But maybe I'm guessing off! 🤷🤷‍♀️🤷🏻‍♂️ idekk!!! 😆😁😁

    The most interesting part of the story for me personally is that everyone is an unreliable narrator. We're not sure if what Claudia wrote is the truth, if what Armand or Louis says is the truth, and we never see Lestat's perspective as he's being talked about through the lens of others.

    Mayfair the show is bad even ad a stand alone, but it's horrible as an adaptation. They mess up Rowan, the main characters personality and add in unneeded sexism. They made Rowan so weak compared to her in the books and the other main chatacter.... they picked the wrong actor to play him. He is not what people imagine when they think of Lasher. It was disappointing on every level. I've read all the Mayfair books and all the vampire chronicles books, so I understand I'm biased. But again even as a stand alone show, Mayfair is not good.
