I kinda do. I put the info in my head and I mention to family/friends that are out running around a lot to keep an eye out for kid/car. It's an easy thing to do and if someone I loved were in danger or missing I'd like to think someone out there cared about another human or family at least that much. It just take one person to recognize them and change how their story ends.

Istg, every time I get an Amber Alert, I go into a full blown anxiety attack because of the thought of a small child being in danger because of some creep.
When there's an Amber alert, I usually look up the kid to see where they were last seen, or where they could possibly be. Usually it's extremely far away, but when it's close I do keep an eye out.

There was an Amber Alert once when I had a day off and it was in my city so I just went for a drive and kept an eye out. Ended up actually finding the car in a parking lot and called it in. (Very anticlimactic because it had already been called in multiple times and police were already on the way, but moral of the story: these alerts actually do help, people are on the lookout).
Do you know that the amber alert is based on a true story? 9 yr Amber hargerman was biking on her bike with her brother. Until her brother realized Amber was going farther she was supposed to. So her brother left and biked home. When her parents only see one of there child they start to look around and shouting Amber name. Luckily one of there Neighbors witness the whole scenario and immediately called the police. If someone is not found within 24 hours is most likely dead. After 4 days someone found the little girl body. The police came fast. Amber was in such bad shape that they prevent her mum to see her. sooner or later she was pronounced dead but the killer was never found. Freely to act again. We don't know the while detail about the killer but it was claim to be a Man in his 20s American or Hispanic. Tell me if I wrote any grammar or correct how the story is really played out.
So amber alerts are worse than I thought (so are the people who make them) And people are dumber than I thought. Imagine kidnapping a child and the first thing you do out of fear of getting caught and facing prison is killing the child. That's even worse if you get caught.
There was this one time a little boy got kidnapped and they sent an amber alert. I searched it up a week later there was no progress in the investigation. It made me tear up bc he was so young and looked like my little brother, I couldn’t imagine the pain those parents felt.

I’m a dad and I found this hilarious. The subject of the joke is the government, he’s not making fun of a missing child. Also if I don’t find something funny my first thought isn’t “nobody should make that joke” it’s “ehh…” then keep scrolling. We did this in my neighborhood. I was by the park and heard a 2 year old girl went missing(The father had left her at the park alone to take his other two children to the bathroom) Everyone nearby went looking in the woods and near their yards, anywhere a kid might wander too. It was so heartbreaking when hours passed and no one had seen a thing. Unfortunately she was found in the lake the next day. I think about it everytime I drive past that lake.
That's what most people do and should be doing, it's the right thing and most morally conscious and able individual take Amber alerts seriously and respond if possible. Edit: I'm saying it's what people should do if they are capable and have the means to do so and are in the region. There are neighbourhood searches when these alerts go off where nearby everyone living nearby come out and help look, take care of the family. It's always been a thing.
I was at an airpot waiting to get on a flight when there was an amber alert the airport. I was about 9 and my brother was about 2, and I remember a lot of parents, including my own, called their kids over and forced them to sit down so they could keep a very close eye on them. My parents have always been overprotective, but I have never seen them that protective or scared. And I really hope the little girl that was kidnapped was saved, and not put on a random flight..

When I get an amber alert I carefully and quickly go lock all my windows and my doors and then I close all my curtains and I get my dog out of her cage to hide with her in my room with my door locked😂

This! I'm in Houston and have turned them off on my phone after getting them for Austin, Corpus Christi and Amarillo. The final straw for be was the blue alert for a county north of Dallas earlier this year.
When I used to live in New Iberia (Louisiana) (i moved a couple of months ago) but whenever there was an amber alert like half of our town’s population (including my parents cause they were hella worried) searched the area that the kid was last seen and all around that area and we found the kid in about 4 hours. (He said he was going to his friends house but got “lost” from what I remember) It’s really amazing how quickly we found him and almost everyone in our town stepped in.

Do you know that the amber alert is based on a true story? 9 yr Amber hargerman was biking on her bike with her brother. Until her brother realized Amber was going farther she was supposed to. So her brother left and biked home. When her parents only see one of there child they start to look around and shouting Amber name. Luckily one of there Neighbors witness the whole scenario and immediately called the police. If someone is not found within 24 hours is most likely dead. After 4 days someone found the little girl body. The police came fast. Amber was in such bad shape that they prevent her mum to see her. sooner or later she was pronounced dead but the killer was never found. Freely to act again. We don't know the while detail about the killer but it was claim to be a Man in his 20s American or Hispanic.

And people are dumber than I thought. Imagine kidnapping a child and the first thing you do out of fear of getting caught and facing prison is killing the child. That's even worse if you get caught.
There was this one time a little boy got kidnapped and they sent an amber alert. I searched it up a week later there was no progress in the investigation. It made me tear up bc he was so young and looked like my little brother, I couldn’t imagine the pain those parents felt.

Its sad but true. I usually try to remember if i HAD seen any car that matched the kidnapper's car desc, but i never have;; i hope they all are eventually safe though..

We did this in my neighborhood. I was by the park and heard a 2 year old girl went missing(The father had left her at the park alone to take his other two children to the bathroom) Everyone nearby went looking in the woods and near their yards, anywhere a kid might wander too. It was so heartbreaking when hours passed and no one had seen a thing. Unfortunately she was found in the lake the next day. I think about it everytime I drive past that lake.

That's what most people do and should be doing, it's the right thing and most morally conscious and able individual take Amber alerts seriously and respond if possible.
Edit: I'm saying it's what people should do if they are capable and have the means to do so and are in the region. There are neighbourhood searches when these alerts go off where nearby everyone living nearby come out and help look, take care of the family. It's always been a thing.

I was at an airpot waiting to get on a flight when there was an amber alert the airport. I was about 9 and my brother was about 2, and I remember a lot of parents, including my own, called their kids over and forced them to sit down so they could keep a very close eye on them. My parents have always been overprotective, but I have never seen them that protective or scared. And I really hope the little girl that was kidnapped was saved, and not put on a random flight..

@@amandaeditz8621 an amber alert is America's system on alerting others if there was a kidnapper on the loose which the kidnapper can be armed and try to make a get away so they notify people within that area if that makes any sense. I'm not so sure if they have something similar in your country but that's basically what it is.

The fact that they're statewide is messed up. I live about an hour west of Texarkana Texas, and there was one out of Houston recently. What if they had just driven over into Louisiana?
This! I'm in Houston and have turned them off on my phone after getting them for Austin, Corpus Christi and Amarillo. The final straw for be was the blue alert for a county north of Dallas earlier this year.

When I used to live in New Iberia (Louisiana) (i moved a couple of months ago) but whenever there was an amber alert like half of our town’s population (including my parents cause they were hella worried) searched the area that the kid was last seen and all around that area and we found the kid in about 4 hours.
(He said he was going to his friends house but got “lost” from what I remember) It’s really amazing how quickly we found him and almost everyone in our town stepped in.
