OMG! Lucky Luke! That just brought back a ton of memories. As an Anglophone 6 yr old, who moved to Northern Ontario that was Francophone…I learned to read French on his comic books (hard covers of his strips) we had in the library! Thanks Troy! Awesome paint lesson and even better walk down memory lane! Cheers 🍻
I'm stunned, i will buy the minature and paint it like this. Recently i'm whatching Lucky Luke with my two year old dauther over and over again, she loves it. thank you for this great Guide 😁😁😁
An interesting tutorial. All the while I was like "he will use gloss varnish to make it brighter" but then the further you painted the lighter and brighter the colours looked 🤯 Amazing to see
It looks amazing! I loved reading the Sheriff Fortuna comics as a kid! Recently found a mini that looks like Terrence Hill from the classic movie My Name Is Nobody. I REALLY want these two and that Terrence Hill mini in my collection. If interested, I can check out what the mini is actually called.
These are two of my favorite miniatures you've painted!!! I too had backed the 3D Breed JOD Kickstarter... It's great to see how you can take a small pallet of paint with a few highlight colors and get great results. YOU SHOULD DO MORE OF 3D BREED's stuff!!! :) Thanks for sharing! - Tom
The minis turned out great. REALLY like how the horse came out. I think the contrast paints worked well for the aesthetic you were going for. Really reminds me of the old school method of four color printing they used for many older comics (Dick Tracy instantly pops into my head, as does Archie comics and old DC and Marvel). Goes great with the animation style of the sculpt.
It confuses me a little, since it's really just 'add an agitator and a tiny touch of medium to the pot' but I've never had any issues with Corax White past that point. Still, I guess that's why they've retired the spray!
Awesome paint job it’s funny lol I’m just washing these miniatures and deputies while I watch this lol my kid wants me to paint a ton of these miniatures for pics for his store he has one of the licenses.
Masterful application of the contrast paints. I’m still struggling to get the finish I see in your videos (or in my head) but learning each time I have a go with them. Even got a vortex mixer and that was a massive help for these paints!
Also if I don't like western, these minis are really Amazing, the way you use the new contrast Paints is incredibile, pratically with them you need only some highlights and the job is done. Expecially the yellow shirt is very nice, and the horse has a perfect shade .
It's honestly just a coat of goop and a drybrush; I've covered it in a couple videos previously, it's really so simple it's not much worth the inclusion most of the time. 😅
Despite my local library as a kid having a substantial collection of classic US and European comics, as well as manga, I'd never heard of Lucky Luke before today. Which is a massive shame, as I reckon this would have slotted nicely in with the TinTin & Asterix comics I enjoyed so much as a nipper
I didn't come to Asterix until way too late as a kid, either. Lucky Luke's another relatively recent discovery, but don't tell the Germans you don't know who he is!
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio Lucky Luke is a series of Belgian humorous western comics created by the Belgian cartoonist Morris in the Almanach 1947, a special issue of the newspaper Spirou published in 1946. Thanks for the great video 😃😍
The files have only just been distributed to Kickstarter backers, so they might not yet be available for general sale. Keep an eye out, 3DBreed are usually pretty good about getting their stuff up after a successful launch.
Thank you , Troy .
🐺
They look great! The Ultramarines Blue does a good job of replicating a denim color. Thanks for sharing this.

I know you were talking the whole time. But all i heard was "einsamer Cowboy bist so weit weit von zu Haus...."
Very well done Sir.
Another fantastic video! Thanks!

Never heard of this fellow, but a great showcase on how nice contrast can look
Varjoaan nopeampi. Childhood classic. Well painted and narrated video.
Looks great, but all I can see is the Primus guys in the film clip for "Wynona's Big Brown Beaver" 🤣

Good call on grabbing these through the Kickstarter! That was a bonkers good deal. :D There'll be some more of these guys over time!
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio Most EXCELLENT! I just printed up the Outlaws this morning! :)

Love it! I swear you're the only painter who reliably gets good pots of Corax White. :)

I didn't realize Lucky Luke was popular outside of Québec.

Gorgeous job! I will say that I’m a bit disappointed that you didn’t actually go back to discussing how you based ‘em

Yee and I cannot express this enough Haw!
Further to this assertion, consider: Giddy up!
Now we need to find an Asterix and Obelix model, and ship it to him.
