    Oh yeah! The galley tour brought back memories of the old midnight buffet extravaganzas. It was probably an expensive operation in terms of personnel/salary to pull it off.

    • @parodeejay
      @parodeejay  5 лет назад

      Oh I"m sure. I love that they still have the grand midnight buffets on the longer Journeys cruises... I can't imagine them having to do that EVERY cruise... wow!!

    I really want to thank you both for sharing this cruise (actually all your videos are great). We were on this ship and so excited. I had a medical problem and had to make arrangements to fly home in Aruba. I was in tears. Would have loved to meet you if I had known you both were on the ship. So thank you again. I get to see all the ports we missed

      Oh wow, so sorry to hear that! We're happy to share our adventures in the ports you missed. Hopefully all is well and you get to sail back to the Southern Caribbean again someday soon!!

    I totally agree with you as far as sea days. The more sea days the better for me, especially going home. I do not feel so rushed to get packed up and ready to leave. I have been to several of the islands several times, so those days are nice too, because you sort of have the ship to yourself.

    • @parodeejay
      @parodeejay  6 лет назад +1

      True! We've gotten a few ports now where we sometimes don't even get off the ship, but you can still make a fun day by exploring onboard when it's less crowded!

    Loved this video, those food sculptures were amazing. And the show flick that you talked about amazing show we loved it the first time we saw it. Sincerely Adventures of David and Aaron

      Yes, Flick was always our favorite of the "new" Playlist Productions shows... but now that we've been on the Horizon, we've found Celestial Strings as our "new new" favorite... woohoo!! :D

    What a great sea day! Galley tour was cool. Those food sculptures are awesome, such talent! Happy, happy crew. I can never thank and tip the staff enough. They work sooo hard for so little and yet always aim to please with a smile.

    I loved the tour of the galley! You showed how to be patient in a loooonnnngg line and still enjoy the experience. I loved the smiles on the faces of everyone who was serving in the galley...the staff is so wonderful and I appreciate their smiles and service for sure!

    • @parodeejay

      That was one of the highlights... I love a good galley tour, but usually we don't see all the watermelons and ice carvings and all through there... woohoo!! :D

    On this day, I was lucky to be among the very first 20 people waiting inline for the gallery tour and was able to go to the tea time right after the tour. I didn't know the line was that long until seeing your video.

      Thankee! I've had hit-or-miss experiences with the bbq... first tried it on the Vista and the meats were fantastic, the sides were iffy. Tried it again on the Magic, both the meats and sides were really good. This time on the Breeze, the meat was a little fattier than I would like, but the sides were good. It's nice to try overall, just avoid the peak times because holy moly that place gets some long lines!!

    Did you know that you can take your free drink coupon down to guest services and they will exchange it so you can use it anytime anywhere. We did that on our last cruise.

    • @parodeejay
      @parodeejay  6 лет назад

      Ah, nice! We've never tried that. I know one time we sailed with John Heald, someone complained and he proclaimed that they would all be valid anytime, hah... Good to know!! :D

    The Watermelon and Chocolate sculptures are amazing! Back in the day I always loved going to the midnight buffet to see all the different ones that they had. The ones made out of butter are cool too. One question, how many Elegant nights were there on your cruise? We leave for our 12 day next month and was planning on what to take. I figure maybe three.

    • @parodeejay
      @parodeejay  6 лет назад +1

      So amazing! That's part of the fun of a Journeys cruise, is the throwback gala as well. If you're on a 12-day Carnival, that should be a Journeys cruise which would have 2 "elegant" plus 1 "formal" throwback, yep. Awesome!! :D

    I noticed you both typically order multiple dishes at dinner... Is this because you don't like the initial dish? Or are you able to request multiple dishes to be sent out at once to try a taste of as much as you would like? Going on a cruise next week would love to know!

    • @parodeejay
      @parodeejay  6 лет назад

      You can definitely order anything and everything from the menu... some folks only do 1 app, 1 entree, 1 dessert. But we normally order anything that catches our eye. I'm usually able to finish off whatever I order, but some of our tablemates would frequently order double entrees or double desserts, then only eat half of each just to see what they were like. Hope you have a great cruise!! ~Jay
