It started when I see a huge shark in a aquarium during vacation
Same here. But it was triggered when I was a young kid and my dad showed me underwater cryptid videos before we went to the lake. It only got worse from there.

what the hell sh33sh at first I wasn't scared of the ocean but your points and experience is opened my eyes. My actual biggest fear is insects like wasp and yellow jackets. I don't mind honey bees since they help pollinate and don't want to sting to you but the others are just assholes.

I've got a story to share,
So when I was 4 years old I was in venezuela to visit parts of my family and an uncle of mine had a huge pool with a really cool waterslide. I loved swimming at the time and was having a good time until I went down the slide, and then the first time I made contact with the ground I realised that the ground was essentially just a huge ceramic image of a Dolphin. That thing scared me the fuck out, but I continued to swim and I was fucking terrified all the time because the image of the Dolphin was located under the Slide. So always when I used the slide and made contact with the water I always freaked out and thought that a real Huge dolphin would pop out and eat me or some shit.
Can't wait for the Drowning Simulator lets play!

I think my fear would have to be centipedes, all those legs from those legs terrify me and I don't want them anywhere near me, plus their poisonous and them biting someone would be worse than crawling on someone alone

The open ocean while seeing nothing around me freaks me tf out. I don’t know what’s down there in those shadowy depths. I have similar thalassophobia to you, swimming at night is a no because something could drag me down, the ocean in the day is fine but above the water, and the vid of the one guy in the open water.

Mine is mostly Thalassophobia but there's Autophobia(fear of being alone), Arachnophobia(fear of spiders), Ophidiophobia(fear of snakes), Astraphobia (fear of lightning and thunder), Tryphanophobia(fear of needles), and Globophobia(fear of baloons)
Bruh, this is very relatable. If I’m out in the ocean and look into the deep dark abyss in the ocean. The more you look, it just feels like something could be like something is watching you. Maybe ready to come out when you don’t expect it.

Not sure if I commented the first time I watched this but let’s have a go. I have 2 biggest fears that were both installed in my head at a very young age: Bug Faces and Being upside down.
That one Spongebob episode with the butterfly was haunting every time they zoomed in on the face.
When I was young my dad and brothers would hang me upside down over their shoulders, it was all playful and no Ill intentions but it still hits me especially on roller coaster

I am very afraid that I will see something in the mirror that is not behind me or my reflection will do something other than me.

It's just the feeling of being in this vast area where you can't see what's around you and anything can kill you, if you're on the water you could sink and drown, n there's these giant animals and even though they're peaceful and everything they're just so fucking big, and theres these big fucking human machines that arent supposed to be there (submechanophobia I think that one is called) and I get panic attacks just seeing pictures and videos of this shit bc it's so horrifying. I'd maybe swim with sharks and whales in a huge aquarium n stuff but absolutely not in the ocean. I can hardly go to the lake I live near by (one of the great lakes) bc IT LOOKS LIKE THE OCEAN WHEN YOURE THERE. One time my dad made me put my feet in the water and we were waiting in an area that was 30 feet deep and I actually thought I was going to die, I was so terrified. Idk why. When I was younger I loved the ocean, but as I got older I just became so terrified of how unknown it is, and how easily it can kill you.
I'm afraid of heights myself. Being on tall things makes me super anxious, even with guard rails. As a six foot something guy, I'm always worried that, if I trip or something I could end up falling over the rail.
Oddly enough, I'm also a big fan of things that can fly.

I have the same fear and it started when i was playing subnautica (flipin hate it). It was a pretty cool game until i ventured out too far...a frickin huge seamonster popped out of nowhere and i almost had a heart attack. From now on im never playing games like that ever again.
I have thalassophobia BUT my trigger is pictures of the deep sea and idk, I also hate going in the ocean. A little weird about pools but I like swimming. But NOT in the ocean.
I have both a fear and obsession with the sky and space. I love the idea of flying, I used to want to be a pilot, I used to study the stars, I love the idea of being an astronaut or a space explorer. But something about it also scares me a lot, I've yet to find out why...

I'm traumatized of deep swimming pools because this thing happened when I was 12:
So this swimming pool was long and the further you go to one side the deeper it gets (it goes from 0.5m to 5m). Even though it has ropes above the pool to hint the floor's descent I was still curious to step further. Then oh why the living daylights... I can feel my foot slowly sliding down to the deepest floor until completely floating, I was crying and screaming like batshit crazy and my dad pulled me to the shore then I felt like under no circumstances should I go back into that deathtrap 😂😂

I have Thalassophobia as well haha and Cetaphobia (fear of whales). When you showed this dude swimming with those whales I just tossed my phone away and screamed. God. The combination is so effing bad I just can't. The ocean and everything in it terrifies me.
Your sitting home one day then suddenly you teleport in the middle of the ocean just gasping for air and you don't know how far the ocean floor is. probably hundreds of feet

Crossing bridges with big bodies of water while you’re in a car makes me cry. I’m so scared of the ocean, its creatures, a huge deep ocean, waves, what’s in the ocean and it’s unknown stuff, fallen cars, shipwrecks, deaths, everything. I’m terrified and can’t stand the beach. What makes it worse is that we barely know anything about the ocean.
I have a phobia whose name i haven't find yet.
But is... Like being afraid of something really really big... Like "covers the entire sky" kind of big, like i would probably shit my soul out of my body if i see a giant eye on the sky, or a giant hand on the sky, something so incredibly big.
In fact, i can't look at a clear sky (without clouds and/or star) for too long.
And i can't look under me, but not because of a shark or something like that.
But... I fear... To see something that shouldn't exist, something really really fucking big.

I fear the darkness in all it's forms but i don't hate the big huge things lurking in it i just hate the small fast creatures that move just out of sight when you go to look at them. Also! The game "water womb world" is a perfect example for why the ocean needs to be blown up
I'd say heights I can't even walk across certain bridges with out feeling week and like I'm going to pass out mainly the highway bridges when your crossing over the interstates it's really bad but if I had to choose the ocean or a tall building I'm choosing death

What BOOSTED the fear for me was the game Tomb Raider: Underworld, with one of its first missions being the one where you have to dive to the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea, visit an underwater maze at the end of which will be a giant tentacle that's in the dark corner and stays still, until you get close, then it rapidly shakes and moves away accompanied by a string screamer. Just a disclaimer for y'all. And yeah later in there will be another one, where another giant tentacle crushes the floor in front of you with a very sudden and loud sound (that's already in a room with lights and air, but still, it's scary)

My biggest fear is Submechanophobia, (The fear of man-made objects partially or fully submerged underwater), I feel extremely uneasy looking at shipwrecks or wrecks of any other kind in the ocean, there are a few exceptions though, I like to look at wrecks like the RMS Titanic or HMHS Britannic, It just really freaks me out, One time i saw a Massive propellor blade from a ship, and a guy hanging on and literally endless water underneath him, it scared me.

my bigest fear is to be forgotten
I am right there with you. The ocean...unsettled me for a while. Then, one day whilst on a family vacation, my sister and I rented a jetski. It was a lake, not an ocean, but we both know it doesn't matter WHAT it is. If you can't see the bottom, that's what counts. Anyway, I was riding on a jetski. My sister, thankfully was driving. I looked down at the water and was suddenly hit by the biggest wave of fear I had ever experienced. I Iocked up completely, which was why it was a good thing I wasn't the one driving. In my head, all I could think of was how I watched someone fall off their jetski minutes earlier. Oh, it was jolly good fun at the time. Laughs were had as they got back on it. Yeah, wasn't so funny when it was me there. All I could think of was teeth...or tentacles...or a giant webbed hand. Been terrified of the ocean ever since.
Oceans, or any body of water for that matter, can fuckin terrify me. Not only is the thought of "what is beneath" absolutely terrifying, especially seeing as i can be quite paranoid and superstitious, but what makes me fear water is what also makes me fear heights.
When you're looking at an ocean, and you're just taking it all in, and then you get that one random thought in your head that goes "hey bro, imagine how it'd be to be completely stranded in the middle of nowhere and slowly drowning wouldn't that be a cool thing to think about lol have fun cunt". I can't swim, so drowning is quite a real issue for me. Even in the deep parts of the pool, i get genuinely terrified because of it. A part of it also has to do with me almost being crushed by a water mill when i was younger, where it genuinely just sucked me in and almost crushed me (i got stuck on one little edge of a rock somehow i've no idea how).
And that's with every pool of water. Hell even taking a bath makes me really anxious because i think of going asleep and drowning accidentally.
You could say it's more-so a fear of drowning, but it has alot to do with the ocean and any large body of water. Plus, i do relate to your fear of "what the fuck is lurking underneat". That clip of the video you showed can fuck off, the darkness genuinely made me panic lmao.

i do have thalassophobia, but like i'm not scared of the sea or of the ocean. I'm scared of the deep,dark water and the unknown things that are lurking in that water. Like i'm scared of the huge bodies of the ocean, if that makes sense.
