    SIR Tom Jones is not before your time. He's still performing today and is a judge on the Voice in the UK too. He is a Welshman, born within a 30 minute drive of Dame Shirley Bassey, Sir Anthony Hopkins, and Catherine Zeta Jones. I love that this is NOT one of those dreadful multiple choice abominations. ❤

      @tamielizabethallaway2413 13 часов назад +1

      It is, in terms of "sticky out bits" of land. (That's a technical term btw...🙄) 😂
      They are the two extremes where distance is greatest between them. But the actual answer, that I've never heard of anyway, is the NORTHERN most point, which is what the question asked. John O' Groat's sticks out on the top right, Land's End sticks out on the bottom left, so that other place is more Northerly than John O' Groat's I guess???
      A lot of answers I had no clue on! And I'm 100% British! 😳

    It's a common misconception, even among Brits, that John O'Groats is the northernmost point! It's because journeys from Land's End to John O'Groats are pretty much the longest journey you can make on the mainland, so they are often used for challenges like cycling. Land's End also isn't the southernmost point, which is actually at Lizard Point.

P.S. the question about the northernmost tip of Scotland is a favourite question that often comes up in pub quizzes and catches many folk out who are not familiar with the geography of Scotland and are not paying attention to what the question is actually asking. The comment by XennialTV explains why so many folk get this question wrong - the question is asking what point of land is the furthest north in mainland Scotland, not what is the northernmost settlement in mainland Scotland

    Well done on "Kate Winslet", that was an inspired answer ... mostly I was a fraction ahead of you but that one I was nowhere near.
    The northernmost point was a bit of a trick question - John O'Groats is the northernmost settlement, but Dunnet Head is an uninhabited promontory that is slightly further north.
    The first PM to serve under Elizabeth II was also a bit of a trick question - most British people know that Churchill was PM during WW2 and was voted _out_ in 1945, seven years before Elizabeth took the throne - the trick is that he then returned to office in 1951.

John o' Groats is a settlement, Dunnet Head is a headland north of that. Look on your map of Britain, it's at the very top right of the mainland. Rod Stewart is from London, but proud of his Scottish ancestry. Blankety Blank is an old TV Quiz Show. Yes, Charlie Chaplin was also from London, as was Bob Hope. John O' Groats is more 'well-known' than Dunnet Head, due (mainly) to the John O' Groats to Lands End challenge. But as a occupied 'place' J o G IS the most Northerly spot...

    I just seen a reaction on another channel and all I could think was how much you and your wife would love the video they're reacting to. "Why these ENGLISH VILLAGES WILL STEAL YOUR HEART" ...the places they show are like fairy tales.

    I think you did very well and can accept that some of the old, old items (Henry Cooper knocking down Ali) probably wouldn't even be picked up by a young Brit. It surprised me that you didn't recognize Tom Jones as he has been doing Vegas residencies since 1967 and was there at the same time as Elvis and still does these.
    One thing that stands out is the number of times you both said "Is he (or they) British?" There are quite a few RUclips vids around of Americans reacting to British actors playing Americans or British bands and it might be interesting seeing you react to those.

    Tom jones. Actually Welsh, but same difference lol. He has sang "It's not unusual" and " Delila" He was also in the movie Mars Attacks, he was the start playing at vegas that escaped on the private plane with some showgirls. He is also a judge on rhe UK's version of The Voice. And one of his claim to fame's is, his voice is so powerful he actually breaks microphones. He was doing some sound checks one day and decided to belt out a few lyrics full force and all of a sudden the microphone went all crackly and stopped working properly.

    Dunnet Heat is just further north, than John O' Groats, and is on the east coast, only 27 minutes away. Which is news, to me, as I always thought John O' Groats was further north, as that's what we were always told! :o)
