There are several vintage racing clubs that have a "Trans-Am" class for older muscle cars. I've been to a few races and they can be quite entertaining. Look for the Monterey Historics races from Laguna Seca, for example.
+John Lloyd Trans Am is certainly similar but there are some notable differences such as the displacement limit in this category is 6 litres vs the 5 litre limit of Trans Am also these cars aren't original examples that raced in the 60's and 70's so they are allowed more up to date modifications and can be raced a lot harder. Both are pretty interesting nonetheless.
Good point, Karl; different countries, different formulas and different levels of technical sophistication. But some of the cars -- the American ones -- look the same and certainly sound the same. And the racing is great fun to watch. Formula One should take notes.

firstly: 4:43 -> the placement of this advertisement "bridge" drives me insane 🙄 secndly: to see old civics, celicas, sprinters (ae86s), mustangs or toranas racing is way way way more interesting and exciting than formula one and nascar together. thirdly: there are 3 things i would love to do in my life (before i'm too old): visit japan, visit australia (including the bathurst race track), and get handshakes and autographs from jordan cox, leigh forrest, chris brown and scotty wilson 😏 greetings from germany
Love this series. Wish there was AMC love in it. Was an impressive car of this era in US racing. Cannot believe they do not use RainX. I have no need for wipers in my car on the highway with RainX. Faster I go, better I can see.
650 HP? What are the rules for these cars? No 302 from the day ran like these. I could hear and see it. What are the motor rules? Great racing by the way. I'd pay to watch that live.
I good race series has cars that are more equal. Terrarra is the only winner here. No one else will ever win. Add 300lbs to those cars and it would be a nice series. I could beat the Terarras win the series all the time., Rethink the specs Touring Car Masters.

Actually the blue car is an XY Ford Falcon. The Monaro is the car spinning and is the HT model, not a HK.
