One last thing about surviving stab wounds: you mentioned blocking with your fore arms, which is correct. However, you never want your palms to face outward (away from you). This is because the big veins in your arm become vulnerable, and you can experience a lot of blood loss if they are cut. Therefore, it is far better to have your palms facing you (so your veins face you). I hope that this is informative, and I also hope you never have to call on this knowledge.

Don't remove the knife, period. The moment you do, you're already done even if you cauterize the wound.
Not exactly true. I'm in EMS and plenty of people survive wounds similar to stabbings and stabbings without the knife staying in. Often people get stabbed more then once.

I've been stabbed before, in both lungs, and one thing I can tell you is that it is not a pleasant experience.
I got to the hospital in 45 minutes, got stitches, and had to wait about +10 hours before I could get a chest tube insertion.
This is how I managed to survive it; as soon as I got stabbed, my heart was beating fast and it felt like something heavy was placed on my chest, I couldn't take deep breaths, I first thought that my heart was beating fast due to adrenaline but after 30 minutes later I realized that something was seriously wrong.
I started taking slow and shallow breaths in order to stop my lungs from expanding and when I got to the hospital bed, I spent the night fully awake in an upright position. I did my best to not exert myself as I did not want to put pressure on my chest.
This is what worked for me, slow and shallow breaths until I could get a chest tube insertion.

I just would like to say that as a person with asthma, this isn’t easy to accomplish, I remember one time I cried too hard and nearly died from an asthma attack. Long story short, props to you for, what was it, 10 hours of shallow breaths
Wild, I got stabbed iny lung and almost died recently when a guy trapped me and my bro off in a dead end with a knife and rushed my bro . We beat dog feces out of him and took his knife . Didn't realize he poked me and slashed my leg until after we chased him off the scene . That's not all that he had in store for him but 🤫

My Tio Juan who's right now living in the streets and is a big alcoholic went through so much in his life, my dad told me this story of my Tio of when he was a kid he was stayed the night at my tios and one night someone came knocking on the door asking for water and that he was very thirsty my Tio Juan being a good man when and grabbed him some water after the man pounded the water my Tio turned around and left his back open and the man started stabbing my Tio repeatedly in the back over and over again he ended up surviving the stab wounds and years later my Tio is still alive with a bunch of stab scars all over his back my Tio Juan is a blessed man to be here still on this earth today

I got stabbed, on my back near my left shoulder, luckily the knife was pretty small so no internal organs or arteries were punctured, but I still bled pretty badly.
Here's how it happened: I got into a fight with a random guy, we scuffled for a little while before I managed to chase him away. At first I didn't realize I was stabbed, but after the adrenaline wore off I realized I was bleeding and found a hole on my back, where he stabbed me. I went to a nearby parking lot where I started applying first aid, took my shirt off, put pressure on the wound and called an ambulance. Once the ambulance came I was literally sitting in a pool of my own blood. I made it to the hospital, thankfully, without passing out (or worse; dead), got stitched up and after a few weeks made a full recovery. This story has a happy ending but not everyone is this lucky. Be careful out there guys and especially girls, hopefully this never happens to you but if it does I hope you know what to do to prevent yourself from dying.

I haven’t worked in the ER in quite a few years but based on when we got a stab victim in there’s a couple tips to being stabbed. Do not under most circumstances take the knife out, take the piece of clothing cover the wound off if possible (this isn’t essential but it helps up when operating and we can see all injuries), lay on the opposite side of your stab wound (this is traumatic, you might pass out, you might vomit, you might asphyxiate)
The most important one is to not do anything, give the stabbed what they want if they’re robbing you, don’t run after them. Stay still and call an ambulance

Seriously learning how to disarm an armed assailant and incapacitate them is more important than most people make it out
I was stabbed back in ‘99 in the stomach with a 5” serrated knife. I was disemboweled as the result. I had immediate emergency surgery and barley survived. It definitely was a horrible and painful thing to experience
That advice about seatbelts is definitely the best...I walked away from 2 accidents because of the seat belts, a head on collision (before we all had air bags) and more recently a very spectacular freewsy collision - spun around twice and barrel rolled 3x before coming to rest. And only "whiplash" injuries to show for each...wear your seat belts!
